As a historian; there were 4 succesfull and 2 unsuccesfull (and 1 fake) coups in the history of modern Turkey. This was the worst coup ever.
1/3 of Ottoman Sultans were deposed by either coup or rebellion. This was the worst coup in Turkish history.
It is looks like a false flag. All government officals were giving reportage from their houses and no one went to their houses to arrest them.
There are certain to do's when you want to a coup in Turkey, (arrest PM and members of parliament, sieze government buildings, inform USA) and the plotters didnt even tried to do those thibgs.
