I tested this map a few days ago. Now I've updated it so its a bit more balanced, Moscow is a bit more geographically correct etc. I've also adjusted the rules slightly. I also made it look nicer.
First version wasn't as carefully thought through, I hope this one is much better. There's about 8-12 attractive looking starting locations now I think.

We will start in about 10-20 minutes, I'm going afk for 5 mins while we wait for people to join :-) I hope to have mupdates very 15(+-5) minutes. Last time I was a bit slow but got faster.

the only difference is that in order to take over or claim the cities you have to surround them first, and its a small difference from normal risk rules, but the only problem I can see in this is if your trying to push back a faction to claim the city it could take a while but then again I could be wrong.
