What's the last 8+/10 movie you've watched, Sup Forums?
Prolly rogue one
La Haine was a 8
I watched Dog Day Afternoon last night for the 2nd time. Didn't remember it being a comedy 1st time i saw it but it definitely is.
Watched Wake in Fright recently and I'm certain it's the best australian film of all time.
It's comedic and scary, beautiful and disgusting, absurdist and completely real at the same time.
Perfect representation of the outback, the human condition itself and the effects of isolation and the depraved wilderness that lead to complete moral and social degradation of a man.
It's raw and uncompromised, well-acted, brilliantly photographed and edited.
A must watch for every male individual really.
To everybody born after 1975, this scene seems like pure autismo
Empire of the Sun.
Seen it Christ knows how many times but my friend hadn't seen it.
he was a bit of an autismo but without context it wouldnt make sense why the crowd was on his side
Shit taste m8
I've always felt like that was Pacino at his best. He wasn't just raising and lowering his voice to show emotions. With his relationship and love for that tranny cock in the movie, he was really acting.
Carnage: Swallowing The Past
It's basically a feature length Brass Eye episode and it's fucking gold.
I rewatched Only God Forgives a couple days ago. Cinematography 101. Easily Refn's best film. The amount of complex nuances and subtleties that the film has to offer is overwhelming. It's on the level of Kubrick's 2001 in terms of hidden meaning and symbolism.
it really grinds my gears how normies were like "oh my gosh Leo hasnt won an Oscar yet!!" but Pacino didnt win one till 93 for Scent of a Woman. Oscars aren't worth 1/10th what they used to be.
Spent an afternoon on a beach with her about a month ago. She's cool.
To be fair, Pacino was a dick in 1973, and that is probably the reason he only won an Oscar when he stole it from clinto
Watched Groundhog Day the other night.
If we're talking cinema, then Get Out.
>Get Out
>8+/10
Tell your wife's son I said hello
Roger Deakins has been nominated 13 times now for Best Cinematography and he still hasn't won a single Oscar.
Sidney Lumet never won an Oscar for any of his movies, they gave him an Honorary Oscar in 2005 just to "make up for it".
Kevin O'Connel had to be nominated for fucking 21 (twentyone) times in sound mixing/editing categories to finally get an Oscar this year for Sound Mixing in Hacksaw Ridge.
Leo was nominated for an Oscar 4 times and won on the fifth nomination, I don't understand why did it caught so much attention in the normie world.
because Leo XD hes my fav
Rebels of the Neon God.
The most melancholic city shots I've seen.
Great theme too.

But the beginning when the robbery starts, and his friend wants to leave, and Pacino argues but understands and says it's okay if he wants to go.
And when he's on the phone with his trap, and he gets all emotional. It was acting.
Now his acting is yelling "A GREAT ASS!" and he gets an Oscar for "Out of order?! I'LL SHOW YOU OUT OF ORDER!"
There's some really good acting out there but like you said about him being a dick back then, it's all just politics and who's sucking who's dick.
Leo is a good actor. I'll give him that.
I feel like he was better when he was starting.
He was great in Basketball Diaries and after seeing What's Eating Gilbert Grape I thought he was a real life retard until I saw him in Titanic.
Arnie is still the best movie retard of all time, even better than Mongo in Blazing Saddles.
kong: skull island
True Stories by David Byrne
Finally saw Arrival.
watching this rn senpai looks good. thank you.
It's a fan-fucking-tastic movie. I love it.
>Expect musical numbers every second like 'Hair'.
>Get 50% movie 50% musical
This is what elevated it to an 8/10 for me. I actually wish it was a few minutes longer, and that we saw more of the jazz club he had in the end. I loved it though. It's such a comfy movie, and although I hate how Hollywood sucks its own dick with this movie, it just really is a charming hit.
Shin Godzilla

Perfection.
I can't watch it again. Its just too unnerving for me
This. The only good australian film I've ever seen.
'blah bla by the hanging rock' or whatever the fuck its called, is terrible. Please nobody mention it.
holy shit, I was going to post this
Watched Fury Road again last night. First time I realised that the hype starts strong but after the canyon scene with the bikers it sort of dwindles, and the end sequence where they collapse the canyon isn't as breathtaking and insane as the start even though the stakes and spectacle is ramped up. It also suffers from being on my shitty ass TV with no crazy sound system.
Still 8/10, considered it a solid 9 when I first watched it and it's held itself well with more rewatches than anything except maybe Hot Fuzz
The Autopsy of Jane Doe
I can't be the only person that just imagines what life is like for these people.
Being born a 9/10 white women is just the genetic lottery. Literally nothing can stop you from success at that point except freak accidents.
Depressing to see.
Man, I would really really love to FUCK her, if you know what I mean.

Dawn of the Dead 1978. Ignore the somewhat dated makeup/effects but holy hell was not ready for such a godtier film.
It was probably Stalker by Tarkovsky, I'd give it a 10.

solid 8/10
Thread was for good movies dude.
>user, want some water?
That utter shit.
I really thought Cruise was going to bite the dust, redeem himself through death, finding honor yada yada ending his nightmares forever so him not feeling immortal like most of his other movies is a compliment but yeah, great movie.
Pained me to see 47 Ronin didn't ape, after it. Really thought they were gonna do that having Neo play the main part at first it was announced. Maybe they should've :^)
