Why should we tolerate parasites? They argue that they contribute by investing, in many cases that which they did not earn. Their money could be invested without them. They have no value to society.

I think a lot of unemployed people are willing to work, and I don't see anything wrong with assigning people jobs based on aptitude. The issue, and no one will ever admit this, is overpopulation. Completely setting aside the whole natural resources, "we could feed all the children in Africa the soy we feed to McDonald's cows" bullshit, there is only so much work to be done, that hasn't been automated. The way the world economy works, everyone is supposed to justify and support their existence with a job, but we completely ignore the fact that once all the spots have been filled, all there is left to do is swindle and scam people.
Because nobody kills them for failing at life. Do that, and the issue resolves itself. You're otherwise stuck with them.

That's how my family did it. Due to them I'm pretty wealthy but still work and have been working since I was 16. I make more in interest than I make in income. I make more money a year working part time than I spend going to college.
If they have invested so much into the country that they own capital, why shouldn't they be privileged? If a man's family has been building factories and paying taxes for several generations, I see nothing wrong with him inheriting "privilege." Privilege certainly doesn't last long if mismanaged
I did not say that it must be hard work. If we could fulfill our needs with a 20 hour work week, that would be fantastic. If all who can work must, then perhaps those who currently advocate for greater employee productivity will change their tune.

as for the labor of the workers. they are workers not slaves. they can work elsewhere. they can buy their own equipment and work for themselves. however, they chose to use another's property and to receive a paycheck regardless of the companies well doing so long as they labor for that company. no one expects them to pay when the factory is losing money. the wage they have chosen does not ever become negative, short of destruction of property
