GRRM has dementia and has forgotten what he was going to write.

When he inevitably prematurely dies, who will continue the series?

Reminder: Only Chris Tolkien & Guy Kay have ever continued a series of a dead author and maintained the quality level.

He's showing up late to the party because he knows that makes him cooler.

Christopher was mostly just assembling his father's notes into a coherent structure. GRRM doesn't even use notes. He just asks the westeros.org admins whenever he forgets the smaller details.

>implying anyone will give a shit about the series once the show ends

Face it, the show ending is gonna be the canon ending.

>prematurely dies
Can you really call it "premature" once someone is over 60? It's probably safer to assume every day is his final

It's definitely premature to die at 60 in western countries. Average age of death is 77 for men.

youtube.com/watch?v=QpNFqg99dwo

I can't fucking wait until this fat hack dies, enough time passes and his work is finally outed for the drivel it is. Normies are even worse to deal with when it comes to literature, they gobble up shit like there's no tomorrow and will vehemently defend it from any legitimate criticism. Please die or retire so the outing clock can finally start ticking.

He said he wasn't going to let anyone finish it if he croaked.

Also the series was written for his pleasure and he provided constant feedback during its development.

>GRRM doesn't even use notes. He just asks the westeros.org admins whenever he forgets the smaller details
Oh, so a Team Jordan redux then

>He just asks the westeros.org admins whenever he forgets the smaller details.

Please be real

Brandon Sanderson
The same guy they hired to finish the Wheel of Time.

Same thing Rigney said before he got diagnosed with amyloidosis.

You're forgetting that 99% of the people who enjoy his work aren't nearly as obsessed about this shit as you are. So what you hope is going to happen, that millions of normies will go "oh wow, user was right, this stuff IS shit!" will never happen. They'll finish the show, maybe read the next book, then just stop caring. You will never get the validation you seek.

>Normies are even worse to deal with when it comes to literature, they gobble up shit like there's no tomorrow and will vehemently defend it from any legitimate criticism.
My friend doesn't want to watch the show until he finishes the book series.

FUCKING NORMIESSSSSSSSSSS

sub-Jody Lynn Nye/Brian Herbert/John Betancourt tier series-finisher.

He should stick with underwear and the gathering, as far as magic goes

Average doesn't mean what you think it means. I know how you're going to respond and I don't care. If you made it to over 60 nothing about dying would be premature. ESPECIALLY if you're morbidly obese guy. Don't respond to me I know what you want to say. You want to get into the semantics but just don't. I'm honestly leaving the thread. Just don't do it user.

Reminder that A Dream of Spring is never coming out because fatass is going to die soon.

The books are pretty good though. The two last ones did lose some focus though mostly because he's getting slow and old and can't up with his attention without starting to fantasize about food or 14 year olds. You're forgetting that these books didn't become popular over night. It was word of mouth that took a decade to spread before it hit mainstream.

of course it is. anyone that honestly believes george is going to live to finish this series is deluding themselves at this point.

even if he does keep it at 7 books (which is not a certainty at all since he's changed his mind before) it's taking him longer and longer in between each book.

he claimed last time that the book took so long because of the dreaded "mereenese knot" but now he's taking even fucking longer without any excuses besides laziness and that he'd rather be getting his dick sucked on talk shows and at conventions than sitting at home writing.

honestly i can't blame him for that, he's only human and now he's a huge deal in the twilight of his life but obviously things are not going to end well.

You're wrong

The normie thing is not being able to read the superior version of the story because you're that big of a retard. Or wait, you're not even a normie. You're just a sub-IQ retard who thinks "reading books is autistic".

Actually no. I find the idea of reading GoT books when this writer is too lazy to finish it is autistic and you should just watch the show and be done with it

I feel like spoiling the show when I see my friend next since how much he makes me angry. Yes he is a bookfag but taking your time with GoT is just pathetic when it's shit tier fantasy at this point

He was always a money grubber, he became a writer because it's easier than having a real job. (I'm serious, the guy is 70 years old and has only worked a proper job for maybe 5 years of his life)

He doesn't give a shit about his legacy or finishing his work, just travelling and eating and watching football and getting his ego stroked at conventions

It's shit tier fantasy to any showfag. It doesn't surprise me you hate it. HBO has reduced the series to standard fantasy story with some feminist elements forced into it. You're watching a poor fanfic version of the geniune version. You really are in no position to start criticizing the books or the people reading the books when you are consuming the lowliest of the low entertainment.

>It doesn't surprise me you hate it. HBO has reduced the series to standard fantasy story with some feminist elements forced into it.
I told my friend it has become a feminist show and since he is a bookfag who doesn't watch the show he's like "WHAT? NO WAY".

Yeah I agree the books are probably a lot better but I don't have the time to read them.

they're not worth reading in their current state, if he actually finishes the series, then read them

It felt to me that he wanted to extend the story and introduce more and more characters instead of wrapping it up. I don't even mind the slow pacing of ADWD but I do mind unnecessary PoVs that will probably go nowhere.

