She takes him for a romantic boat ride on their first date. They down several bottles of wine together. As they get naked, she tells him she is into bondage and starts tying nautical rope around our sailor boy. She starts to straddle him then suddenly she heaves his pathetic and weak body over the side. Struggling against bonds and water our hero fights for air. The last thing he ever hears is the splash of the hundred pound anchor tethered to the other end of his rope.

I really like this idea. I was simply thinking about her already liking him but also liking to kill because of a past trauma. Perhaps maybe someone tried to get in the way of them before and she killed them. Thats when she realized she liked to kill people. him making the deal was just an excuse to date him because she was always shy to actually approach him.

Women only go crazy for guys who are extremely attractive (not necessarily looks, but status, competence, etc). The protagonist is obviously not attractive since no other woman is even interested in him. This premise is absurd.
Also the fact she doesn't kill him right away too.
Here's a reasonably more plausible version.

The series doesn't even have to go on forever either. They could both just die in the last edition. Maybe even have a kid before they die, and the kid grows up with his grandparents always feeling fucked up in the head, but never really knowing why...
