Yeah I do it all the time at restaurants
no but it is mandatory we sit on the roof of the house to bond with our children.
>tfw Bender and Allison never became a thing
> no school shooting at the third act
Unrealistic movie to be honest
of course they do. they even have a national holiday specifically so they can do this all day.
how old are you?
In our 80s high school kinos, yes
We used to but then we discovered the Macerena, and never looked back.
only did it in the 80's man.
Maybe if you're some fairy from Greenpoint.
This whole movie is confusing to a non-American like me.
One thing that bothers me: I know schools have detention and stuff, but are they really allowed to keep them in school all day on a Saturday? What if you have to visit family or have to work or something else important?
It's not all day its just for the morning. If i am remembering correctly it was from 8 to noon. I got it a few times for skipping.
Americans are cucks
The porn parody of this is kino
Is Breakfast Club worth watching or is it just another meme classic movie?
you should watch it at least once
The latter.
Allison is hot though.
The ending shits all over her character though.
Fuck the movie for the ending.
If you fuck off at school and waste time you're sent to saturday school to make up the work you missed.
And yes, if you don't show up they can legally send a truancy cop to your house to take you to school.
Unless you have a medical emergency/excuse or a family member is dying, tough shit. You fucked up; it's the price you pay for being a cunt in HS.
maybe reddit does
Wow. It's literally against the law to skip school over there. So I'm assuming homeschooling isn't a thing? I guess you can get a better education by going to a good private school, but not everyone can afford that.
America sounds more and more fucked with each new piece of information I learn about it.
It's not really a movie I could see myself sitting down and enjoying for the first time as an adult. You've probably missed out on being able to enjoy it.
Of course homeschooling is a thing here.
>it's the price you pay for being a cunt in HS.
From what I remember in the movie, the students showed clear signs of mental illness. Does the school just not care if the student is sick? They really are punished instead of being treated and understood?
>It's literally against the law to skip school over there
It has to be, otherwise the vast majority of the black kids would never go.
What better things do 15 year old kids have to do with their time. They're not working. They're probably just sitting at home, high, and shit posting on Sup Forums when they could be learning how not to be a neet
>mental illness
>real
choose 1
What kind of shit tier third world country do you live in where they don't do this?
white schools will generally enforce truancy violoations, because they have higher standards. I went to a groid high school that had less than a 40% graduation rate and truancy was so rampant that it was un-enforceable
homeschooling is a thing but creates weirdos
japanese high schools are objectively the best though
It was a different time, the school system wasn't as worried about mental illnesses back then unless they were really obvious, like schizophrenia or homosexuality.
Heh we do that shit all the time, especially after a hit. One time I took a marijuana cigarette and even sucked my friend's dick. It was hil air ee ows!
Of course homeschool is a thing. Truancy is more about them making sure you're not kidnapped or being abused at home or some shit. Up until they graduate highschool education is basically daycare unless the student actually gives a shit, and is more about not having a bunch of teenagers fucking around all day
if the school says a child may have a mental illness then they have to pay for a portion of the treatment
>japanese high schools are objectively the best though
>Japanese high schools are objectively the best though
You know this from personal experience? Do you have facts to support this claim? Or are you basing it on idealizations from cartoons?
>America sounds more and more fucked with each new piece of information I learn about it.
You are right. Do not come here, ever.
Why the fuck is this a cult movie? It aged terribly and it's fucking retarded and unrealistic.
Because the people who bred and raised their kids told them it was; while all the patrician movies of the 80s were forgotten by all except people who will not breed.
ive done my research and there's several metanalyis out there backing it
youtube.com
>implying that doesnt look fun as fuck
>implying you wouldn't be excited to go to school every day
even the creepy kids look happy
why? there must be some nice places to live over there right?
Nope. America is a nazi facist dictatorship ran by a close knit group of pedojews who conduct child sacrifice for demonic purposes. We're also full to capacity. Do not come - EVER.
>japanese high schools are objectively the best though
Are you talking about the schools where the bibliothecary gets shit on because he was trying to get kids to the school's library and read a book rather than kill themselves?
It's because we don't want annoying shitposters in our country. Go back to Sup Forums.
I have never heard of anyone having detention on Saturday outside of this kino, but apparently others in this thread have. My father would have called the school and told them to fuck off because he wanted me to do shit around the house.
South African schools look super comfy and way more fun than Asian schools
LA is okay just don't breathe the air
NYC is okay just don't interact with the people
why does he talk like a chinese person
My school had it all. Detention after school, on weekends, suspension, IN-SCHOOL suspension, summer school, and if those all failed to shape up the little shit we also dumped all of our trash into a detention school for all the other shitheads who weren't going anywhere in life.
Cabin fever makes you do silly things
If you have to go to the bathroom during class in America you need to get a written permit from the teacher to show the corridor soldiers or they will arrest you.
>you will never go to a school filled with japanese schoolgirls with huge asses
kill me
>even the creepy kids look happy
>To Western ears, the date of September 1 sounds benign. In Japan, however, it carries a mournful burden. It’s the date that many of Japan’s schools reopen after summer vacation. It’s also the day that Japanese children are most likely to kill themselves.
