oneitis ruins everything:the series

She was a true patriot, putting her country above her family.

She wanted mankind to last forever.

Wait
Wait
Wait

So everyone just turns into orange juice at the end?

she was a bitch

She was a major slut.

Nothing, she wanted to save Shinji.

what's the best episode of Eva? I'm going with episode 22

>when your fetish gets posted out of nowhere

whelp

Yes, the world ends and only Faggot and German girl survives. Then the worl restarts in the new movies because shinji has daddy issue autist powers.

No you didn't get it.
It's tomato soup.

More like primordial soup

She was just taking human behaviour to its logical extreme. All of our base instincts serve the purpose of reproduction and prosperity. We're wired to perpetuate ourselves. By creating a single unending human consciousness Yui won existence for the entire species.

You know the ocean in Solaris? It's kind of like that crossed with Childhood's End.

Dance Like You Want To Win!

Fuck you and your Jew word.

Why is this thread here?

Basically everyone dies.

>oneitis
>jew word

The fuck?

Dance Like You Want To Win is my favorite.

>only Faggot and German girl survives

Yui literally says that everyone has the choice to stay as a separate entity

just because we don't see them it doesn't mean that other people didn't choose not to become tang

Asukafags please

Episode 18

I'm a Reifan but DLYWTW is great. And it shows Rei is intrinsically better at team working.
youtube.com/watch?v=Pr9ExScjBno

Everyone turns to LCL. This means that they become one being, one mind. This is what Gendo wanted, to end all conflict and all negative things.

Rei became god, and brought about Instrumentality - which is basically the process of becoming one being with one mind.

Rei turned on Gendo, and granted Shinji's wish - he rejected Instrumentality, feeling that if everybody is one, then really there's nothing. Imagine being on your own forever - without someone else to interact with, your existence is meaningless and you can't even verify or confirm your own existence.

Anyone who has the desire to live as an individual can be formed from the LCL and live again, reborn. That's why Shinji and Asuka are alive at the end of EoE. Others are still deciding to become one again or not.

Everyone "died" through Instrumentality, to become one being. Anyone who wants to be resurrected can/will be resurrected after Rei granted Shinjis wish of rejecting Instrumentality.

>This is what Gendo wanted

No.

this is the number 1 scene.

>This is what Gendo wanted
m90....

Yes but the planet was devastated so there would be no point in coming back. Like every building was destroyed.

Shit, you're right. It's been a while since I saw.

Instrumenality is what SEELE wanted, to create one being instead of individuals.

Gendo wanted to actually become God himself, not Rei. Rei turned on Gendo, became God, and granted Shinji his wish after/during Instrumentality. Gendo wanted to become God to unite with Yui.

We don't see anything outside the beach, so it's up in the air if God-Rei recreated cities, etc.

If it's still worth coming back or not is a matter of opinion - and if anyone felt like it wasn't worth coming back, they could simply choose not to.

Good Goyim, Love isn't real, it's a sickness, so sleep around all you want, there is no need to build a strong family :^)

So the rebuilds are a sequel?

Eva sucks

Potentially

Yep, that's correct. Even in 1.0, they make it very obvious. They show a partially devastated world, and the sea is still LCL/red.

they say that the sea became red only after 2nd impact though

Everyone dies but can come back the way shinji did in episode 16.

posting in underage thread

I will have to double check, but I'm 99.9% sure that the ocean is blue, or at least mostly blue, in the original series. I believe it is only completely red after the original series.

I also remember a view of earth from space, where the sea is entirely blue.

SEELE wanted that. Gendo just wanted to be back with his waifu because deep down he's a sad beta cuck.

did 3.0 get a huge backlash in japan or something?
seems like 4.0 is never coming out.

>did 3.0 get a huge backlash in japan or something?

Why, 3.0 had some quality story telling and characterization in it.

You're right, I corrected myself earlier.

I looked into it. In 2.22 Kaji tells Shinji it turned red after Second Impact - this seems partially true.

Water around Antarctica was Red due to Adams AT field, but the rest of the water is clearly blue.

It looks like it is only after the original series/tanging that the entire ocean became red. This supports the sequel idea.

