How do Christian Republicans justify Trump? Mammon personified with xenophobia thrown in. Isn’t that antithetical to the faith?

Christianity is more about identifying as christian than actually being christian nowadays.

I’m going to get breakfast at chick-fil-a right now. You want anything, OP?

why does he need to be a christian

Since they officially reversed their position on homosexuality due to protestors? I’m not sure how I feel about that one. On one had they did the right thing, but on the other it was for the wrong reason. Is it ethically okay to eat there now?

The values he represents aren’t Christian. What he’s doing is Christian. So how do they reconcile?

>more about identifying as
>then actually being

That pretty much covers most of this bs.

Isn’t Christian I mean. Even by the most nihilistic cynical interpretation of the religion.

I mean they literally think that all you have to do is believe that Jesus is the son of God. Evangelicals have thrown everything else out. The only thing that matters is the covenant. They're retarded and will burn in 'hell' aka now.

Come on, Christians of b/! Witness for us!

How is the world they are living in hell? international.la-croix.com/news/gospel-of-prosperity-the-oft-trodden-path-to-salvation/11043#

They’re making millions off that bs

You have used a person of color as reaction image, which is cultural appropriation, bigot.

Yeah. We know you’re out there. Come for the tranny porn, stay for the conversation

That’s not how that works

There is nothing to justify, as there is nothing wrong with trump. You are just a liar.

reconcile with who/what?

>Isn’t that antithetical to the faith?
The typical american christian is unknowingly conditioned to believe that Jesus is white instead of being a mix of arab/middle eastern/hasidic, and as such they use that to identify with and justify whatever they feel they need to believe in order to not feel cognitive dissonance over how they treat and feel about people different that themselves. Trump personifies their fear and need for adulation in a world that is so far removed from what the bible says both socially and scientifically that it doesn't matter to them that he acts in direct contrast to any of the what Jesus tried to teach about compassion, love for all people regardless of who they are or what their social standing is, or how excess wealth is a force of corruption. Personally I find it to be very ironic, as he is essentially an archetypal antichrist figure, ruling over his followers by instigation of fear and hatred, instead of through hope, tolerance, and brotherly love.

But, that's how congestive dissonance works.

Yes it does. You need reduction, racist.

>congestive
cognitive. gotta stop relying on auto correct.

The Republicans since Raegan have cultivated a relationship between themselves and the Evangelical movement - suggesting that they are the party of values, family, faith etc.

This is particularly odd as the free-market globalist agenda is all about ripping up anything that gets in the way of business, weakening these institutions in practice (how does family work if you have to drive to the next city each day to get to money - while wife and kids live and work/study where you live, which is probably not where your parents/grandparents live - lots of people in the US live like this.) But they always got around this but identifying with the Bush's, Romney etc as pious men who will try to undo Roe vs Wade.

You would have to be a fool to imagine that Trump gives a damn about values, faith, family etc Yet the Evangelicals swung behind him in the same way. Are they lying to themselves? Do they hate Latinos more than they believe in the word of God? Voting Trump just doesn't seem very Christian - I know the Democrats are seen as ideological enemies but why not just not vote rather than throw your weight and reputation behind a known cheat, fornicator, faithless money-grabbing and rapacious liar? It completely damages their credibility as a group that is pious and morally upright and destroyed the Republican's obligation to ever hold onto their side of the deal ever again.

The vast majority of evangelicals are not rich preachers you retard.

Christianity as we know it in the west is so far from the apostolic version that it's an insult.

Their own religious values. Their consciences

You know nothing of Christianity or Trump. Read a book

Enlighten us with a quick rundown of what you have learned from these books, oh learned one...

He doesn't believe in a crass, manipulative social theorycraft in which minimizes some and aggrandizes some based on their skin color, probably because they think that's racist. Intersectionality theory is such divisive trash that half the country would rather hear Donald Trump talk every day. I'm going to vote for him again because literally anyone is better than a blood sucking nu-Eugenicist husk, god and if that wasn't enough, backed up by an army of masked sycophant college drunk-brats who destroy property in their own community and aren't afraid to attack children and the elderly to top it off.

