>Prague, Oct 27 (CTK) - Czechs have a considerably varied genetic origin, with only 35 percent coming from the Slavic genetic group, one third belonging to the German-Celtic group and 10 percent having ancestors among Vikings, shows the latest research by Brno's Masaryk University, daily Pravo writes on Friday.
That's as much as the Slovenian average and higher than any other South Slavic nation.
Cooper Robinson
of course, they were once Boii, the ancestral homeland of the Celts.
Parker Torres
that's because save for Slovenes, South-Slavs are only culturally Slavic. They are mostly descended from the Balkan natives of antiquity.
Caleb Peterson
What does the picture say?
Joseph Miller
it depicts two typically Celtic genetic mutations, has to do with a hereditary disease especially prevalent amongst Celts (haemochromatosis)
Ryder Foster
>Are we Celts? >Spread of the G551D mutation >What about now? Romanians or Welshmen? >Spread of 1898+1 G-A mutation which could possibly also be celtic.
Jace Morgan
Boy, that's a fucking shocker...
Ethan Rogers
It's true. When I went to Prague I noticed that it's absolutely impossible for people to tell I'm not Czech until they notice I don't speak the language.. That never happened to me anywhere else in Europe.
The only other place where this happened is the US.
Michael Walker
What a stupid article
We are slavs because we speak slavic language, I have german surname but Im slav and my german after 14 years in school is just shit
Gabriel Taylor
Well that means that your fashion is eastern european
Thats the only difference tbfh
Sebastian Sanders
You are not a slav, you are celto-germanic with sprinkles of slav.
Jaxson Sullivan
Actually, you can tell pretty much every ethnicity in Europe apart by their facial features, hairlines and hair color.
Jeremiah Scott
I've always said they're celtic and germanic.
Ethan Morales
Keep telling yourself that Slavboy.
Eli Fisher
Nice trips
Nope, my native language and culture is slavic so I am 100% slav. Its really that easy.
Easton Williams
but you're also 40% Slavic so there are better references ;^)
Jason Cooper
>Czech culture >slavic >not Austro-Bavarian
Cooper Powell
Same
Nicholas Ramirez
It is obviously talking about Slavic in the ethnic sense, not the cultural.
That is why Venedic is a better word to use for Slavic in the purely ethnic sense.
Parker Cook
>555 See? We are even bros in trips.
Ryan Bennett
No you're just an autist who stubbornly refuses to acknowledge the simple fact that there is a difference between ethnic origin and cultural identity.

It's not his fault, that's decades of commie brainwashing to divide what used to be strong together.

Then why did you expel German speaking people from your country following the Potsdam agreement?

Yeah this leads to very confusing DNA results.

When we talk about "Slavshits", we don't mean the noble people of Czechland. We mean those eastern barbarians.

Pretty sure that your country deported every single German speaking that did not pledge alliance to the communist party...
Also, i don't want to be called a liar.

