The Witch

None really. I would maybe make a case for the babadook but other than that none else come cloae

Get Out

Well that was easy.

my last 10 years have been a worse horror movie

The Purge franchise is seriously underrated. I think it's improved with each sequel.

is it true that the last hour is just torture porn?

Not really. At least not in the way Hostel or Martyrs go about it. But it is an uncomfortable watch near the end, without relying on excessive blood and gore.

Decent post, but not exactly horror.

>> The Conjuring 2
How fucking shit is your taste in film? Seriously? That's gotta be the worst horror movie ever made.

And fyi, it's not a "true story".

I can even give you one that was released in the last 10 months.

The Witch is the only one approaching decency in that list.

How is it "not exactly" horror? It IS horror.

The Borderlands

Why does this movie get shilled so hard here? Its shit. The premise is good, but its ruined because the kids suck at acting.

Don't Breathe?

Unfriended

Goodnight Mommy
The Witch

Haven't seen some of these but
>The Purge
>Conjuring 2
please tell me this is bait...

This movie wasn't scary. Kind of had the feeling of a cult movie for this generation of teen but that's it.

Because it is actually a beautifully shot horror movie.

I didn't find the acting bad, I was absorbed and was only aware I was watching a movie when I contemplated the deliberate anachronisms.

Before anyone asks:

>College students who play the card game Old Maid (also the college seems more like high school?)

>Retro-looking movie theatre with piano intermission instead of adverts

>Characters dress for winter in one scene, put on swimsuits in a scene set a few days later

>70s decor and furnishings

>Black and white movies on retro-TV

>No mention of internet, even when they were researching the guy who infected the protagonist

>Despite all the above the slatternly girl has an odd e-reader in clamshell case

>No mobile phones except in the prologue - which implies to me it could take place decades after the main plot.

It's not scary. it was more a thriller. The ending was a bit /x/ but it wasn't exactly horror was it?

Did you think it was horror? What parts were scary?

I forgot to mention all the cars are retro too.

The WWitch.

Let the right one in

>I forgot to mention all the cars are retro too.

Except the ones in the prologue.

I remember reading somewhere that the timeframe is kept ambiguous so that it resembles a dream, a recurring nightmare the director used to have, where he would be stalked by a predator that continually walked slowly towards him. So it's a mess between the 80's and 00's themes.

Jack & Jill

...

Shit and boring

Yup. These days I get my horror fix through horror fiction podcasts. Horror and film are worst enemies.

>Objectively wrong posts:the experience

>Luuuuu-caaaas

Just because you didn't find it scary doesn't mean it's not horror. That's like saying Rosemary's Baby and Suspiria aren't horror because they're not scary by today's standards.

The dream sequence in the beginning alone has a better atmosphere than whatever passes for horror nowadays.

>VV
this needs to stop like now

The Boy
Dead Silence

What do I win?

The Exorcist was (first one) was the only good horror movie ive seen in my life.

>The Boy

Shit, but Bishop Brennan was in it

It's not supposed to take place in a certain timeline you nit wit

what a sad life you live

Don't worry, you're not alone. Most babbies on Sup Forums only watch what's mentioned here.

>That's gotta be the worst horror movie ever made.

Love it when people say this about above average stuff. No doubt is The Conjuring 2 worse than House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, Birdemic and all those shitty sequels to once good horror franchises like Halloween Resurrection and Hellraiser Revelations.

>These days I get my horror fix through horror fiction podcasts.
What are some good ones?

The Void

STOP SHILLING THAT SHIT REEEEEEE

...

wow he's still alive?
FECK!

Got too cutesy with the Sunn O))) references
I know they did the soundtrack but still.

The protagonist didn't even look like a person. Should've invested more money in a better looking wig.

Daughter was qt.

Kill List

WWitch

Babadock was so shit, that annoying kid was the worst

>music by Sunn O)))

Kind of want to see it now, just to know what that's like. Is it like their regular music or is it original stuff?

At least it was accurate. Kids are little annoying shits.

I'm pretty sure it's original stuff

The antagonist has a demonic voice that makes him kill people and it's Attila's voice. And the antagonist plays really loud drone music to stop the voices.

I'm pretty sure one of the bobblehead's in the guy's car is one of the guys from Sunn O)))

The protagonist wears a Sunn O))) shirt for almost the second half of the movie

Did she get gangbanged on the boat?

Mother ignores second son from start. First 5 minutes it's clear the twin is dead.

Fucking idiots.

>Under the Shadow

Iranian horror that actually scared me.

I imagine she told them to cum quickly (obviously if they took too long IT would catch up and kill her).

Yes.

I hate how many horror movies have a focus on sex.

>fuck off autist

Easy.

...

>I'll be taking all your guns
>yeah sure if you got the money i can cut you a deal
>no i am going to kill you

It plays into the fear of sex some people have. You know, the fear of actually performing it or the fear of the consequences it sometimes has.

Nice b8 m8

Wasn't nearly as bad as people pretended it was

this film was unbearably shit

terrible
awful

i think it was pretty inventive to say the least
Not perfect but a lot more interesting than overrated It Memes

Under the Shadow
A girl walks home alone at night
The eyes of my mother
Goodnight Mommy
Baskin
Dibbuk

the vvitch

fuck off with yer babadookie and herpes follows std horror film

i admit the soundtrack and concept is nice but it was done poorly

I unironically liked it.

Are those boys or girls?
m-my d-dick is so c-confused

No love for the movie featuring the killer unanimously known as Sup Forums?

>How fucking shit is your taste in film? Seriously? That's gotta be the worst horror movie ever made.

you're a genuine retard if you think like this, it wasn't amazing and not even close to James Wans best work but it was enjoyable

...

Conjuring movies are bad horror movies, reliance on jumpscares, complete lack of reticence, but I honestly really enjoy them, they're like supernatural thriller investigations and I like the couple. They're fun, not scary, but very fun. I appreciate them basing the second movie off the Enfield Poltergeist case, which the real life couple didn't investigate, but is an actual recorded event.

Plebs.
All of you.

Forgot pic.

Haven't seen those two. Link for trrent?

literally who?

...

This one's intoxicating.

Fuck, forgot pic, again

these can be hardly called horror films

>horror movie
>isn't scary
I get why people like it, it's technically well made, but if it truly wants to be considered a horror movie, it failed on the most fundamental level.

Occulus

Which game, though?

Abysmal taste

I know it's pushing it, but they're technically horror.

>if it truly wants to be considered a horror movie, it failed on the most fundamental level.
For you. Scary varies considerably from public to public. And the more someone watches the less the experience happens.
Main point is, the most important thing for a horror film isn't to be scary, but to be good or great.

It Follows is bottom of the barrel shit.

Why do so many feel the need to hate on the popular recent trinity? Such petty hate makes whatever else being said less relevant. The guy above me for example, that' s a nice list and all, but to consider It Follows "bottom of the barrel shit" is just stupid.

How do we have this many posts and none of you fucks have mentioned The Orphanage.

>it's popular so we have to like it
neck yourself

Nice reading comprehension, dipshit

It's not that good aside of the cinematography.
The whole 'final battle' was cringy as fuck, and it made the whole movie fall apart.
The Guest was a clearly superior film if we're talking about the whole 80's revivalist trend.

>ironic
