Because the two incidents have almost nothing in common beyond being impeachment hearings.
Basically Democrats had the numbers to block impeachment and didn't really care about the lie very much, neither did the public so even moderate Republicans and many Republican votyers weren't that fussed about it since lying about your private life was seen as "understandable" and forgivable.
The question is whether the public will see Trump's call as extorting a foreign country into attacking your rival for you and whether the public will understand and forgive that, and whether republicans in house/senate will follow the public's opinion as polled, or take the electoral hit and support a republican president no matter what.
There's probably a bunch of republicans asking themselves whether Pence would be a better behaved establishment Republican president and separately, whether he has the stature to defeat Sanders or latina chick next time.

Funnily enough, if there was a legitimate reason to have Biden looked into, there were many different official channels that Trump could have gone too and had them look into things. Sure the optics are bad, but if someone did a little digging and found that Biden was running some drug ring or something explicit illegal, Trump would have came out as a hero even if he did step on that line of abuse of power himself.
Instead...he ran a shadow team through his personal lawyer (talk to rudy) that operated outside of the normal channels to strong-arm Zelensky through extortion of the aid (that Trump had no right to withhold in the first place) to just...force him to announce an investigation into Biden for the sake of publicly smearing him and raising questions. All because he couldn't get the same effect of launching an investigation state-side since they would have found nothing. Hell, Trump could have solely focused on the whole "Biden extorted Ukraine to save his son" conspiracy and it would have been at least half as effective without even involving Ukraine in anything.
