>running on 2nd and 10 is stupid

If you're confident in your QB to convert a 3rd&7, running on 2nd&10 is fine. If not, you essentially have to throw it.

If you’re not confident in your qb to convert a 3rd and 7, then you’re most likely fucked anyways

looks like gender isn't the only thing xhehawks fans are confused about

It honestly was a good call that just blew up in their face. Literally no one expected a pass play in that situation, Butler just made an incredible play on the ball

This

Hindsight analysis is lazy and illogical

Teams throw on the goal line all the time and have success

By 3rd&7, I meant 3rd&7+, as opposed to 3rd&5 or less. Big difference in conversion %s there.

>no one expected pass
>3 corners! Malcolm, Go!
Except they did. Bill read it from the beginning and Malcolm saw it coming. Still, it wasn’t a horrible play. Lynch has been stuffed in the exact same situation multiple times that season and literally no other pass was intercepted at the goal line from that distance. Seahawks probably thought the worst that would happen was it get knocked away or just goes incomplete, in which they have 2 timeouts and 2 downs with the clock stopped.

>nobody expected it
>The Patriots were completely prepared for it and had practiced it before

It was a retarded playcall. I can't believe fuckers are still defending it. It was so bad Seahawks players still are not over it.

Seahawks had one TO.

Agree with both of you, although I would've run it again on 2nd then thrown it on 3rd.

The pats are prepared for most contingencies, it’s why they win.

The opinions on the player don’t really matter, they’re just mad they lost and want to make the OC the scapegoat. Do your job and trust your coaches.

t.12 year old fan

That guy was fired for being shit.

I don’t care for him personally but not because of the Malcolm butler play

People don’t care he called a pass, they care that it didn’t work.

If they ran it up the gut with lynch and he was stuffed 3 times people would second guess that because that’s human nature

It’s hindsight analysis and it’s lazy

Nobody would second guess it. People would just say damn the Patriots are that good. With your logic, any playcall is always the right one because we can't review in hindsight. The Seahawks slant playcall required Jermaine Kearse to beat Browner and their GUNNER ON SPECIAL TEAMS to make the game-winning catch.

Did no one actually watch lynch get away on that play? only one defender to beat, and he hadn't lost a yard all game. I do not understand why people ignore this just to make contrarian arguments that the Seahawks didn't fuck up. it was obviously the wrong play.

>Handegg

No one seems to remember bellichicks genius on that play. Everyone was expecting the pats to take a timeout with the clock running but the didn't because the seahawks had the wrong personnel out on the field and it confused the fuck out of them

And it probably would have if the Patriots did not practice that specific play.

...

also a critical point, 100% correct imo. the pre-snap of that play felt like a game of chicken.
