In the 80's and 90's they increased sentencing dramatically to cope with the then ongoing dindu crime wave. Looking at crime stats it seems to have been successful. If we're going to go with prison reform I suggest we make the "school to prison pipeline" an optional class track in high school for black kids so they can graduate directly to the prison of their choice. It's really a win/win, black people LOVE jail, and it gets them off the streets.

I was confused. I only know about one type of prison here. but it seems like this now:
Jail - Calabozo - when you get a few days/hours of confinement. usually at a police station
Prison - Carcel - you spend some years there
