Helped the local law enforcement in my town solve a case they haven’t been able to solve for a year and a half a few months ago. They weren’t too happy about it but they reluctantly accepted the help eventually.
Since then, I’ve been helping out part time for cases they don’t have the time to investigate. Inbetween school, work, and detective work, I’ve managed to solve 9 cases in 4 1/2 months. Cops think I’m some sort of college prodigy but honestly I think it’s just common sense.
I’m probably making this sound easy but I haven’t slept well in over almost half a year.
They’ve informed me that other branches are interested in offering me a low level position in intelligence gathering.
This is cool and all but like I haven’t seen my friends in months. I haven’t had time for video games or movies or girls. Haven’t even been on this site in like 3 months. Am I too far in to back out? What would Sup Forums do

Imagine working at your part time job. Someone steals from your work place. You realize that it’s always on the same day. Around the same time. Eventually a coworker can’t find that 20 bucks she had in her purse. Similar time. Same day of the week as the other “customer thefts”. You cross reference the dates and times with the entire employee schedule. You dwindle the list down to two possible people. You set a trap. Lay bait down. For my bait I used a bunch of singles. My dad congratulates me and I hangout with him at the station for a while the next few days. Eventually we talk about some of his cases. I eventually help out. I take some folders home. Work on them myself. Police aren’t too happy some kid is playing cop but I’ve been helping and solving shit on my own so now it’s just kinda a thing they accept now.

You'd have a hard time accessing files if a judge sealed a case. Otherwise criminal records are public assess and can be attained through a court clerk. I literally just walk in the clerks office with my dad sometimes and talk for a few minutes and we get his files. I walk in there sometimes and just ask for my dads files.
