Other people do have it worse than you or I. Sorry to hear about your situation. All I have is my cat, but I'm homeless. I work hard, and am on the verge of getting back on my feet. I think it's great you are there for your boy. It's not the same, but my cat is my baby. Keep working hard, even when your hole gets deeper, you eventually find a foothold. I live in NZ. They like courtroom time to be short, so litigation goes ahead of hearing. Affidavit, counter affidavit, counter-counter affidavit, you get the idea. It's a bit backwards to other countries I belive. She had Legal Support (NZ pays) while I had none due to income (user pays) After burning every bridge while she was on it, she signed off on what I wanted, with 1 week each holiday he can spend with her.
What country are you in? You're going to have some sleepless nights mate, but if you already have temp custody, likely 75% of way to full. Make sure they stay happy. Not sure what age, but legals know they're going to be asking for whatever they don't have right now and they just want you to live together and be a family. Don't get angry, just work through the process.

OP Also, as part of day to day stuff I'm often dealing with legal (business) stuff, out of court, but often in boardrooms. Zero intimidation for me on that front, so my approach was Bring It, I'm Gonna Win and We Both Know It.
Also, they'll look at history, and NZ also appoints Lawyer For Child. What do you like to do with mum user Jr? Watch movies n stuff. What do you like to do with dad user Jr? Ride bikes, go fishing, go kayaking, go on boats, walk, read books, visit dad's friends and kids... I'm not trying to be a winner here, but that's "Do Fucking Nothing" vs. "Include Your Kids In Your Life."

I am in the US. To clarify our temporary custody order states that I have full physical custody mother gets visitation every other weekend, 50/50 joint legal custody. It has definitely been tough to deal with the uncertainty.

Our kids are young 2 and 9 month. Opinion from them nonexistent. Lawyer has been appointed for them he’s been able to visit our home initially and recently over complaints my ex raised but he seem to realize the complaints were BS. Nothing out of place. ex ran off to different state with new bf the lawyer will not make that trip to visit their home. I made jurisdiction stay in mine and the kids birth state. When you say take pics what kind of pics are you referring to?
