Florida Earthquake?

Did anyone else just experience this weird shit? About 15 minutes ago, I heard this strange rumbling. Not powerful enough to actually feel. I looked it up and supposedly 5 hours ago, there was a small quake off the coast. But this was much more recent, and I don't remember the one from five hours ago. Could this be leading up to something bigger? I've lived here my whole life and never experienced a quake that I remember.

I thought it was thunder at first but there was no lightning int he sky and the rumbling persisted without stopping. Reminded me more of a rocket going off, which was also a common thing in this area, just not this late at night. I also heard a "bang", it's hard to describe it. Not too unlike a sonic boom from a rocket. But there's no rocket. This must be an aftershock from that quake supposedly five hours ago. Or five hours ago was a foreshock. Or this is still a foreshock.

Man, this is weird. Gonna have a hard time falling asleep.

Rocket went off at Kennedy. Its some Space X launch

I live in east Orange county and the boom shook the apartment I'm in. Reminded me of the shuttle coming back in, you know, when we had one. Strange

>not this late at night
Dude, they shoot rockets off at all hours of the day. Midnight, 3AM, 5AM, doesn't matter the time it's about the launch window and weather.

That's it then, m8. The first thing I found was this article floridatoday.com/story/news/2016/07/17/rare-earthquake-strikes-off-daytona-beach/87219136/

My first thought upon hearing it was a rocket, but it was just strange at this time of night and it seemed like the earthquake article was easier to find. Really fucking weird because News 13 is usually all over the rocket launch. But I went to the website and it says "Bay News 9" now so they must be going through some transfer with the whole Spectrum buying Bright House thing.

nathin'

Shhhhh. It was nothing. Go back to sleep.

>HOLY SHIT TURN ON CNN TANKS IN 30
fuck off

I heard it too OP. Downtown, lake eola. Was like thunder.

When I was younger, it used to be a more prime time at night, mostly for tourism reasons I think for the Titusville area.

It's probably just a sinkhole getting ready to swallow your house into the abyss.

Are you a new floridafag?

Yes, very strong in sanford area then I checked us earthquake map, nada

it was scary

No, been here all 26 years of my life. It's just that I didn't hear about this launch at all and my usual source that constantly dick-sucks the space program whenever it can was reporting nothing.

NVM it was SpaceX

orlandosentinel.com/news/space/go-for-launch/os-spacex-launch-cargo-adapter-20160717-story.html

>Strange

Haha you guys didn't hear anything.

Nothing. No there wasn't an Akula off the coast listening into to CENTCOM having another torpedo room accident. Just some manatees collectively farting at midnight to piss of Jeb!

I heard something too, just thought it was thunder.

The SpaceX launch also did a full boost back to the landing pad at Cape Canaveral, so there would have been a second noise a few minutes later.
Though when it lands it doesn't use all of its engines so it might not be as loud as the launch. There would still be a sonic boom though.

I mean, what are the fucking chances of there actually having been an extremely rare earthquake off the coast, an actual rocket launch, and the exact website I check for rocket launches deciding to not update this time?

Also, this is the first time I've even heard a rocket launch in years. I swear I never hear the SpaceX ones, I only heard space shuttles and NASA rockets years and years ago. Unless I've usually been asleep for all of these.

This one had a major boostback burn which came back. A first stage coming back at supersonic speeds makes a nice boom going by.

That explains it then. Were the previous SpaceX launches less prone to rumbling and sonic booms than the space shuttles years ago?

I've lived here my entire life, and I've never heard a rocket launch. Everything actually shook. Its usually quiet.

I have been in the field for a long time. This is the first of a series of quakes. Colleagues of mine have said that more bigger quakes will take place across the atlantic. If you even see the canary islands start to quake while living on the east coast, leave the east coast immediately. I have a full on evacuation plan for this situation. We were expecting a large quake to take place but only after ten years or so. Either way it's better to move to the central US if possible (as I am)

Well, there's been only one return to land boost back so far, and that was late last December. So yeah, it's probably something new for most people.

I saw it from launch to land and it was quite impressive

no quake info on USGS. explosion maybe?

seminole fag just walked back into my house from watching that SICK launch god bless america

You know bombs can detonatite underwater right it's a possibly

my dad woke me up saying he heard a big ass boom. so it was a rocket then?

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON I FELT IT
THERE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE EARTHQUAKES IN FLORIDA I CAME HERE TO CHECK IF ANYONE ELSE FELT IT

That's why it's so weird. Look at this baynews9.com/news.html

100% of the time if there's a rocket launch, that website will have a photograph up of it within minutes. If not, there should at least be a front page image of it on the landing pad ready to launch.

ya the second stage that came back down to land at the pad was loud as fuck i think it made a sonic boom on re-entry

Damn, I thought it was a car crash. Last time I heard a boom this late at night it was a wreck. I live at a bad intersection.

Was wondering why I didn't see any police lights.

Go outside you fucking spergs, musk is making history

Canary Islands not likely to create a massive tsunami: blogs.agu.org/landslideblog/2013/12/13/canary-islands-tsunami/

>implying mommy will allow me outside

sick rp my dude

I know this sounds fuckery but I live in Washington state and last weekend I felt an earthquake at about 1am. I looked it up and it said an earthquake occurred in my area at 8:50 or some shit. Didn't feel ahit till way later in the night. Prolly allyans we sum shit.

The shuttle was bigger and louder than the Falcon 9.
Plus as the other user stated this one did a full boost back which has only happened once before. It's moving supersonic when it comes back down.

Only an idiot would believe that if the canary islands had seismic activity there is a low chance of a tsunami. That's complete bullshit, it's extremely high. What the Fuck are you, a shill?

Is it finally happening soon?????

here's the launch and the landing of the first stage

go outside its happening they just launched nukes from cape Canaveral

>American Geophysical Union
I'm gonna take them at their word. The likelihood of a gigantic one-and-all slide is very low. It exists, but it's low.

Fort Lauderdale here, what's going on North fags?

read the replies faggot

It'd be nice for them to give us some kind of warning.

I'm in central florida and i felt it sooo

mobile.twitter.com/SpaceX/status/754906212429238272

Yeah I thought there was a helicopter in my backyard, Jesus Christ. Didn't know there was a launch today.

Man, landing rockets is some crazy alien shit. We've heard sonic booms before, but this shit certainly sounds a bit different. I've heard louder, but this sonic boom sounded more like a car accident up the street. A single BOOM instead of that usual BOOM BOOM of a space shuttle returning.

If the canary islands or even anywhere near them reach above 5.0 I am leaving Florida immediately. It is only inevitable that the big one hits. Sooner or later only a matter of time.

You didn't read the link, did you?

fucken mint

You're starting to sound like BLM

Felt it too... My single pane windows rattled like crazy. I live about 1hr south of Ocala and felt it. Treating it like a hurricane and going to bed.

Well I'm going back to sleep. Gotta get up early for work. Sorry for the false alarm m80s. There's gonna be plenty going on this with with the RNC anyway.

Sobs like a sonic boom, then, but not from a shuttle.

Now sacrifice yourself for our Lord and savior, KEK, you nigger lipped faggot.

ITS HABBENING

You in Daytona, Holly Hill, or Ormond?

Can you do New York and New England too? We would lose nothing of value there.

That's the original unedited scene.
