>America lost Vietnam
How is this myth still going around? Are people so envious and fearful of America that they will accept any lie that they're told about it?

I fear to consider that state of education in countries without an Ivy league or serious university system. These ignorant and resentful dogs can't even name a single battle America actually lost in Vietnam! How can people be so foolish?

>Sup Forums

They didn't lose the war though did they? They were on the winning side.

Italians named your country you ungrateful scum fuckrag.

Jonah threads on Sup Forums are hilarious, seeing actual butthurt americans over this feels amazing

We lost

remember when you guys had to force Walt Disney to make a brazilian character to convince us to fight by your side in WWII? Good times

Kek why are the Burgers posting?

We were on the losing side of the Crimean War

Because they think the War of 1812 was a draw due to 200 year old propaganda, Vietnam was a military victory and only ended due to political opposition, and Afghanistan and Iraq are too confusing for them to understand. They also have the childish notion that victory in war is a K:D issue.

Sorry

waging wars against jungle injuns only isn't really something to brag about

I think I understood the reference

The US has never lost a war in which it had to relinquish control of land or offer reparations of any kind.

Any “loss” the US has ever suffered as a result of war was simply a failed attempt to gain something.

that's more of a portuguese civil war 2bh

It is, but if a new nation borns as a consequence, we can say it won the war.
eg, the American Revolution or even the Reconquista.

>South America, a continent with not even one university of note, is questioning the academic judgement of the United States, the intellectual hub of the planet

>have best universities reserved for non americans

We're not questioning the "academic judgement of the United States". Instead, we're questioning a typical goblin.

You are clearly too stupid to attend an American university if you actually think this. Harvard's student body is 90% American, as are all elite universities.

Ah,you never lost to uruguay?

always funny how americans go in full damage control when their "WE WUZ #1 N SHIET" bubble is about to burst

It's clear you don't attend any of those institutions if you think your arguments are worth any more than the Brazilian's here, just because you happen to live on a country with Ivy league colleges

Vietnam was just a single battle in the real war called the Cold War. We lost the battle, but won the overall war.

Bringing up Vietnam as though it’s some terrible loss in US history is just a desparate attempt to find some weakness in the armor of America’s continued world domination.

There were no consequences for losing that war. Vietnam in now a US ally, it’s government is only Communist in name, and the country itself is completely Americanized.

The War of 1812 officially ended in 1814 but you lost the port city of Eastport, Maine (then Massachusetts) until it was given back in 1917. So you did "lose" something as the result of a war for 3 years after the war.

hi

Why didn't America learn from Australia in Vietnam?
You guys literally begged us to teach you how to play war with the nips and every battle we fought for you cunts we won easily so what the fuck was Americas excuse for losing the war?

Lack of listening skills?
Seems to have carried on in every war you have been involved in after nam too, drag us in to do your dirty work, we show you how it is done and still America does not fucking listen when we tell them how to kill nips or sand niggers.

what gives mate?

no no no you see, the war of 1812 was actually just a battle of the US versus the World, so the US might have lost that battle, but the war is yet to be concluded
either that or they intentionally lost that war to lull you into an strategic false sense of security
or something like that, I don't know, ask this guy

fucking emus

It was a war mate and you lost it. You declared war on a state, your objective was to defeat North Vietnam which you didn't.

I'll give you an example, Your war on terror, If you can't defeat the major terrorists groups in Iraq and Afghanistan, and you withdraw, you concede defeat to those terrorists groups by your own definition of the purpose of war.

Your point on allies, Germany declared war on the UK, lost and is now an ally. The point still stands, Germany lost.

Perhaps you should choose your wars more carefully, because you still haven't defeated Taliban or at least know how to win wars from history.

Btw, You actually never declared war against the USSR did you? It was a civil war that ended USSR. Boris Yeltsin won that war.

said the country that declared war against toilets

tell me this is fake Sup Forums i don't want to believe it

How is it like being Germany's bitch?

it was a war since a war is a series of armed conflict events and a battle is a single event from that series.
Even though it was operating under the agenda of the cold war the US still took on a campaign to defeat north vietnam as military and political objective.
The vietnam war is memed a lot in pop media but you did lost that war senpai

whats it like having shit all through your streets?

new worlders and their dumb """"""historical""""""" achievements

Have you prayed to your emu overlord yet?

What fucking war are you even talking about?

>YOU BE HAVIN NO PROOFS THAT WE DUN LOST
>*gets shown proofs*
>DEM PROOFS BE WRONG

whats it like literally losing to emus?

Confirmed

I like this thread. Feels good to be with all the other warpowers here.

