When I became a manager and quickly realized I had favorites I used Robert's Californias quote about winners and losers.
It was true I was new, I didn't know everyone and yet I was immediately impressed by some and not others. I didn't say winners and losers but I did use the rest of that scene/quote he gave.
Worked out in the end gave some of the people I wasn't impressed with turn things around.