GRRM was a feminist before he was even a television writer.

>tfw 2011 was 48 years ago

Reminder that GURM never wanted to be a fantasy writer and GoTs success is a huge burden to him and he sees it as nothing more than a curse.

He'll never finish the books as a final fuck you to the fans he so deeply hates.

Preston

It's okay, D&D will finish them for him.

>He doesn't give a shit about his legacy or finishing his work, just travelling and eating and watching football and getting his ego stroked at conventions

This. As bad as it is, I can't really blame him since most people would do the same in his position - I mean he's what, one night of bad sleep apnea away from death anyway

agreed 100%.

i'm not saying all books have to have the relentless pace and action of a storm of swords but with AFFC and ADWD he just added too many new characters when there were already a million of them. i didn't start reading the books until after the show started but it's crazy to me to think that the bookfags had to wait 11 years to get another jon snow, dany, or tyrion chapter after a storm of swords is crazy.

way too many new characters in dorne and the iron islands. when you add these new characters after we've spent hundreds of pages with other ones they just don't seem as important to the story and it takes a long time to build up interest in them. that's not to say some of his main characters arcs weren't boring as hell too. i know i groaned every time i turned the page and saw daenerys at the start of the next chapter.

he never had a clue to begin with

It's not in his hands, in 2017 someone will just write a fan fiction ending and it will go viral and that WILL be the official ending for a lot of readers

Meandering plot lines aren't even the problem. Tyron story, for example, gets a lot of shit, but if it was the only wandering plot I think it would be enjoyed more.

The issue is almost every single character has one, opposed to the first three where there was a mix of fast paced and slow paced stories. Everyone is just wandering around, Jamie, Brienne, Ayra, Jon. If your lucky the stories ended in a cliff hanger, most just sorta stopped. The only story that had a reasonably satisfying arch was Cersei.

Imagine waiting five years for AFFC and the only satisfying chapter is when Blackfish scolds Jaime. Imagine waiting five years and amidst a 1000 pages of filler, only one chapter was actually fulfilling?

just think about the loyal readers who brought the attention for that fat fuck to just come close to the TV-deal for GoT, and now he's shitting all over them with pleasure and satisfaction, pandering to the OMG LE GOT IS AWSUM SUCH A NERD LOL crowd.

big cucks or biggest cucks?

blame GRRM who for some retarded reason thought it better to split the books up based on geography rather than the plot or narrative

the last brienne one was pretty good too

This was really sad.

This guy was a hardcore leftist before he started writing this series. I'm not sure why "fans" don't understand this.

It was hilariously cringe worthy hearing him describe that dinner.

Almost 7 in a like 3 months

preston is truly just too good for this world

sauce? what dinner?

>Open up a fuckton of plots
>Don't close any of them
>Complicate them
>Open up more plots even in the 5th out of 7 (yeah right) books
>Massive ones like Aegon at that
>Can't finish it
>Probably keeps rewriting it over and over again because it's impossible to properly conclude all of this shit

Lmao, each Witcher book was written in 1 year. And they're also a much better take on "realistic fantasy".

I was referring to tv-fags getting an ending before bookfags, who might not even get one at all.

Jesus Fucking Christ.

Its on his youtube channel I'm sure. Preston gets to have eat a brief dinner course with Martin with some other people. Part of the allure is being able to ask Martin about the series. Everyone else just directly asks him about the story, but Preston over thinks it and asks him about a bunch of stories that GRRM wrote like thirty years ago hoping to glean some hidden insights, but its clear from GRRM's reaction haven't thought about them in forever. He keeps going on an its painfully obvious everyone is complete confused why he's wasting his time on something no one has bothers thinking about, author included, for years.

back to Sup Forumseddit, vermin

>Implying Witcher movie isn't going to be kino

The fuck you talkin' 'bout, cuckboi?

>Playing: Wiedzmin.The.Witcher.S01E01.PL-EN.Subs-Fantasy.avi

Well I'd be pretty flattered if someone showed interest in my lesser known stories, but GRRM is too senile at this point to remember anything

>Witcher
Holy shit literally kill yourself Pole.

>Lmao, each Witcher book was written in 1 year. And they're also a much better take on "realistic fantasy".

No, it won't. How many times do we need to go through this with Sup Forumsermin such as you? Manchild shit doesn't translate well to adult art such as literature and film.

Do we need more garbage CGI flicks and weeb shit for you to finally learn?

Show on the doll where Witcher hurt you, user

Is that your ass you're pointing at?

It's a garbage series that requires a mandatory sub 70 IQ to enjoy (which is why only Poles bother with it). I don't know who you're trying to convince here. Witcher is shit. The writer is a hack. Kill yourself.

saying that in a asoiaf-thread is rather bold.

