It's shit

it's shit

It get's better the more you stick with it an get used to it's style. As an older viewer (29) I found the parent characters most interesting. Hannah does something that disappoints her parents, but it's really no big deal. She's of course too hard on herself about it. Wish the different home lives were explored more to develop the teen characters more.

Why is clay so incompetent?

Is this about another attractive white girl who kills herself?

>when the disclaimers start showing up at the beginning of the episodes
F E A R.jpg

For real though, episodes 9-12 are kino. Real good stuff.

It's good you contraction fag

It wouldve been good if Clay wasnt so annoying

And if some bad stuff actually happened rather than a drama queen feelies get bruised so that means everybody LITERALLY killed her

Sup Forums loves it though

>yes Clay you literally killed her because you were too beta to force yourself on her t. Tony

Thought it was good but it fizzled out towards the end.

It's actually incredible character-driven storytelling. I can see how someone might think it's too preachy with Clay's white knighting antics or too dramatic with Hannah's tapes, but there's a subtle difference between a character's point of view and the meaning of the show.

Clay's a loser who unconsciously loves to shit all over himself. He's got a guilt problem. That's why the lead up to his tape was so difficult for him, because he didn't know how he hurt Hannah, but he became so used to the idea that he killed her through his actions and so sure that he was responsible that he accepted the blame for Jeff's death and the multiple rapes. Even with Hannah saying that he isn't guilty of any of it, he still feels accountable because that's Clay's character. His crusade/white knighting is a projection of his own continued guilt. He blames himself for getting the girl he loved killed when he's completely innocent.

Hannah's a piece of shit for stirring up so much trouble and breaking her parent's hearts. The point isn't to think she was right to make the tapes, effectively haunting twelve people from beyond the grave when only one (Bryce) truly deserved to be punished for his action; the point was that, in her emotional state, she had to find a way to regain control. She blamed everyone else for her suicide before it even happened, even an easily distracted guidance counselor she set up for failure and a boy she drove away by saying one thing and meaning the other. She could have left a note for her parents saying "Bryce Walker raped me and I couldn't live with it. I'm sorry." She could have committed suicide somewhere else so her parents wouldn't have to find the body. She's selfish and cruel in her final days, and never takes true responsibility for herself. Her legacy will be the horrible things the tapes caused, including ruined futures, Alex's attempted suicide and, potentially, a school shooting.

The show is 10/10.

wew lad

Based Tyler needs to finish the job and end the other 12's lives.

Daily Reminder that Jessica did nothing wrong.

>Bryce will never be my friend

can we all agree that we just watched this for that qt suicidal

If the second season premiere starts with him shooting up the school, my dick will be diamonds.

Why is this garbage young adult shit even being discussed? Just fuck off back to plebbit or Sup Forums, no one wants you here

Jessica slapped and abandoned Hannah because she's a jealous cunt.

And I'd be surprised if she didn't get with Justin partially because he's the guy who ruined Hannah's reputation. Subtext, nigger.

That's actually some heavy stuff, hadn't seen it that way.

I loved how the characters were way more fleshed out in this than in the book. In the book we just sorta took Hannah's word as gospel, while here it's a lot less clear-cut. Like you said, Bryce deserves to have his dick sliced off but most of the other characters are at least redeemable.

Zack, Justin, Jessica, Alex, they all were decent. Tyler was a lot less morally grey but I felt for him because you can tell that nigga's a robot. Poetry Nigga (I honestly can't remember his name) was a dick but his heart was in the right place.

Courtney (who is extraordinarily difficult to buy as a popular girl) is a bitch. Sheri, still a bitch but not as much. Bryce, he's a cunt and deserves what's coming to him (unless they try to make this a Brock Turner scenario)

It doesn't belong on Sup Forums, you dumb faggot. If you don't like people talking about TV Shows on Sup Forums, then watch the finale of this show so you can get a good example of exactly how to kill yourself.

It's not shit. Stop being a hipster fag and thinking you're cool. Addictive series with decent characters and interesting to watch.

>watch the finale of this show
the finale is letting you know what you should do for watching the whole thing through and having such shit taste.

