One time I was in Nashville, I met someone who helped me hop my first freight train, we were hoping to go west but ended up south in fucking Birmingham Alabama, we were tired as hell when we got there, so we decided it would be a good idea to go to a homeless shelter, it was not.
Those places are like open jails for the homeless. The showers are shared, as in no private showers, they all literally smelled of shit, and blood. I mean really bad.
It was just the farthest thing from glamorous lmao.
I was always hoping I'd find weed on the ground, but I mostly found other hard drugs on the ground that I either destroyed on sight or gave away. Being on the streets is just fucking weird.

You don't really get to witness too much cool stuff, its mostly mundane day to day stuff you see, people living their lives, not knowing you exsist, and then you see the depressing side of the homeless who don't travel (homebums) and realize these people really need professional help, and compassion, of which there is virtually none.

And the amount of cool things you get to witness is almost drowned out by the mundane and depressing, if you ever decide to go out there I highly reccomend building a relationship with God.
