My grandparents survived the war. They were from Krakow. They said that the German army that came to Poland were trying to help the Jews by taking them to Palestine, but the Polish Home Army insisted that they gas them instead. The Germans fought the Home Army bravely for a couple of weeks - often hiding and shielding Jews - but the Polish managed to capture a lot of Jews and then sent them to Auschwitz. Fuck the Poles.