I barely even had a personal identity until you defined it by attacking non-changeable aspects of it, in violation of your own rules and professed goals. I don't think you understand that poorer, less educated people take your ideas and strip them down to just "attack whites, attack men, sabotage, destroy, BLEEP BLOOP". That's their takeaway from intersectional theory: attack. You're being blamed for that because you deserve to be blamed for that.

SJW are the fucking next white spaz, the next white oppression, they themseves are everything they supposedly hate about other people. They're the rich assholes talking down and what you and all shitheads that help them need is a mirror so you can see yourself being a fucking clown.

That it’s okay to commit genocide and rape in the name of god if you sincerely mean it.

Nice list of whataboutisms.

So because you see the other side as evil due to a few idiots running amok on college campuses you’re voting for the tiki torch guy instead just to piss people off?

Oh look, people with an intact brain posting on /b. That’s a rare sight.

Turning over the educational system to a bunch of eugenicist freaks who've dispensed with the entire idea of quantitative research isn't a whataboutism, it's an explanation of Trump's position. You lost because of SJW eugenics being disturbing and disgusting, you're going to keep losing because of it. You wanted to know why Christians would vote for Mammon and the answer is it's a lot safer than voting for Satan, heh, or Leviathan. There's some internal disagreement about what sin motivates people like you, Envy is too generous I think, Wrath seems more correct.

People like me? Reagan Republicans?

Do not have to like the man, to love his policies.

But those aren’t particularly Christian either.

Name one thing that you think is not compatible with Christianity

> mammon
I want my king to be rich through building skyscrapers.
> xenophobia
I want my king to like my people better than others.

The choice was between him and a literal demon personified. Maybe if Democrats would stop pushing out giant logs of shit and then dressing them up as their candidate, we might vote differently.

>i vote for guy who can't spell
thats how you retards sound

Cognitive dissonance can justify ANYthing

npr.org/2016/02/18/467229313/pope-says-trump-is-not-christian

Imagine being such a loser you debate religion and politics with people who don’t care on an anonymous anime image board lmao.

He’s mammon personified. A literal demon as you put it.

Fuck, I'll bite.

1. There are none perfect but Jesus. If perfection is a requirement for voting into office then we couldn't have elections.

2. Money is not evil and does make people evil. Valuing money (or anything) more than God is evil. God has granted many, even several in scripture, vast wealth.

3. While he is guilty of many sins (divorce, etc), he isn't guilty of being "xenophobe" or anything else as the left claims (while most of them are).
3a. Building a wall isn't fucking racist at all. The vatican has a wall, God told Isreal to build wall around Jerusalem, fucking HEAVEN HAS A WALL.

4. Jesus was NOT a socialist (not even close). He did command, give to the poor, care/love on another, and so forth, but called on people as individuals to do so, NOT by the force of the government, nor did He even force it on anyone. Jesus promoted freedom and responsibility on a personal level (the conservative/capitalist way basically).

>(divorce, etc)
etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.......
really glossed over that one...

Trump has a 14.5 inch penis, making him the perfect male specimen. He was created by God in God's image.

Correct. It's a tribal mentality but with ZERO substance.

And it also seems to be about identifying as a white Christian, since they have zero qualms about throwing countless (brown) Christian kids into concentration camps.

Seriously, if you're a God-fearing person, you should really worry how that will appear to Heaven. Trump's Christians are like the Romans who threw Christians to lions, and it's easier to enter the eye of a needle than be rich and get into heaven.

How do "Christian" republicans justify their allegiance to Trump? They are bigots not Christians who find the justification for their bigotry in the Bible

Attached: MU1BmBg.png.jpg (960x958, 292K)

Ironic, since Trump has a lot in common with such Biblical antagonists like Ramses II, Herod, Pontius Pilate, etc. He's locked up who-knows-how-many Christians in cages, including children.