Japan has one of the highest kid suicide count, "'The nail that sticks out shall be hammered down." You actually get some sympathy for being bullied in the west but if you get bullied there is an underlying thought that you are doing something wrong and deserve it.
It's true. Please never come here
>get changed into gundam suit
I'm not sure why but I watched this movie in high school once. It wasn't even for a film class or anything. I wish I could remember what class it was, but we likely had a substitute teacher I would assume.
Great movie. Very comfy.
Isn't it rated R?
Even in high school the teachers never played R rated movies.
Why would they show a movie that makes detention look fun?
I don't understand hall monitors - aren't they missing out on their own schooling?
I could easily google it by I can't imagine why it would be rated R. They didn't swear that much from what I remember
I doubt anybody thinks detention is like that. The one time I got detention I was thrown into a windowless room in the basement, forced to sit on a tiny desk with dividers blocking the sides and back, having my electronics confiscated, and get yelled at while doing "work" sheets for 3 hours. Scared me straight
Sounds like you just got unlucky. I lost my virginity during detention.
FREEDOM!
They're learning how to boss other students around so it's a valuable experience.
Hall Monitors are purely a form hollywood story telling. They have never given a dipshit an orange vest and told him to police his fellow students. At most it's the campus security guard who's patrolling the hallway looking for the weekly school shooter
I got sent to a saturday detention once for skipping because I didn't want to give a speech.
It's a soft R. In any case, there are edited versions of movies for television you know.
wtf i love sabans power rangers (2017) now
Was your school a CIA black site or some shit?
You're right, cucked Americans should let their children fuck off and do whatever they want. Discipline is for fags.
The whole concept of having to ask teachers to go to the bathroom in the first place is pretty absurd.
My school had a rule where if you were late 3 times in a month you got a day suspension. They quickly dropped the policy after students who were about to get their 3rd strike spent 1st period at mcdonalds.
>when you forget to tip the corridor soldier and have to repeat all twelve grades
baka
>no niggers
>no sexual minorities
>nu-male nerd gets properly cucked
They don't make em like that no more
>Mrs Smith, can I use the bathroom?
>Yeah.
>whatta country!
It wasn't that bad. It was like this picture except 360 degree coverage. You were forced to do all your homework in that time too, and if you got done with that you had to write the national athem or pledge of allegiance a billion times until your detention ended.
It's just being polite. Some kid walking out of class in the middle of a lesson can be distracting for other kids. It's not like they're going to say no. Are all foreigners autistic?
when I was in highschool we didnt really have to ask to go to the bathroom. Most teachers just told us to go when we wanted because they didnt want the interruptions.
Holy shit, you are right. I never thought about this glaring plot hole in American education
My school used teachers who weren't teaching a class that period. If you didn't have a pass and got caught, you had to report directly to the penis inspector.
This is similar to the hall pass I, and my class mates, had to use in 12th grade.
>grade 12 and 17 years old
>can legally own a car and drive
>a few months until you will be considered a legal adult and can live on your own
>can make a decision where you will spend thousands of dollars (most likely a loan too) on further education
>have to ask to go to the washroom
>Mrs Smith, can I use the bathroom?
>No
>piss pants
>everyone laughs
>i'll s-show them!
>bring uzi next day
>whatta country!
My teacher would go
>I don't know, can you?
and then wait until you instead asked
>may I use the restroom?
and she'd still say no
>standing in the hall waiting for 1st period to start
>pretzel day
>some freshman leave a mustard packet in the hall
>five minutes later one of the wheelchair retards rolls over it
>it splatters all over my pants
>get most of it off in the bathroom but still reek of mustard
>spend whole 6 hour day in one of the stalls
>come home smelling like mildew and mustard
>forget to ask mom to sign an excuse card
>end up in detention for skipping a day
whhat are you just supposed to get up in the middle of class and walk out?
>Some kid walking out of class in the middle of a lesson can be distracting for other kids.
How is that any more distracting than having to raise your arm and ask the teacher if it is ok for you to go take a dump and THEN walk out in the middle of a lesson??
It's just polite user. Do they not have manners in your country?
It was the 80s.
Kind of sounds like your fault.
There are no student hall monitors, theyre just teachers and staff that ask questions sometimes when youre walking around int he hallway.
Didn't that happen in Doug too?
In higher education, it's considered rude to interrupt a lecture to ask for permission to leave.
Nobody's throwing blame around
it has nothing to do with being polite, its probably just a way to keep track of kids
can you imagine if someone asked to go to the bathroom in college?
>in french class
>have to ask in french
Well then those kids can go enroll in college and have that luxury. In school, YOU are the guest, the lesson plan is the party, and for you to interrupt that you have to demonstrate how disruptive you are.
We're talking about children here. Are you ok?
>it's a Sup Forums argues about nothing episode
>excusemoi mademoselle, je suis poopipoop tres bienne
wow that was hard