It is shit tho

It's strange how people can see the nuances of the rest of the cast and not see Hannah ultimately being selfish or Clay being driven by guilt.

Hell, I've even seen people talk about feeling bad for Bryce because he's clearly conditioned by his success and home life to feel like he can get away with anything. No supervision, no consequences, he's even aware as early as episode 2 of the fact that he needs to keep a 'clean' reputation to keep getting up to the shit he does. Bryce can shamelessly, innocently hang out with Jessica after raping her while she was blackout drunk, on her own bed, during her own party. There's something clearly wrong with him.

But fuck Courtney. Five-headed cunt.

I think Alex's suicide didn't really have much to do with Hannah, but rather with how fucked up his family seemed to be. His dad never accepted him the way he is.

it's unrealstic, melodramatic garbage. none of the characters act they way they would irl. the dialogue is so horrendous that it makes it tough to get through even 1 episode, the characters themselves are nothing but cliches and stereotypes... really there is nothing good about this show. it's amateurish shit

>It doesn't belong on Sup Forums

Yes it does, it appeals to the same demographic of overweight pasty virgins who think Trump is "problematic" and spend their free time discussing the latest marvel tv shows. You don't belong here

Our differences in taste have nothing to do with the validity of this thread being on the Sup Forums board. I'm sure you love all sorts of fucking terrible TV Shows, but I'm not going to go into one of their threads and say they don't belong.

What kind of pathetic loser do you have to be to go into a thread about a show you don't like and insult the people who are talking about it?

Lol what. This is hands down one of the most autistic "muh super secret club" posts that I've seen on Sup Forums

I can't stand people like Courtney. I dated a girl just like her and she was a two faced war Hawk who destroyed people's lives in high school.

why didn't Hannah and the azn girl fugg

>garbage netflix shows literally aimed at teenagers

if you can't see why this doesn't belong here then you're part of the problem

His family is only part of the problem. The problem for Alex was that Hannah was the only person who tried to take him to task for his mistakes. His fellow tape subjects on the honor counsel protected him from punishment, his father protects him from legal shit, and no one around him tells him that what he's doing is fucked up. He's not only upset by this, he's got a low tolerance for guilt because he's not used to feeling so incredibly guilty. Suicide is a self-inflicted punishment for him.

And he's been heartbroken about Jessica this entire time as well. I wouldn't be surprised if he feels the same kind of guilt about his part in her rape (through Hannah's retarded cause-and-effect way of looking at the 13 reasons list) as Clay did when he realized what happened the night of Jessica's party.

This bait is pathetic.

no one cares nigger, imagine trying to actually analyse a tv show aimed at 16 year old girls

Daily reminder Justin goes through twice the amount of abuse and trauma that Hannah does and should be worthy of your sympathy

>tv show
>Sup Forums board
>"This doesn't belong here!"

Your autism is showing.

>five-headed cunt
Fuckin' A.

>Courtney (who is extraordinarily difficult to buy as a popular girl)

She's a Hillary incarnate. She acts cool and progressive around others yet will destroy people's lives to cover her own ass.

>t. Doesn't understand that Sup Forums is the comics and cartoons board
Had a fair kek at that one m8erino

Obviously it's shit. It's being shilled hard as fuck and i have no idea why, we aren't the target audience. Well, what scares me is that we might be and I don't know it. Meaning we have a lot more underage than I thought.

>crossposting underage redditard doesn't understand board culture

well that's a shocker

>that jerk off scene

why did he squirt 4 squirts of lotion? excessive isn't it?

It's r9k kino user

it's the school holidays, all these children will be back at school next week. Still doesn't make it right, any show aimed at teenagers and legbearded dykes should be automatically banned from Sup Forums

Not to mention the "alleged rapist" line. The gay poetry dude telling her to fuck off was 100% satisfying.

Also I feel real bad for Tyler. He was a creep but he got a disproportionate amount of shit.

>Sup Forums
>board culture

please stop. jesus christ

it actually made me sick how this show got threads here. and not only did it get threads, they hit bump limit multiple times.

You gotta go back, though.

>omg I feel so super bad for this television character!
>Fuck X. They're an asshole!

is this really what Sup Forums has become?

go back to where?

