Screen Engine/ComScore’s PostTrak audience polls show that Asian Americans bought tickets to watch Ghost and even enjoyed the film. They repped 13% of Ghost‘s audience, on par with the demo’s turnout for Arrival (14%, $24M), Passengers (12%, $14.9M opening) and xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage (14%, $20.1M FSS), the latter which featured several Asian stars including Donnie Yen and Wu Yifan. Zero percent gave Ghost a poor rating. Of the Asian Americans who watched Ghost, 93% gave it a good, very good or excellent rating, which isn’t that far from Caucasians, Hispanics (both 97%) and African Americans (94%)
When are people going to learn that only SJWs care about that shit and are a minority?
Connor Richardson
The movie could be good with Katana as the Major but insteadcwe got this fatty
Justin Wood
Great to hear! But that doesn't change get the fact that the movie's shit!
Jack Harris
>still trying to justify this whitewash anti asian failure
lmao
Samuel Lopez
it's only Sup Forums thats upset
Daniel Jones
Thats nice and all, but that only proves plebs come in any flavour. The movie was absolute ass and Johanson is a terrible actress that even when playing a robot she completely sucks.
Logan Garcia
It's so easy to spot a shill for this movie because they bring up whitewashing as if anyone on Sup Forums gives a shit about it.
Wyatt Scott
>even when playing a robot
This is the problem, she played it like she was a robot but the Major is very human, that's the whole point.
Jaxon Brown
sjw media wants to adjudicate themselves the relative failure of the movie, because of completely unrelated causes, as a small triumph of his bullshit nonsense.
they probably still believe 2016 ghost busters was a success
Jacob Butler
>not antje traue...
Jace Price
the movie wasn't that bad
its a solid flick.
Camden Hughes
Nobody in the world gives a shit, least of all Japanese people. These SJW cucks make a living out of being offended by anything on behalf of people they don't represent.
Nathaniel Ross
This movie was a sin, and made me hate hollywood even more.
Wyatt Turner
"SEE? ASIANS LIKE OUR FILM SO IT'S TOTALLY NOT RACIST!" lol is this the new "i'm not racist I have a black friend"?
Ryan Jones

Will liberals ever recover?

Everyone in Japan is familiar with the art style and knows the characters are white.

>Hollywood’s live action Ghost in the Shell movie has apparently flopped as it has only generated about $18 million in box office takings ($40.1 million internationally) during its opening weekend, with the film’s excoriation by anime fans now backed up by regular critics… Though the film managed to land at #3 at the U.S. box office, its $58.1 million in sales come nowhere near its $110 million production costs (excluding the likely gargantuan marketing budget) – and considering opening weekends are usually when movies make the most money, it is likely only downhill from here. Despite some immediately claiming the whitewashing controversy to be the major cause of Ghost in the Shell’s downfall, the colossal abundance of negative reviews imply that the film itself might have also played a role as most believed the story failed to properly utilize the complex issues of cyborg identity which characterized the original. The film’s failure has proved shocking to few as live action adaptations of popular anime tend to commonly share the same fate – the only upside to the disaster perhaps being how fat Masamune Shirow’s wallet must be by now…

>Everyone in Japan is familiar with the art style and knows the characters are white. And your proof is a sequence of screencaps with little to no context? That prove the average Japanese knows nothing about the industry?
Boy, do I feel dumb now.
Julian Kelly
So will hollywood stop trying and failling, or will we get to enjoy Naruto, Death Note, Beyblade, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Akira flopping?
Jayden Martinez
>Asian-Americans watched and enjoyed Ghost in the Shell So this proves that American chinks have awful taste. I could have told you that.
