Yeah, snow is the worst. Luckily, it doesn't exactly snow often where I am.
I'm doing okay, nearing the end of my pokemon playthrough. My gimmick team isn't working out because a lot of stuff is just immune to toxic spikes now.

I can, but toxic spikes sets up a gimmick with Rosarade and Frostlass, Venoshock's damage is doubles against poisoned targets and Hex's is doubled against any status effect.
I am going to stealth rock the champion and ruin his pried Charizard though.

It's not very effective, Steel and poison types can't be poisoned, and flying types are immune to spikes, but you can layer entry hazards with each other. Tyranitar as my stealth rocker isn't the worst thing to have. And I can always bet on the 'fett.

oh, i see. sorta. sounds more interesting than going about it normally i guess, where you just pick the pokemon you have thats strong against whatever gym and wipe it
sorta. i was super into it as a kid, i know all the pokemon from the first 3 gens, but i never got a ds so i didnt play gen 4 or 5, finally picked it back up with x & y once i got a 3ds, and i played moon, and sun, and ultra moon. and now im behind again because i dont have a switch

Dang, that is a lot. You must live pretty far up north then; I heard there was a front up there.
My current team has pretty decent coverage, though I may switch Charizard out for a Noivern. It certainly helps that dragons can usually learn a bunch of elemental moves.
Last game I played was Black 2, I never got a 3DS, which means I also can't play Persona Q2.

That generation introduced some really cool pokemon. I'm disappointed sword and shield doesn't have Scolipede or Volcarona. I always thought they were really good bug-types.

Scolipede was a big purple centipede. It was a strong bu/poison type. Bug is pretty much the weakest type, so it's always nice to get something like him that's actually usable.

I think Golisopod looks pretty cool, but his ability does suck. The only thing I can really think of is if he has weather changing moves or something to get out then his ability could switch out to something that can use that weather, but I don't think he's fast enough for that.
I think Heracross has always been pretty good, he's not in Gen 7 though. Any pokemon that got a mega-evolution is a powerhouse in some way.

A lot of pokemon have "Signature abilities" that are only really for flavor. Like Slaking doesn't do anything every other turn. Golisopod's isn't the worst ability though, I'm sure you can come up with gimmicks using it. It also gets the move "First Impression" which can only be used the first turn it's out and has high priority.