I mean come on. The "Gospel Of Prosperity" directly contradicts something said in the Bible: the richer you are, the harder it is to get into Heaven. To get into Heaven, it's better not to be drowning in money.

(The Gospel of Prosperity is the ridiculous idea that the more devout you are, the more money you will receive. This is absurd, directly ignoring the "eye of the needle" quote. Trump, by virtue of being absurdly rich alone, is extremely unlikely to see Heaven)

I don't think most religious people ACTUALLY believe... otherwise why would they do the shitty things they do?

Honestly? A completely selfish motive. He gives THEM things, and just them alone. It's akin to accepting bribes.

Is it any wonder the credibility of so much of Christianity is shot to hell now? They'd follow the literal antichrist if he offered them fucking school prayer and went to church regularly.

Oh they believe. They believe the stuff that kisses their ass and aligns with their inner hatreds.

All that other stuff about compassion, love, turning the other cheek? Fuck that noise, I want "Muh Gospel Of Prosperity" and locking up any Christian who isn't white.

If this is not bait, you are a fucking fool

If God can't use sinners then he can't use any of us you fucking atheist kike

You really think we shouldn't be letting more Christians into this country, reforming our immigration system for this purpose?

I mean they say we're a Christian nation right? That Christianity is under attack? So why are we locking up OTHER Christians? The fuck sense does that make?

And don't get me that shit about the law. Laws can be changed.

>"I'm the most Christian President who ever lived. Now watch me as I lock up a ton of Christians and pull their kids out of the arms of their own mothers. Watch me boast about how I could commit murder with immunity. Let me demonstrate my truly demonic personality, so you can ignore it all and praise me as your savior."

>"Post-script: the missiles are flying. Hallelujah. Hallelujah."

The ONLY justification you need is that Hillary supported abortion and Trump was against it. Trump helped get some Republican supreme court justices who could go against abortion at some point. Hillary sure as fuck wouldn't have.

>Christianity is more about identifying as christian than actually being christian nowadays.

See, the left has latched onto this formula. It's more about being a leftist than actually knowing what that means.

What good is that if you destroy Christianity in the process? You crucified mankind on a cross on gold.

How is Christianity destroyed? If anything the current pope is the one destroying Christianity with his liberal views.

Follow the devil, people assume you're a demon. Trump might as well have horns growing out of his head, for all the moral character he lacks.

>You crucified mankind on a cross on gold
Oh, Fuck Off. Trump may shit into a gilded toilet, himself, but how has he been bad for American Christians overall?

Trump may not be the Antichrist, but he's proven to all Republican Christians would happily follow him if he said some stuff about school prayer and abortion.

Uh, he's exposed your true modern nature fully. And it's ugly as fuck.

A better question: Why do non-Christians keep trying to tell Christians what they believe?

Daddy farwell said he was holy after a totally not suspicious situation involving a poolboy the farwells picked up and took on vacations and helped build a gay hostel and eventually sued over explicit photos of the farwells he somehow got and in which the farwells were represented by the now in-prison Cohen.

Forgot to mention, Cohen is in prison for crimes that were directed by trump and for which trump is an unindicted (because of the issue of Presidential prosecutability) co-conspirator dubbed "individual one" in court documents.

Because the hypocrisy is so fucking glaringly obvious any sane person needs to actively hold themselves back from commenting.

Because it's in a fucking rule book made by fucking Christians moron.

The American right doesn't worship Jesus they worship the GOP.

They certainly practice the alarming notion of conflating the GOP with the Bible, when a ton of Republican tenets are are odds WITH the Bible.

Black and Hispanic churches are closer to actual Christianity (since "woke" white liberals tend to be atheists and secular, thus preventing said churches from being corrupted by political power).

And before you start, a lot of Democrats tend to think Christianity is this hateful thing precisely because of what the Republican Party has done to it. It's why they're running away from the church.

Republicans, you did this.

Seriously, I can't go to a predominately white church in the south without feeling instinctively like I'm surrounded by hypocritical hatemongers.