The Vietnam War is really no different than just one of many series of conflicts in older European wars that are named “## year’s war”. The ultimate goal of the Vietnam War in a vacuum wasn’t to keep just Vietnam from going communist. The US didn’t give a shit if one country was communist. What it cared about was keeping a lot of countries from going communist to cease the Soviet reach of influence worldwide.

Nowadays, the US doesnt give a fuck if some country wants to be communist. We are allied with a few countries that are officially communist. There’s no longer an association with communism and the USSR which is what we actually cared about.

What was lost in Vietnam is we sent some kids to die for nothing. But the standard in which the US lost Vietnam is like unironically saying Australia lost a war to Emus.

Denmark has never, EVER, lost a war

> New Zealand
Still annoys me that even one of our men died fighting in that stupid war.

Listen to the emu , It's almost like you aren't prepared to kill decisively.

Burgers are the experts at being defeated after an indecisive victory.

You would be the unquestionable superpower by now in Asia and Europe with Australia and Canada doing your dirty work in respective continents.

Instead you have slav media obsession, Chinese taking your money and UK running to you because of bad mommy Merkel.

Here I come to reporting

The best way to beat an ideology is to completely annihilate the nation. That's why you don't see Nazi parties in Europe.

You lost the war and that means you lost the chance of being a superpower in Asia.

You still are at war with a communist country, North Korea, so you still have a huge chance of being a worldwide superpower. The question is, Can you win that one?

>we wuz

>India is the voice of reason in this day and age

We have never fought an actuall war, so...

Well if the Coto War counts... we technically won that.

>US holds all cards to world domination and people still claim they would rather migrate to some Eastern European country because of niggers

The US used real tactics against slants in WW2 because of the stakes involved.

Vietnam wasn’t worth utalizing such brutality. We could’ve won Vietnam if we used more extreme fighting tactics but it just wasn’t worth it. The war was a mistake. It wasn’t important enough to forsake basic humanity. Americans will claw and scrape in a defensive war, but on the offensive, we aren’t willing to go that far.

We lost Vietnam because we weren’t willing to be more savage, which was the right thing to do. It have only been more right to never have fought in the first place.

Get out
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_invasion_of_Panama

Never forget 1812 when we burnt down the White House

>Vietnam wasn’t worth utalizing such brutality.
>We lost Vietnam because we weren’t willing to be more savage

>napalm entire villages
>burn jungle gooks alive
>execute old men and women for not giving up Viet-Cong hideouts
>drop more bombs in Vietnam than WWII
wew

you lost the cisplatine war you monkey.
Uruguay is no longer part of brazil...

We did not lost it idiot.
There was a truce and england determined that Uruguay would no longer be part of Brazil, but neither would it be a part of Argenigga.

It was a tie, argenegro

That's just it, you are better and decisive at defensive wars. You seem to hesitate at the finish line.

It's also the same reason why you didn't blanket nuclear bomb the Korean-China border.

You win the war and you would have been a competing superpower in Asia.

Japan is your best work till date.

>Ties with a country in civil war that used modified whaler ships to fight against the brazilian navy

Kekão

Just check the sources wikipedia use. The overwhelming majority of the times the page uses good sources.

Hi

I’ve personally been to a Vietnam war museum in Vietnam m8. Yeah, we did some fucked shit, but we could’ve done far worse if we were willing to. We used a half-measure strategy in that war. Bad enough to feel guilty, but not bad enough to not be able live with the guilt. Ultimately we pulled out not because we weren’t capable of winning, but because we weren’t willing to do what it would take to do so,

We would've one veitnam, 1812 was a stalemate

>Bad enough to feel guilty
Why? They were gommies and fought like primitives, who cares.

You only feel guilty because you didn't win the war. You don't feel guilty if you completely annihilate your enemies. That is why nobody apologizes for taking over West Germany or you over Japan.

Neither US soldiers or our civilian populace could stomach going any further than we did. It was the first war broadcast on TV, and it run Americans down. Soldiers were unmotivated because the Southern locals didn’t adamantly want us there, and civilians continually had to watch the awful war on TV. It wasn’t like WW1 or WW2 where our arrival was heralded and we felt like heros. We felt like the aggressors fighting for people that themselves didn’t even care that much for what we were fighting for.

There was no pride in that war.

That’s wrong. Japan attacked us. Americans have always fought stronger on the defensive. The US has absolutely smashed every opponent in a defensive war, but apprehensive and soft in aggressive wars.

You had victory, you had the treaty signed and the South Vietnamese in control. It was the presidential policy after impeachment of Nixon that lost you that war.

That's down to lack of ruthlessness.

Most of the country was in favor of the US and against the Noriega regimen. So we won that as well.
