Here the two extreme scenarios, everything else will be inbetween

...

I think it's because at 0ºC ice and snow melts and this leads to a mess with a lot of mud everywhere

...

Like inside your house was -5Cº
Dumb fuck

t. people who have never lived in a cold climate
pic related, also 0 to -10°C is much more bearable than slightly above 0°C

It's a general weather pattern in most of Europe I guess. Here in winter, it's either around +5 to +10 with lots of wind and drizzly rain (winds come from the Atlantic, 80% of the time), or crispy clear sunny and mostly calm at -5 to -10 (when winds come from Siberia)

How do we solve the left problem

110+ end my life
100-110 uncomfortable
80-100 tolerable
75-80 perfect
65-75 tolerable
35-65 uncomfortable
35 or less end my life

I literally leave my bedroom window open all winter long.

There's no "uncomfortable" hot weather or "tolerable" cold weather, it just skips a stage

20°C is the perfect temperature

I have never experienced a temperature lower than 6 degrees, but coldness is always tolerable if you have an extra blanket/coat, unlike hot weather where your only option is to go naked or tear your skin apart.

...

implying you have sub zero temperatures in Latvia

...

Me too!

>but coldness is always tolerable if you have an extra blanket/coat
Yeah, you never experienced below -30°C. Every part of your body that is directly exposed start to hurt as if it was burned. It's only tolerable for a few minutes or an hour max if you are constantly moving. It also hurts when you breath.

>lowest temperature recorded in Latvia was −43.2 °C

>that first breath when you step outside your house on a -33 day

it always hurts and it always makes you cough, days like that can be nice with no wind and clear sky though, when you're bundled up and moving it can be comfortable, but if there's any degrees of wind or moisture fuck that shit

By coat, I obviously mean an extra layer of protection. Add some balaclavas, scarfs and fluffy hood and you're good to go.

>any degrees of wind
Oh yeah, fuck wind, it makes -10°C feel like -30°C

>Add some balaclavas, scarfs and fluffy hood and you're good to go
Average person will not feel good in such cold, no matter how many clothes they've put on. How can you even talk since you've said it yourself that you've never experienced below 6 fucking degrees?

Clothing doesn't really keep the cold out at those temperatures. Definitely makes it more bearable obviously but by no means will you be comfortable

(-infinity;+infinity) - perfect

Look, I assume this thread is about living in a place where the weather is cold; in such a scenario, you can make preparations and endure it, that's all I'm saying.

If the comparison is purely temperature-based, then everyone needs to be naked and feeling 100% of that -40ºC.

A -20°C in estonia is a lot colder than -20°C in say Moscow because Estonia being much closer to the sea has a lot more humidity in the air.

I've been in Moscow during the winter and I gotta say Muscovite -30°C is fucking nothing compared to -30°C in Poland. In Russia I actually walked around with my parka only zipped to 3/4.

Shouldn't there be a 5 between 10 and 0?