William Torres
>Pretty sure you are retarded I am sorry if i don't know the history of a small country to well as a native know. Go ahead, teach me about your history...
Henry Howard
Use the word viking is wrong. Scandinavians used the main European rivers to trade with the rest of Europe. Mainly slaves and amber... Vikings where the niggers of Scandinavia.
Cameron Williams
Communists did coup d'etat in 48 not in 45. Beneš decrees were quite straightforward. NSDAP member, SDP member, Wehrmacht member, SS member = out
Christopher Smith
Okay, i got it. But most of the Germans where not "forced" to join the workers party to be able to work? Who ruled Czechoslovakia from 45 to 48?
Ryan Rivera
Then how were women expelled as well? My great grandmother grew up in Silesi, but when my mother did a genetic test, she was surprised to not find any Slavic genes, which means that her grandma from Slesian was kicked out for her language, culture, and blood.
Gabriel Ramirez
>Nope, my native language and culture is slavic so I am 100% slav. Its really that easy. So Mdongo Mbebe can be a slav too? I didn't know it was that easy.
Alexander Richardson
>NSDAP member, SDP member
Oliver Murphy
The same government as the one before 38'.
>But most of the Germans where not "forced" to join the workers party to be able to work? Now you mean NSDAP? No they were not forced to join it. But since Sudetenland was directly annexed to Reich and not as a part of Protektorat they had to go to Wehrmacht which inevitably resulted in almost all Sudeten-German males meeting the requirement to get BTFO'd by Beneš decrees. 90% of Silesia is in Poland, I doubt they gave a fuck under the guidance of USSR who they threw out. If she is from Czech Silesia then tough luck, Germans went en masse.
You might be all forgetting that during the times when Beneš decrees (The throw out the darn german law) were enacted was the bulk of Wehrmacht from Eastern front in Czechoslovakia. That meant that there was not just mere 3m Sudeten Germans but also 2m Wehrmacht soldiers trying not to get buttfucked by Ruskies. So no leniency was displayed.
And women also were often part of NSDAP, and when your husband gets thrown out you would be stupid to stay there alone.
Jonathan Russell
Was she actually expelled or did she simply follow here male relatives who were expelled?
Also, genetic tests didn't exist in 1945, so she definitely didn't get kicked out for "her blood".
Kevin Butler
Only if you are white and speak slavic than you are slav
Levi Lewis
>Also, genetic tests didn't exist in 1945, so she definitely didn't get kicked out for "her blood" Genetic tests did exist, not in the form we know them today but RuSHA and other facilities were quite capable of finding out some ethnicity traits.
>SPD - Svobodu Prime Demokracii (i think), led by Tomio Okamura >SDP - Sudetendeutsche Partai, they had quite a cool logo, led by Henlein
Adam Turner
>The same government as the one before 38'. This is why so much of central European architecture still remains in Czech republic?
Also, why the Slavic language is still spoken since the Bohemia was part of Austria for soooo long?
Connor Lopez
Czech language was almost extinct
It was revived in 19. century
Jack Mitchell
Care to explain? Or link something...
Carter Morales
Czechoslovakia was lucky when it came to bombing. No German bombing since we were annexed before the war. Almost no Allied bombing since war was over when Wehrmacht made it here.
Nolan Turner
>This is why so much of central European architecture still remains in Czech republic? ???
>Also, why the Slavic language is still spoken since the Bohemia was part of Austria for soooo long? Because romantism was cool and a bunch of bored city-dwellers decided we wuz Slavs and shit. Also you can't really erase a nation over the course of 300 years.
There's a large part of Germany, northern France, Belgium and southern Netherland that is Celto-Germanic too. For example here the most outspoken Celtic element you'll find not in Wallonia like the name suggests, but in the coastal regions of Flanders.
Figures, since Celts were really numerous, most adopted a different culture throughoiut history and intermixed, but it is still visible in people's faces (and some local cultural habits)
Elijah Edwards
Thanks for the wiki page.
Also, i know that ditch your culture is a insult, but would not be better speak German to be in their circle of influence? Yes, i know that German nowadays is pretty much a useless language, but back in time, it probably it was worth a lot...
Another stupid question. Why Slovenia get independence?
>be Pole >we iz indestructible nation n shiet >meanwhile Czechs are so autistic that they just decided to stop being Germans
Chase Miller
>a bunch of bored city-dwellers decided we wuz Slavs and shit
It was city the dwellers that propelled the use of Czech? That's interesting because in Slovenia, Slovene language was almost entirely limited to the countryside.
Nathaniel Diaz
Of course german make more sense
But this was more about politics since slavic people were majority in austria-hungary empire
Adrian Cruz
That was the decision of Mečiar and Klaus, not the will of people.
Andrew Morales
Same but "liberals" from Prague started this movement in the pub...btw that pub is still there
so basically you've just been told what was completely obvious before, which is that Slavs are a linguistic group, not so much an ethnic one. This is not news to anybody who doesn't get their information about central-eastern Europe from Sup Forums and Sup Forums.
Tyler Watson
We weren't under rule of Czechs so """we""" decided our independence. Czechoslovakia was country of both nations where both were equal.
But we became independent because of politicans, God knows if we would still be one country when we would have a referendum instead of 2 politicans deciding our future.
Grayson Hall
Only Irish people are Celtic.
Charles Watson
Our hockey would be fucking awesome
Satan to Jagr and he scores
Aiden James
no
also you're mixed with Iberians from the beginning, with Germanics over time, and Irish isn't even your first language, so no puritynigger bullshit from you
Andrew Gray
But the relations between your two countries must be pretty good, right?
Christian Campbell
>autists not understanding haplomemes again Haplomemes don't work the way you think they do. Take for example Czech Republic which is about 30-35% r1a (slavic among others). This doesn't mean that the average Czech is only 30-35% Slavic, it means that 30-35% of Czechs trace their roots to a male ancestor carrying the r1a gene.
This is not that special as far as Slavic countries go considering that 20-40% r1a is the norm in eastern Europe except for Poland and parts of Russia where it's at or over 50%.
Genetics and haplomemes are of course much more complicated than most people think. R1a is not necessarily Slavic and r1b is not necessarily celtic, germanic or west European.
Take Croatia as an example. 25% "Slavic" or r1a, 40-50% l2a1 or native western Balkanite, 15% r1b or western European etc. What this means is that 40-50% of the Croatian population traces their roots to native balkanite men, 25% trace their roots to Slavic men, 15% to western European men etc.
Jaxson Brown
I was closing some of my tabs, when i found this map. >Vagabondia Vagabundo in Portuguese is quite an insult...