>it's a passage where he describes in pornographic detail what characters are eating

It's ok to feel that way, user. I respect your opinion :)

>y-you too

>For every complaint I get I add another month!

Go back to Sup Forums with your trash Pole literature intended for retards, Polack. And take your gay ass Gary Sue MC with you.

All this supposes that you need to have an IQ of above 70 to enjoy GoT.

GoT is retarded as far as fantastic narratives go, and the hardest part about it is remembering all the names that don't really matter in the first place.

I mean, come on.

>A Witcherfag calling anything retarded
Oh my I have seen everything now.

What if he's rewriting the entire book so the show doesn't spoil it?

Whoa....... how come his mom lets him have TWO wieners?

Witcher is literally geared towards the same demographic as ASoFaI, the swords and tits audience.

Neither are deep narratives, and that's FINE.

They're just fun, stupid garbage

ASOIAF has actual characters though and not just cheesy fantasy stereotypes cranked up to 11. Witcher is so fucking dumb. It's the lowliest of the low in the genre. Only reason to bother with it would be if you're a Pole nationalist which I assume you are.

yeah, gurm does have SOME boring generic fantasy characters but a lot of the others are actually pretty interesting/well-written compared to most other fantasy series

i blame the editor more for that one. he wanted it to be one book and they balked. who gives a shit if it's too many pages for one book just put out part 1 and part 2 god knows all the movie studios are doing that these days to make even more money. once they forced him to split it into two books he had to add new POVs and characters to make it so it wasn't just a book and a half and it suffered really badly because of it. he also did forget the concept of tension and release as well and just kept building tension (slowly) with no release foreseeable.

NOOOOOOOOooo
Preston will make it more of an anit-war, feminist, liberal, sci-fi-in-disguise, prophecy is false, nonsense

GURM has stated that magic is real, yet this autist continues to deny it

>sweetrobun has telepathic powers
>quentin is alive
>etc...

do you remember shit you wrote about in school 15 years ago? i sure as fuck don't.

authors like GRRM have probably written hundreds of short stories. it's not surprising he wouldn't remember them all.

what other stuff does he have on his mind that he can't possible remember his own drivel?
the menu of the chinese takout-restaurant down the street?

if i was a working author who had written hundreds of short stories, i probably wouldn't have given much thought to them after i finished writing them let alone 30+ years later. if you've been around people that are 60+ you must know that they start to forget shit.

I bet you anything he takes so long because anytime he starts writing something sexual he masturbates and then doesn't feel like writing the rest of the day. This causes him to get stuck on a chapter for months.

I seen some documentary of him on youtube and he actually does have two people he asks if something happened because he forgets. Think it's somewhere in this youtube.com/watch?v=hIva5LzhPFE

But he doesn't let that leak into his books. Which is really surprising of a feminist.

What? Yes he does, all the time. Have you read any of his non-GoT works?

joe abercrombie, at least he would get the storylines moving and release on schedule

>his non-GoT works

Well I meant ASoIaF. I don't really care that he writes anything else.

I'm on my re-read of ASOS and one comment Little Finger makes about a Kraken appearing at the fingers has me interested, I never caught that before but do you think this is a hint of Euron or there is an actual kraken which will come into play later?

yeah i actually dont really see much of a liberal agenda in the series anywhere
he even portrays arranged marriage pretty positively overall

Most likely Euron.
Yeah and even though he spouts nonsense on his stupid blog I have to respect him for not being a faggot and pushing his agenda in a series kind of based on the medieval ages with fantasy thrown into it.

>gotkeks believe this

lmao

And what do you make of the passage where Olena mentions how Highgarden's flowers have too many spiders in them, a hint she's in league with Varys?

>a hint she's in league with Varys?

Didn't they pretty much shout that out at the top of their lungs, metaphorically speaking, in the show anyways? They're for sure working together.

From what I know it isn't really as obvious in the TV show since I stopped watching after S2 but from what I remember in the books it is still left a mystery who murdered Joffrey.

Oh well I don't want to spoil it for you I guess. But yeah what I said is pretty spot on, especially with how season 6 ended. They're literally on a boat with each other if I remember correctly.

The Witcher books weren't that good for the most part
they also took a nose dive in quality around the end

Books rused you a bit about who killed him but its apparent now who did

Jordan Peterson

But will the readers appreciate ASOIAF going more grimdark?

Littlefinger confessed to Salsa about conspiring with Granny Tyrell in the same book, IIRC.

'The dreaded Meerenese knot'

Honestly, is there nothing more self-important than making your bad writing seem like some advanced impressive puzzle, just because you wasted an entire book re-doing another 'Dany seiges and occupies an eastern city' plotline with no plan for its impact or relevance to the story. And he comes along and talks about how puzzling the knot he put there is, as if it has a design or a plan, when he's openly admitting he doesn't have one.

>tfw to smart to write urself out of ur corners

thats why its called a Dream user
