Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local McDonald's restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in McChicken sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

I live in Denver and a Taco Bell went out of business. A fuckingTaco Bell. Minimum wage out here is $10 for a reason. No one can afford to live here otherwise. Even when people working at fast-food places have multiple jobs they can't afford to live here.

most people are not very intelligent. only like 25% of people are truly intelligent and not all of them have class or are careful with money. my two closest adult male friends both make a lot of money. one has two trucks, multiple dirt bikes, always gets massive televisions, an extra used car, etc. he might not eat fast food much but i'm sure the cost of lunch is no issue, even it went from 6 bucks to 12. the other makes near 100k i'm sure and also wastes money on giant televisions, always has the newest consoles--he'll get the PS5 and next xbox immediately, i'm sure--and has lots of expensive drones.

one time, i visited the latter with the former and that day they offered to buy me lunch and/or dinner. i didn't want anything. i spent one dollar that day on a bottle of water. they, on the other hand, spent a combined $80 on lunch at burger king and then fish dinner at a restaurant. sure, it was sort of a special occasion but that's just how much money means to them.

when i get my CS degree in may, i'll be able to search for an easy 75k to start and look for something better, but even with 75k, i will still aim for my daily food bill to be about $10 at the most including all snacks, main meal, rum and diet cola.

i know the value of a dollar. i've always been pretty poor and by 42, i live as tight as possible. i wouldn't waste my money. if you give all of the US $15/hour they'll totally waste it on things like the same shitty fast food that might need to raise prices. since their business will increase due to idiots suddenly being able to buy that crap, their prices will be ok.

the real threat of $15/hr is that naturally dumb and irresponsible people will get fat/health problems due to living to excess.

i mainly studied macroeconomics, so the situation i proposed was a national raising of minimum wage. if just one employer payed 15$ an hour to flip patties and bag food, everyone would apply there, which was raise the standards of hiring and therefore providing a better business. the threat of a rising minimum is that the bar has to be higher. the people that the jobs are designed for won’t be able to get them, and there will be whole generations of people who have never experienced the hell of working fast food. i worked fast food in high school and college. i know how hard it can be. while i was in the job i figured i should be paid more, but in retrospect, what i earned was fair. i didn’t work full time, it was a part time gig i did when i wasn’t studying

That's a problem and everyone knows you can't survive on that. Yes, people generally make more as they get older and advance in life. I'm not claiming everyone should start at $40,000 a year for doing shit work. I'm just saying people are worth more an hour than $7, hardly enough for a McDonald's "meal".
