What a shit film

What a shit film

DELET

dinero made ugly children with a ugly women.

What a shit thread. Congrats fag.

Leave this board.

Scorcese is an overrated hack.

Kinda like your mom and dad made you.

I watched this last night and it was pretty average. The fact that Ebert rates it so high makes him a fucking hack.

Cybill Shepherd was smoking hot though.

Seeing the 4K release of this in theaters last year was amazing, it really makes you feel like you're driving alongside him.

>it really makes you feel like you're driving alongside him

So what was his problem? I thought he was gonna go full day of the rope but he copped out after he just seemed to remember that hooer he saw in his car once

go to bed Robert.

PTSD, most likely. It's kind of lingering in the background but is never really built upon that much in the film. Travis being praised by society at the end of the film is a contrast to how Vietnam vets were treated by society after the end of the war, which is probably intentional.

1. Taxi Driver
2. Goodfellas
3. Wolf of Wall Street
4. Shutter Island

haven't seen the rest LMAO

>You know who lives there?

>watched shitter island but not casino or mean streets

is color of money good? i love tom cruise

WAT?

Travis is us, the autist losers, in film format.

What a shit bait

it's shit

not as shit as the departed though

How can I get a Scorsese beard? I have the chin part and the mustache but they're taking too long to connect.

>you are now aware that Scorcese wasn't acting in that scene
>he actually made Taxi Driver as an elaborate cover-up for the murder of black guy cucking him
>no one's caught on in 40 years

what's the worst scorsese movie

Tell me otherwise

I've been NEET for over 2 years only saying a few words a week to my mother, locking myself in my room day after day it doesn't mean I'd enjoy this film. Explain to me why it is highly praised here especially

the departed unironically. anyone claiming it's good merely looked at the cast and assumed it

hmm i have been meaning to watch it but all i know about is the cast and it's in Boston? Why do you think it's so bad?

Because he's a Ching Chong Chop Suey Gung Fooey faggot who's gay for the original Chinky version.

Horrendous accents
Consistently visually ugly
Predictable

Just an all around pile of shit. I can't remember finding anything redeeming about it.

its a meme film for "cinephiles" basic plebbit tier garbage to appear edgy.
would not appear in anybodies top 10 films. ever.

>Explain to me why it is highly praised here especially

Great character study with an accurate depiction of isolation and loneliness, flawless perfomance from DeNiro, haunting score, great cinematography that manages to capture the feel and look of that dark, mysterious New York.

That kinda sums it up.

Ray Winstones accent was fucking terrible

Genetics. You didn't win that lottery.

>accurate depiction of isolation and loneliness,
That's where you're wrong kiddo

>calls the movie reddit
>proceeds to post an image of one of the most praised films by reddit

>would not appear in anybodies top 10 films. ever.

How new are you? everytime a top 10 thread gets made, you can see at least 5 guys with Taxi Driver in their top 10

I like the part where he stone cold murders a bunch of scumbags and gets celebrated for it, walks free then is super happy about life all of a sudden despite being in the same situation

It was really realistic and made me think.

Why do you assume he's happy?

Why is he wrong?

>That's where you're wrong kiddo

I'M LONELY
DEBATE ME

>That's where you're wrong kiddo

Where do you think it got something wrong?

This movie is objectively perfect.

So you take everything you see at face value?

>proceeds to post an image of one of the most praised films by reddit
The pic related was an example of how taxi driver is reddit you dumbfuck

t. normie

It was New York in the 1970's, which was a massive shithole by my understanding.

It's still unlikely that he would have gotten away with what he did, but not as unlikely as you might think.

Oh great Swami, please bequeath your enlightened understanding upon me. Unwrap the metaphorical layers so I may at last gaze upon the deeper meaning of this masterpiece.

>I'M LONELY
>DEBATE ME
accurate depiction

Taxi driver and the big lebowski are both in my top 10
Also check em

I don't think he was happy though, watch the ending again, he didn't learned anything, nothing has changed, something will trigger him and make him do something crazy again.

perfect post, I too would like to be enlightened

>trying this hard to be an edgy contrarian
the departed is a great film, great acting all round and good cinematography.
Not as good as the original imo

t.pretentious numale

What the fuck is this bullshit...

Sure thing pal, it was only an example..

what are the other 8?

literally Scorcese's best movie until Silence was released

Alright,

I haven't seen this movie in quite a while, but I remember that the absolute last shot is of the driver, looking directly at himself through the backway mirror, and the shot feeling very tense and fearful. I was under the impression that when he looks at himself, he feels fear and disgust, and the camera quickly turns away. Basically, he can't look at himself.

Taxi Driver has the best end credits of all time prove me wrong

im not even a jazz guy

Or, he's pretty fucking stoked and happy that he's a hometown hero, the blonde woman wants a piece of his dick and he just got done chilling with his friends and you're reading too deep in to it because of le ebin scorsese

w-woah..
What was the significance of the crumpled 20 dollar bill he kept and paid the fat guy with?

A reminder of how shitty he thought everyone and everything was, he didn't use it himself because it was dirty money

>Taking the bait
For what purpose?

Not the guy you're replying to to, but the scene was intended to be ambiguous. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge any other interpretation of it just proves that you're either an idiot or a shitposter.

Okay, I thought you maybe wanted to discuss a movie, but you're just here to shitpost. That's fine too user.

>Scorsese acknowledged several critics' interpretation of the film's ending as being Bickle's dying dream. He admits that the last scene of Bickle glancing at an unseen object implies that Bickle might fall into rage and recklessness in the future, and he is like "a ticking time bomb". Writer Paul Schrader confirms this in his commentary on the 30th-anniversary DVD, stating that Travis "is not cured by the movie's end", and that "he's not going to be a hero next time.

Too drunk to list em all correctly

Lighten up pinhead

He's a fucking hack anyway, what does he know?

Im guessing the writer is also a hack and doesn't know shit right?

nice buzzword i dont think you know what it means

I agree.
Looking back it wasn't very good.

>eveyone besides me is an idiot

Why fucking show a positive ending then come out later and say it's the exact opposite? It's just tampering with the original vision for the sake of creating conversation, A.K.A what fucking hacks do

ie - What J.K Rowling does

Sure is samefag in here

>Taxi Driver (1976)
>81631976
>1976

Yeah dude I forgot you can only have one post per thread

You fucking monged out spazwit

It didn't seem like a positive ending to me..

I didn't like it but it's not a bad film by any means. It was just... too American for me.

>You
Sure is a faggot in here

>It was just... too American for me.
t.Mohammad

>writers are perfect

made me kek

So you have never posted anything worthwhile and you don't know that you can recieve replies and discuss shit in here, and you can post more than one time. Hahaha damn.

>tenacious pleb

Oh yeah no this thread totally isnt lw quality b8 being samefagged by the same autist who has been outed doing this time and time again. The same autist who gets suspiciously defensive the minute anyone calls him out.

...

this is Scorsese's only good movie.

Travis Bickel did nothing wrong!

He took a cutie to a porn theater in 70s time square for his fist date. At the very least its a faux pas.