Never mind, it was just american banter. >Those identifying with the term could even relate this spoof “Map of Bohemia” by humorist Frank Gelett Burgess of California. The map appears to show the east side of San Francisco Bay as it was in the 1890’s, particularly Oakland and Berkeley.

Naturally, you do know what a subclade is? It doesn't stop at R1a, that is why the correct notition is R1a* note the asterix.
The typical subclade associated with West-Slavic people is R1a-M458 aka R1a1a1b1a1*, you can refine it even further, for example R-L260 (aka R1a1a1b1a1a aka Gwozdz's Cluster P) is specifically associated with Polish people.
I haven't seen the paper yet but it is safe to assume that anno 2017 the authors took the analysis beyond the mere haplogroup, the more you refine the subclade the more recent the mutation the more you can pinpoint origin and migration patterns. It is safe to assume the authors are well aware of this.

>it's not her fault.

Yes. We like each other, yes sometimes we do a little puns etc. but we are friends and brothers. We can understand each other aswell.
Part of my family lives in Czech Republic, my grand granddad was in Czechoslovak army in east in WWII (was part of Slovak State army, but switched sides in 1941) etc. I have a lot of in common with Czechs. I also live in area where I hear Czech language neraly everyday because of tourism.
Brody Ward
this I look like an Anatolian Turk, but I am a Slav, cause I speak Slav and I have a Slavic name. Not my fault that centuries ago my grand-grand-grand-father got cucked by Osmanli Aga. I am the victim here.
Logan Lee
The language was kind of surviving in the country-side thanks to priests, but it was not standardised. It took some serious autism to mold it into a modern language and make the whole country speak it.
>but would not be better speak German to be in their circle of influence? Sure, but nationalism was hip back then.
Joshua Parker
Hence you are culturally a Slav, but not an ethnic one. Ethnically you are most likely derived from the native Balkan population of antiquity.
Again why do you autists have such a problem with the fact that there is a difference between the ethnic definition and the cultural definition? The ethnic one can be determined by exact scientific method, the cultural one is how you were born and raised. Simple as that.
