Will I get shit on if I say Narcisse?

Also did anybody else not see the final twist coming at all?

I had completely forgotten about JD

Season 2
Jimmy Darmondy
uhhhhhh..... nookie?

I just wish they kept Jimmy alive a little bit longer, I know he had to die but it wasn't worth killing him just to bring in Gyp Rosetti who died in the same season

>it wasn't worth killing him just to bring in Gyp Rosetti who died in the same season

Jimmy was killed off because the actor was a pain in the ass to work with.

I believe it, it's just a damn shame because he had potential to be the enemy for at least another season. The whole Gyp Rosetti thing went nowhere and it felt like they just put him in as filler between Jimmy and Narcisse/Maranzano

I can tell you my least favorite death was Richard Harrow, man I loved that guy

he really was the best thing in the entire show. i'd watch a show entirely based around his character.

this character should have stayed around longer

Richard Harrow is the meme character, the pleb's choice for a favourite character

Chalky White was objectively the best character.

I can see how you would think that,

But I really liked how he was a cold-blooded killer on one side, but on the other he had a big heart and protected those he cared deeply for.

I wonder what he would have thought if he was alive to see what happened to Nucky and who did it

i didn't care for chalky after season 3. all that crap with the singer and narcisse got annoying after a while.

i'd pick van alden as #2 best character.

Narcisse was an awful antagonist generally.

>HE'S JUST A NIGGA WITH A DICTIONARY
Michael K Williams is the man. i recommend "Hap and Leonard", his new show, to everyone.
it's a lot like justified only from the perspective of two crooks, played by Omar and Mark Anthony

youtube.com/watch?v=vm8fa587fQ0

Great ending, don't really know why anybody would need an explanation of it.

Also the actor they got to portray young adult Nucky did a great job, I just wish they gave him blue contacts because his brown eyes really took me out of it

Harrows was very well done, Van Alden's came out of nowhere.

season 5's flashbacks were fantastic and every casting decision was spot on. it's a shame they messed up the present storyline though and missed out on so much shit.

Yes

No.

i think i jerked it to that scene a few times and i don't even have that fetish. so yes

Yes.

He was a dead man walking either way. Van Alden, that is.

Mickey Doyle's death caught me off guard though

So satisfying though.

Really? I kinda liked him, he was a good character

Did Nucky deserve it?

For being the most bland main character in the history of television?

Yes.

i dont know why they thought buscemi was a good choice to play the main character. he's not a lead guy, he's a great supporting actor, but he just can't hold up anything by himself. everyone surrounding nucky was a more interesting character than he was. by the end of the show i still didn't feel like i knew what made nucky tick, other than money....

they should have gone with gandolfini
that would have been a great post-sopranos vehicle for him.
nucky is quite a different character than tony soprano...

Yeah they should have gone with Gandolfini to play an Irish-American

The only episodes I liked were the ones about Ireland, it showed paddys for what they truly are; vindictive, backstabbing parasites on the back of anglo america.

Nuckys death had more significance on the plot than when his character was alive.

>weeell... i aint buildin no bookcase

unironically reddit

>I wonder what he would have thought if he was alive to see what happened to Nucky and who did it
If he was alive he would be taking care of Jimmy's son and would probably lead the kid away from seeking vengeance.

It's extremely rushed, missing a shitload of plotlines, but it does have a satisfying conclusion to Nucky's arc.

Harrow It's the only time I was ever in denial about a character's death. "w-well, they didn't bury him or anything so maybe he's just wounded!"

I think season 5 is one of the best. Yes it's rushed in that there's a long timegap and it skips over Rothstein's death but season 5 was about what the show was always building up to, that is the rise of Luciano's Commission and the fall of the old style gangsters like Nucky and Capone. It could have been fleshed out a lot more with another couple of seasons but I think they did an excellent job with the 8 episodes they were given.

Jimmy's

tons of threads on Sup Forums pointed out he was probably tommy
I didnt think theyd go for the cliche "you killed my father" gangster ending but the final season was rushed anyway

Probably 1 or 2

Jimmy was bar none the most dynamic character, it stung when they killed him

The best death was Gyp Rosetti on the beach

>Tfw Barney GooGoo with the goo goo googly eyes

>but the final season was rushed anyway

they fucked it up so bad. they shoved at least 2 or 3 seasons of content in the final season.

anyone else pissed we never got to see jimmy in a mob war? He was proven to be a great soldier and I was hoping to see him in some of the true balls to the walls mob wars they had back in the 20s

I know the story of his actor being a PIA to work with so they off'd him, but still a missed opportunity. Harrow to for that matter, but at least we got to see one final assault with him

harrow wasn't a missed opportunity. he took down like 20 mobsters in the season 3 shootout. if he never picked up a gun again after that scene i would have been completely fine with it.

his death was a little lame, but the death flashes of him meeting everyone he cared about more than made up for it

i was deeply affected by the death of pearl

He had his moments.

i stopped watching after jimmy fucked his mom

>i'll never forgive Terence Winter for abandoning Boardwalk Empire in favour of the hot turd that was "Vinyl"

It wasn't entirely Terry's fault, it was a confluence of factors that led to the end of the show

>Show had become repetitive with Seasons 3 and 4 following similar beats
>Ratings weren't really high enough to support the massive budget and had been consistently declining while GOT went up every season and became a massive hit
>Boardwalk set got sold off and turned into condos after Season 3
>Winter had just had Wolf of Wall Street come out as well as Vinyl in development and wanted to move on

It was the right time to end the show, admittedly it was fucking stingy that they only got 8 episodes though

2, Jimmy, Jimmy (though I didn't like that it happened, Jimmy really had his moment)

Maybe the Commodore just because of the circumstances and build up, as well. Maybe Sheridan because that was the first real hardcore Jimmy moment and super intense episode for gangster dealings in that way.

Only flaws of boardwalk empire

>Margeret
>Chalky

Margeret = Period, old vagina, periodblood

Chalky = Ooga booga revenge fantasy killing KKK, having magical negro power & being feared and jiggaboo talk

Basicly, cut out the nigger parts & the old vagina feminist issues and its golden

what the fuck are you talking about

Remove all segments of Nuckys wife, Margeret, the part where she works at hospital, take care of old women, fighting against evil white patriarchial doctors, and get contraception for nasty old women, and Boardwalk empire would have been a better show.

Remove all parts with Chalky, the negro, remove the LARPing of black people killing KKK members, being powerful and feared.

Remove the gay romance & drama between Chalky, Narcisse and that gay singer that took up a whole season, and boardwalk empire would be better, whats so hard to understand?

Remove Nigger arc & womyn arc and the show becomes infinitly better. I always skip these parts now.

I know I'm in the minority but 3>5>4>2>1

I didn't care for the show in the first two seasons and didn't like Jimmy's arc. Generally I think Winter is a great comedy and pulp writer, but very mediocre when it comes to psychological depth and character arcs. He's way too derivative, has too big a hard-on for gangster films. The Gyp season is when he realized his own limits and just embraced BE as a silly show with stylized set pieces and colorful characters and dialogues (like he did in Wolf of WS).

I find it interesting how the two shows that followed The Sopranos both only had half the DNA that made it great (Winter the silly violence and comedy, Weiner the character study and depth on Mad Men), without Chase involved. BE was really carried by its stellar cast and superb direction.

Not one that good

I only watched 1-3 and felt 3 had lost the charm that 1-2 had and 2's finale was already a very good way to end the series as a whole and it didn't really need to continue from there.
