Ok boomer. Also lead zeppelin sucks and pink Floyd and stones are ok
Probably Radiohead but if some other more recent bands release consistently good albums that may change. Namely Daft Punk and Alt-J
The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success. The Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worthy of being saved.
New Order
N’SYNC
the obvious answer is Queen.
my answer is die antwoord.
Fuck the Beatles. 3 good songs...tops. They fucking suck
All those bands are garbage.
Trips of truth.
Super Furry Animals
Well no, because the beatles would be 3rd in that list, but you were close.
i like your style!
I'd say Aerosmith
Fleetwood mac for sure, and the Rolling Stones are garbage
Deep purple
> Alt-J
Relaxer was straight garbage and their best album, their debut record, is forgettable 2010s alt-rock.
Black Sabbath
Lol
Saying that these kinds of bands are the best of all time is so corny
I'm not saying they're the best band of all time, but if you genuinely believe that they only have three good songs then you clearly haven't listened their albums in any meaningful context.
Mine:
1) Led Zeppelin
2) Neil Young & Crazy Horse
3) The Flaming Lips
4) Fleet Foxes
5) The Black Angels
> The Black Angels
Literally who?
No. The Beatles weren't even a great band, let alone the greatest. HOWEVER what they were was truly brilliant songwriters. Take that away from them and they're mediocre at best. Quite possibly greatest songwriters of all time, collectively, or at least top 5, but not bands.
No huge disagreements with the other 3, though I would definitely add Queen. Deep Purple were also hugely influential and almost always massively underrated.
For modern (say 1990 onwards) I would give it to Muse. I would definitely put them above others frequently mentioned in that category such as Radiohead and Oasis. Far more consistent.
Kek, theyre some knock off of The Doors and Velvet Underground. Okay at best.
> no Black Sabbath anywhere on these lists. You are all gay.
Except the latest Muse project fucking SUCKED. Radiohead has been much more consistent.
> "Far more consistent"
> Drones
> Simulation Theory
These albums are trash. They should've quit they were ahead. The only thing they've been consistent about is trying to make The Uprising over and over for their last four albums.
You mean that guy who bit some frogs head off and worked with Post Malone- KEK
...
Cant just dismiss Iomi, Ward, and Butler like that, mang
>The Velvet Underground
>The Ramones
>Godspeed you! Black emperor
>The Moody Blues
>Black Sabbath
Literally who?
Even if this is an old shitty pasta, it kinda is right at all
Muse he says...Muse
one of the most overrated bands of all time
Except Radiohead haven't been relevant for over 20 years.
Drones was trash but Simulation Theory is great, definitely peaked with Black Holes and Revelations though
Rush earned a place. They didn't swap out members like a temp agency. More gold/platinum than KISS. Oh, and they are all real musicians.
Yeah, he's right but like I said that's my top five. I'd rather listen to them over The Beatles, because I don't like boy bands, no matter what decade they're in.
Angels' "Passover" is nearly a perfect album, and Young Men Dead is my jam.
Could easily Cream or The Doors
Tool
The rest of the band you fucktard
The Ramones
no that's Townshend, Entwistle and Daltrey
The Ramones are garbage
Get your punk shit outta here nigger cuck
The Grateful Dead
>flaming lips
I'm from Bethany Oklahoma and see Wayne Coyne on a reg. The dude is trash.
this
a better question is who are the top 5 most important artists in the last 80year?
Sly and the family stone
arn't even good punk.
Checked and correct
Claiming the Beatles weren't one of the most influential bands of all time is retarded. Get your head out of your ass. They sold shit tons of records because the majority of people wanted to listen to their music and at the end of the day, that is significant in making them influential. As for critics, it's all subjective and in this day and age, their opinions are fucking pointless. No one fucking goes to see a movie based on what a critic thinks, or buy and album. I agree The Beatles music, especially their early stuff, is highly overrated but at the time, it evolved to pave the way for pop music to come. Best band ever? Depends what makes a band the best. The music itself is entirely subjective so no one can answer that definitively. If it's based on influence, adding new defining things to the genre, etc, then The Beatles are definitely one of the best and that's coming from someone who doesn't even like their music.
Second this. Actually, > LZ. So goddamned tired of Robert Plant, his whine makes skin crawl.
Based
in that order? no beatles = shit
Uh,
>Velvet Underground
Granted that "Peel Slowly and See" is one of the most influential albums of all time. They had 2, maybe 3 good years before it all went to hell
>The Ramones
Again, good solid debuts and follow-ups. Then it got repetitive with a few rare breakthroughs.
>Godspeed WTF?
Who the fuck are they?
>Moody Blues
Yes, consistently good, but never great.
>Black Sabbath
Never been the same since Ozzy left.
I agree, a list with no Beatles is shit
No.
Radiohead
Black Sabbath
Like an asshole? That's disheartening. He seems like a freak genius. Bummer.
Rush
Keith Moon
>Tool
>Helloween
>Eagles
>Genesis
>Aerosmith
>Metallica
>Entombed
Stool*
I would definitely put The Eagles up there.
In their prime no band was better than Metallica
Aerosmith is overrated
Brothel Californication is the best shit ever.
You would definitely be wrong, motherfucker!
The Last Resort is a great song though.
aka The Bangels
Read the first letters of each band.
Took baby
Faggot ass bands
Lol
Beatles music is not even that good.
It's a product of their era, but looking back all of their music is rather lackluster
Fuck you...
>Faggot ass bands
You mean, like boy bands? Backstreet Boys, One Direction, Nsync and thise chinese guys PTS or something?
Queens of the Stone Age
The Smiths
The Clash
>Lackluster
Please, explain
Girugamesh!
Can't agree with this.
Success is not an indication for intellecutal qualities.
Floyd
Tool
Zepplin
Queen
Pearl Jam

>Queen
>Stone Roses
>Dark Age
It's simplistic and boring.
They were only slightly ahead of the curve but people caught up to them and passed then.
Kek
>Nirvana
>Alice In Chains
>Pearl Jam
>Aerosmith
>Linkin Park
in that order (rock only)
Electric Light Orchestra
Fake news
I understand this for their earlier stuff, but I don't get how someone could think this of Revolver or Sgt. Peppers.
>Metallica
>Megadeth
>Slayer
>Black Sabbath
>Anthrax
in that order (tm)
