What is Sup Forums's opinion of the homeless? I for one, do not believe it is my responsibility to drive less of a car or live in a smaller house, so that we can provide the homeless with free shit. Why must I have less so that they can have more and live continue to live their lifestyle of shitty decisions and addiction?

Every law regarding the homeless is now completely overlooked and unenforced in Los Angeles. Basically the filthy disgusting homeless have taken over PUBLIC sidewalks and are living rent free while breaking every single city ordinance pertaining to them. It's sick beyond belief.

In my experience, most if not all homelessness is self inflicted. even gentrification is avoidable to a certain extent. I've been living on my own since i was 17, and there have been multiple times where i could have been homeless if i had just given up and stopped trying. homeless people are lazy, unmotivated and usually addicted to drugs. I've met maybe 4 homeless people who weren't actively trying to get money or a cigarette out of me.

I do what I can to help them. I'm not rich and don't own a house, but I give some money when I pass them begging in the street.

They sell the medications they get for money to take more meth or heroin or alcohol. They can get housing, food, shelter, work, medications, EVERYTHING if they chose to enroll in these programs, receive drug counseling, and be drug and alcohol free. Yet they don't.

additionally, at least in the usa, most of these "free help" cards are extremely limited. I know in my city there are 3 homeless shelters, and it only houses and feeds a small percentage of the people that are actually on the street. not everyone can get the help they need.
