What does Sup Forums think of this movie?

I just finished it and I'm not really sure what to make of it. Definitely interesting, although I'm not sure I would really call it great. I can think of many better experimental/surrealist films, but I'm glad I saw it.

I really enjoyed it but I can't say I've seen many films like it. What other experimental/surreal films would you recommend?

Some of my favorites probably come from the Czech new wave. Films like Daisies and Valerie and Her Week of Wonders. I liked Santa Sangre and I really need to get around to seeing Jodorowsky's other films.

Please can you briefly summarise what this film is about as I'm mildly interested in watching it

No spoilers pls

A group of guys during the English Civil War decide to desert. One of them is an educated man who is an assistant to an astrologer and is searching for another guy who stole some manuscripts from his master. They find the guy, who makes them search for treasure, and a bunch of trippy shit happens.

Kino as fuck. And im the kind of guy who hates the word kino.

Dudes eat mushrooms, weird shit happens.
Its not the kind of movie you can paraphrase.

Always meant to watch this movie, dunno why I never got around to it.

Thanks

Desert from what side? Am history fag, it matters

One of the strangest films I've ever seen, the bit where he comes out the tent fucks me up. I liked it.

One of the best films of the recent years. Mesmerizing, clever, funny. Makes for a really good second viewing.

Speaking of Wheatley, anyone seen free fire yet?

It made me laugh a lot.

Give me some some acid kino Sup Forums

Besides the obvious contenders like Jodorowsky and Space Odyssey.

Saw it at the premiere here in Dublin, thought it was great. Not sure I'd ever watch it again though

Prolly the most accessible of his films that I've seen. Amazing sound design too, nearly bursts your fucking ears

I need to rewatch it. With subtitles.

"Twilight of the Ice Nymphs".

Yeah definitely - it's a shame it doesn't seem to have a very wide release, at least not in the shitty little town I live in. I was honestly surprised to see they'd put it on for 3 days in our one cinema and it only sold like 6 seats total

A bit dated but trippy as fuck

The Trip

Tent scene with Blanck Mass is indisputable kino. Lots of other neat moments. Kind of goes off the rails in the end, a frequent problem with Wheatley, and the constant mirror-frames got a little goofy. Pretty obviously made to be watched high or tripping.

Son of the White Mare, a Hungarian animated film. It's on Youtube with English subs.

Both sides, I believe, since the characters are often in conflict with one another until the necessity to work together arises.