>people acting all high-and-mighty about a show that deals with teenagers
>meanwhile they'll praise LITERAL COMIC BOOK MOVIES as being high art

The "reddit" meme's been making a comeback. I wonder why.

also its unrealistic he'd fap to something so lame and vanilla as that picture, has he not heard of pornhub?

Wherever it is you came from, friendo. You don't belong here though.

Have you considered the possibility that the people who browse this board don't fit a single, united demographic? And fuck, it's an incredibly popular show. Netflix has no need to shill it here or anywhere.

>board culture

You're the biggest, most incredible faggot. Slit your wrists.

I've posted on Sup Forums since the board was created. Try harder newfag.

>Have you considered the possibility that the people who browse this board don't fit a single, united demographic?
But for a long time, we literally did. This Reddit infestation has seemingly changed that though.

sure you have, buddy.

That's not true though.

Like all boards on Sup Forums, Sup Forums goes through FOTM phases, each year Sup Forums's tastes changes.

It wasn't that long ago faggot. My bet is that you came here directly from reddit not even a year ago. That's why you're so concerned about whose a newfag and stupid autistic shit such as "board culture."

I know that. Shit, Sup Forums used to be a liberal website, overall. Everything changes. But this show is like the antithesis of Sup Forums which is why it particularly blows my mind that people are discussing it here.

Is Tony gay? I'm only in 7 episodes.

This show has nudity, strong language, and other dark shit. How can people say this is targeted towards young adults and teens? It's clearly meant for people 18-30yo.

Just because most of the characters are high schoolers does not mean the creators of the show had 14 year old Katie in mind.

Yes.

You shouldn't browse Sup Forums until finishing it if you care about spoilers.

If you haven't noticed people are calling it shit.

Jeff dies. The last scene of the show is someone saying "Skye"

>nudity

where

Clay's porn folder.

Literally who is Jeff and literally who is Skye?

>Kills herself cuz she got rapes
>OMG why didn't I rape her it's what she wanted
Literally the worse episode.

Autist the show

I just wanna see Tyler shoot up the whole god damn school

>this guy offers you a ride home

What do?

Not if you're watching at 8X speed.

yes

>board culture

yep, it's autism!

>it's another normie flavor of the month netflix meme show

>'bohhhhhhhhh I'm such a tragic princess and I killed myself. I'll take y'all on a guilt trip'

what the fuck is this shit.

from the trailer, I thought It's a mystery show.

good, because that kids face is annoying as fuck and i bet the character is a whiney bitch

I'm trying to watch it now and the first episode has been a cringefest so far. Does it get better?

This show more than any other has made me realise how sociopathic some of the people on this board are. She was too scared to save her friend from being raped, got raped herself and thought she was responsible for killing Jeff. Would you just be fine?

>how sociopathic some of the people on this board are
It's not just this board. The 15-30 generation is a fucking mess.

>''GET THE FUCK OUT, REEEEEEEEEEE''
>"Why did you have to leave? booo hoooo"

Why do people keep saying this? She even says it's her fault and not his.

wtf is this really the kind of people I share this board with

I'm finished tape 3 b side yesterday and will continue it today but can someone explain to me why hannah is always busting clays balls? Sure he is like a beta dude but jeff tries to get him laid and shit why does hannah have to be a bitch about everything he does?

who the fuck is jeff?

Best boy

The dude clay is tutoring, the guy with earrings

thanks

You're welcome

i'm still not over the bathtub scene. that shit was so fucking daunting.
like i enjoyed the whole show, but that scene man. fuck.

yes. by about episode four you sorta settle into the sorta weak writing, and the last 5 or so episodes are really really good.

this desu
The suicide scene is really not aimed for young adults. It's pretty fucking vivid.

> its so hard to be a white middle class teenager, the show

Someone from university killed himself.

People stopped talking about it or caring like a week later.

This is part of why this is unrealistic.

> associating marvel nerds with people who watch normie shit

press f to pay respect to Jeff (he deserved better

Because netflix knows nobody actually cares about the age ratings.

What teenager goes

>better not watch it, im only 16 so that would be bad

?
