I was a tester on this game. Shit was no fun when you were playing it for 8 hours a day for six months. GTA III came out during the last month when we had not much to do, so that was pretty cool.

I dont disagree, the first sandy village hub and all levels connected were the best but I was under the assumption that the levels in most ps2 games werent designed linearly. The precursor basin or whatever (underworld in rock village) was a neat level. When you tested it what were your main critiques if you can remember them?

Game development moves slowly. The first month was essentially the first beach area, and simple collision testing and trying to make the shit crash. After the first couple of days I was walking around (IRL) like a zombie looking at walls and wondering what was behind them.

As a child I got stuck on forbidden jungle. After playing it as a teen I beat it easily. As an adult I beat it for nostalgia and trophies on ps3. It never was hard unless you were a child, then it gave you motivation to beat it. I didnt figure out the 101st power cell in volcano tube or w/e till I was able to drink.

Its hardest points as a child was 100% shit. The arena on misty island (which i somehow figured out how to bypass) the foggy bog shit (didnt figure out you could shoot the rocks) and that orb on top of the escape hatch from that atlantis shit on rocky city or w/e. Also the racing challenges were ass.

I used the long jump to jump over the switch so the dark eco didn't activate and I had a very easy, leisurely climb to freedom. It only took 3 or 4 tries to get the jump, it felt like it was intentionally left in by some kind soul who recognised the bullshit that section was.

They discovered the debug mode a year ago, it works in all 3 Jak games and even the HD collection.

You input some button commands and hey presto infinite life, freely moveable camera and you can hold down jump to just levitate anywhere in a level.

I was 7 when I got the ps2, it came with jack and daxter. It didn’t come with a memory card. Me and my brother would make it to the blue sages hut area and when my parents made us turn it off we lost everything, this continued for 2 weeks.