Serious question - how did Anno write all of this ? From a writing point of view it seems very complicated to me. To come up with it, structure it, deliever it properly

Director Hideaki Anno fell into a deep depression following completion of work on Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water[18] and the 1992 failure of the Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise sequel project.[19] According to Yasuhiro Takeda, Anno agreed to a collaboration between King Records and Gainax while drinking with King representative Toshimichi Ōtsuki; King Records guaranteed Anno a time slot for "something, anything".[21] Anno began development of the new series in 1993 around the notion of not running away, which had been the underlying theme of Aoki Uru, an earlier Anno project that had failed to move into production. Early into the production, Anno stated his intent to have Evangelion increase the number of otaku (anime fans) by attracting interest in the medium. According to him, the plot of the series reflects his four-year depression. In the early design phase of the Evangelion project several formats were considered, including a film, a television series and an original video animation (OVA) series. The producers finally opted for the television series as it was the most widely accessible media in Japan at that time. The proposed title Alcion was rejected due to its lack of hard consonant sounds.

I know this user, but i meant once he actively started working on it. The actual work itself

The story isn't even that hard to understand, it's just that some of the important plot points aren't covered blatantly so it's easy to miss on a first watch

It was just him combining Devilman and Ideon while being depressed.

She wanted a kid so that she had some kind of physical legacy, so got with some Chad who was never cut out to be a parent in the first place. But that wasn't enough for her so she took it upon herself to become an man-made immortal being instead

Japanese can keep a lot of things in their mind at once

How though? All the Angels got rekt. So everyone tang'd, then came back with no memories of what happened, redid Second Impact, rebuilt the Eva's, redid everything but slightly different, and the Angels that dot exist anymore came and attacked Tokyo III all over again?

He put a fuckload more effort into compared to the guy """""wrote""""" naruto

I see where you are coming from - and yeah, that's basically what seems to have happened. Except the angels were recreated.

There are signs to point toward them being sequels that are far too blatant to deny it, in my opinion.

The ocean now being completely red, when it wasn't previously.

The bloodstain on the moon being present, when we literally watch that bloodstain appear during EoE.

The mass production units that fell in cross-shapes are still there in the ocean.

The wrecked ship is in the city.

A popular idea is that 3rd impact physically happened, but the people were brought back to the moment just before second impact mentally. This isn't confirmed, just an option.

Further proof is that in 1.0, Shinjis mp3 player will loop after the 26th track, yet in Rebuild it goes to the 27th track.

This tbqh.

Also, in the soundtrack for Rebuild Rei has her track names renamed from Rei II and Re IIU to Rei IV and Rei V.

There's more evidence as well, but you get the idea.

Wouldn't there be no Adam or Lilith the second time around and thus no EVAs?

Those seem more like homages instead of actual plot devices. And about the Angels, how'd they get recreated? How'd Adam come back to redo Second Impact? How'd Lilith come back? Actually was it supposed to be Adam in the basement in Rebuilds now? It's been a while. I don't know none it makes sense.

And practically, how could a near God like race of ayyylmaos fuck up so badly that they not only seeded a planet with both eggs, but that their like 4 fail-safes failed not only once, but almost a second time? Are we to believe this ancient race of demi-gods fucked up that hard?

Maybe they were not true failsafes. Maybe it was just a test for potential inherators: build angel robots, kill the angels, grow over just wanting to turn into Tang and become like us.

what was her endgame

Looks like it's time for trump threads

People are having a television related discussion.
Go somewhere.

No idea, perhaps it will be explained in 4.0

I can't see you shrugging off the evidence as homages though.

Kaworu knows Shinji in the Rebuild, it's not his first time meeting him. I feel like there's a limit to what can be considered a homage or reference. The character actually knows him from previous events, and states in dialogue.

I feel like you need to take it with an Anno-sized grain of salt. I definitely feel that the evidence proves it is intended as a sequel, they keep throwing in more and more proof. There's not much to do except wait for 4.0 and see if they explain anything further.

Rei 1 had to be killed so her soul could get in unit 00.
Gendo knew this and baited Ritsuko's mom into killing her and herself.

Bella Thorne threads invoke discussion too don't they princess, shall we start up some? Think before you post lest you embarrass yourself even more.

...

Mari also probably knows too. She is willing to see the end of the world, because she knew it happened and that it would happen again.

I guess I get that take on it. It just seems really far fetched. The lore is that they didn't want anyone to gain their powers and become as strong as them but I can see the inheritance angle if they really give give a shit if they got wiped out by a rival being they created.

I just can't buy that all the events of the series happened almost exactly the same two times. I think the Rebuilds live up to their as Rebuilds of the original series. And again with Adam and Lilith. And the Lance of Longinus that is flying in space with Unit-01 at the end of EoE. How is it back on Earth?

