Good composer or just eyecandy?
Hans Zimmer
nice guy
He's the Subway of composing.
Overrated.
BvS Soundtrack was excellent
Inception was decent
Pirates was good
the rest might as well have been composed by anyone else
he lost it post-inception i think. Either that, or Nolad always pushes his ass to make "bland" songs
his best work still is pirates of the caribbean and modern warfare 2
also crysis 2, but I think he had little contribution on that
>music
>eyecandy
what about interstellar
an ill fitting suit, so to speak
I can remember like 2/3 songs (no time for caution, coward and mountains) from the whole soundtrack because all sound the fucking same at times
Go Bama! Roll tide!

He's not even composing. It's his apprentices that do. Lorne Balfe for example.
MW2 was Lorne.
Crysis 2 was also Lorne Balfe.
Well, it's certainly more enjoyable than my average day... reading philosophy, avoiding gang rape in the washrooms... though, it's less of a problem these days. Maybe I'm losing my sex appeal.
Well, the actual phrase used was "dick brain".
>kung fu panda
Literally the reddit of composers
>who is John Williams
Criminally underrated score.

Hans' absolute magnum opus. It's so amazing
Philip Glass ersatz
>being a manchild
I wish Lorne was doing Justice League with Junkie :(
To throw out the obvious, he didn't compose anything on his own for a very long time, he considers himself a "music director" who gives guidelines to other people who make stuff for him. Now he's more of a brand than a musician.
But to get to this point he must be pretty good, right?
He's good but not as GOAT as everyone makes it seem. He's nowhere near the level of Morricone or Williams and nit even on the level of Giacchino
Even the late james horner was more varried and slightly complex than zimmer
