GREATER ITALY

You lose Libya during ww2, not during the decolonization

There was a big wave of Italian immigration to the US after WWII, a lot of people in the Northeast are actually fully Italian.

So you're Venetian not italian

My point is that Libya was better off during colonial times and so were we

why not roman empire now and cleanse the middle east from infidels

Yeah, same about Brazil in São Paulo. But still a bigger Italy is just pants on head retarded. No idea why the north voted for a republic, too. It would be best if all of the regions separated. It would solve most of the problems in Italy.

Do you say it like that over there, "I'm Venetian, not Italian"? Do Italians not consider themselves Italians?

We was unified during the XX century. Before that we was really different people between north and south, and Venice was a distinct entity.
Now indipendentism is rising because we are a German-tier economy and south is Greece-tier, so a large slice of our taxes goes to tampon the debt of southern regions.
Funny thing is that Piedmont invaded and sacked both Veneto and South (it's why your ancestors emigrated in first place), and now we are much richer than them.

Your post made me want to learn about all of those things. Is Wikipedia good enough?

Also are separatist movements strong in most regions? Is is mostly north vs south, or are there other regions that want independence from everything?

you can always try again mario