>baiting your most brilliant scientist into suicide (at least there was a failsafe in her Ritsuko)
>wanting to kill Rei in a roundabout way

If Gendo really wanted Rei's soul in Unit00 he would have had her killed in an operating room.

>it turns out to be b8

It's to be explained, hopefully.

If you're looking at the series objectively, the only thing to discuss is what is actually happening/has happened in the series. The inclusion of so many intentional changes/references that directly reference that this is not the first time things have happened before is so blatant and in-your-face that it seems like much more than a head nod to the original.

The sea, the bloodstain, the outline of the EVAs, Kaworu blatantly knowing Shinji and referencing things having happened previously, etc.

I don't think it's some fuck up on their part - I feel like they intentionally did it this way to have us question how they are going to explain it/what actually happened.

Knowing Anno, they may never explain it

He couldn't make himself kill his waifu-clone.
He did not care about the old hag he was fucking cause she was not her waifu.

I don't know I'm just speculating anyway. Maybe it was just a non-socially trained Rei being mean on spite, like all kids. Or it was Yui shit talking to the women fucking her husband. The thing is that it was good for Gendo and NERV at the end of the day.

Betcha didn't see that coming

>bloodstain on moon

This always bothered me, since the bloodstain in EoE is probably hundreds of kilometres wide, but in Rebuild its small (and seems to have been made from dragging Kaworu's Eva into a pit). Its certainly a call-back though

>Director Hideaki Anno fell into a deep depression following completion of work on Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water

No surprise Neo Atlantis should have won

Yui did EVERYTHING wrong

>Chad

Gendo is just Shinji as an adult and even more of a sperg

He made it up as he went along and justified it as part of some master plan ipso post facto

Well hopefully Anno finishes 3.0+1.0 before he dies and explains further. I don't view them as sequels but can see why you do. Difference of interpretations and opinions I guess.

Either way, it's intentionally vague. They did a good job of leaving it up in the air, but I'd love a definite conclusion.

Logically, the story can't be a sequel as of now, at least not reasonably. At the same time, they keep cramming in hints that it is. It'll be interesting to see what happens with 4.0

How can Unit 1's soul be Rei 1 when Rei was always just an empty vessel without a soul meant to eventually house lilith's soul?

Was Rei 1's soul originally someone else's?

Annokino

>globalism is bad: the series
Was anno redpilled?

I mean unit 0

Episode 19 where Shinji quits then realizes he was being a little bitch and gets a life lesson from Kaji about watermelons but even that's not enough but then EVA-01 goes berserk.

check'd

Claim your angelfu

if you honestly believe that then you are very dumb
i think it bears similarity with the Dark Souls lore in this aspect - and it's probably why both are so debated and talked about.

The writers leaving parts of the story out, for us to debate over is pure genius. It ensures the immortality of their work, as well as their name.

Gee user, the only two guys with long big noses are on the bad guy council. Really makes your synchronization rise.

>Seele is evil
>creating man-made gods through international cooperation is bad
>killing dozens of gods with said man-made gods is bad

>retreating into one's own shell and ignoring others out of fear of pain is good

It is not gay since angels have no sex.

A situation where everyone is equal, there is no discrimanation nor pain nor conflict sounds a lot like socialism to me.

I dunno, I think you're giving Anno a little too much credit. Sure, he had a lot planned out (even the concept of the last two episodes), but there are certain aspects of the lore that are almost impossible to decipher without material from outside the show. I agree that the lack of definitive explanations is great because you have to think on your own about what happens, but sometimes its taken too far or it even contradicts itself (ex: the mechanics of starting Third Impact).

Gendo's alpha as fuck.
He gets all the girls, young or old.
Has made Fuyutsuki his bitch ever since he bailed him out of jail following a bar fight against multiple opponents.
Pries open super-heated hatches with no fucks given.
Manually started three Evas
Surgically fused a god to his own hand
Wears wraparound shades so you know he's up for some beach volleyball at any given moment
Could theoretically 1v1 Ramiel

...

>they take away the lifes of dozens of millions of people who never wanted this system

yeah, it's socialism

he's even more of a goon in the manga when he is able to manifest an AT Field through the Adam embryo in his hand

>Descartes
>Not "give her the AT field"

...

Part three when?
youtube.com/watch?v=233OwqrLvgE

If the rebuilds take place after EoE where did the 2 lances come from since there was only 1 in the original series and it turned into an infinity symbol and floated off into space
