I mean, they claim they don't store any information about you or track you in any way. That's really all we know unless it comes out otherwise. It isn't the first search engine to not do that, so it isn't impossible that they their claims are true.

It's the default search engine on Tor browser, and Tor is as of right now the most privacy-oriented browser that is available to the public, regardless of any dissenting opinions. So yes, it's a good engine to use, and most likely the best one. Useful features such as selecting the country from which you want the results to be displayed are nice as well.
