how to lean Trigonometry
how do i remember math? if a person says something times this- i'll can't tell you but a game i get them correct.
Trigonometry is how to do functions like cosine, sine and tan, lemme look it up because I forgot everything about that
So just to reiterate what's on the picture, so Sine is the angle opposite over the hypotenuse.
sineA=opposite/hypotenuse=a/c
cosA=adjacent/hypotenuse=b/c
tanA=opposite/adjacent=a/b=(a/c)/(b/c)=sinA/cosA
so we can see that since we're always dealing with right triangles with a 90 degree angle, the side farthest from the 90 degree is always the longest (see c on the diagram). This is called the hypotenuse
so what you want are multiplication tables
The easy way to do math quickly is called common core, and it's the way to turn things that are not familiar into something familiar quickly and do it and then get the difference to the result
So essentially with these 6 formulae you can take what you know about any triangle, as long as you know two sides and and angle or two angles and a side, to reason your way to all the other information
So what we're going to do with the multiplication tables is we're going to memorize them one step at a time
The first thing that is easiest, is 0 times anything is 0, and 1 times anything is always the same number
So since what we know about angle HX is that it is 51 degrees, and we know the value of the opposite side 10, we're going to apply a formula to figure out H first
sinA=opposite/hypotenuse so that's going to be our useful formula to figure out H, the hypotenuse
sin(51)=10/H
we plug that in and the value we get for sin(51) is 0.67022917584
So 0.67=10/H
sorry that sin calculator is wrong what we wanted for the sin(51) was 0.7771459614569708799799377436724
so 0.78=10/H
Multiply both sides by H and we get
0.78H=10
Divide both sides by 0.78 and we get
H=10/0.78=12.82
This example they are rounding to 2 significant figures so we're just calling H 13
Now we want to find x, and the useful formula for us is tan.
tanA=opposite/adjacent
so tan(51)=10/x
or by conversion, x=10/tan(51)
We get that conversion by multiplying both sides by x
x(tan51))=10
and then dividing by tan(51) on both sides
x=10/tan(51)
Please stop. I just remembered all this from Geometry.
ok I am going to help multiplication bro
So multiplication we're just going to have to memorize 1-12 and get a baseline you can refer back to for lager numbers
Let's start with squares, or numbers x themselves
1x1=1
2x2=4
3x3=9
4x4=16
5x5=25
6x6=36
7x7=49
8x8=64
9x9=81
10x10=100
11x11=121
12x12=144
So we're just going to memorize those to start, 1-5 are really easy but they get harder from 6-12 so I'm going to show you a shortcut if you forget
10's and 5's are really easy because anything x10 you just add a zero, like 10x3=30 and 133x10=1330
Really easy right?
5 is anything times ten divided by two.
so 5x30=300/2=150
5x198=1980/2=990
and so on
Common core is a way to do math quickly, we can get there by doing multiples of 10 and then adding or subtracting the rest.
So 569x11 is going to be the same as (569x10)+569=5690+569=6259
So let's say you are in the US and you want to give a tip
If you want to give 15% the easy way to multiply it by common core is to take 10% and then multiply it by 1.5
So if my bill is $60, the tip is (6+3)=9$
