Ani and Luke look cool. Rey looks like a dumpy idiot.

Star Wars is a glorified Grey's Anatomy episode now. The female protagonist, the nonsensical Finn & Poe pairing, Kylo rocking long locs and a superficial scar instead of his helmet (which signified his obsession for a legacy, which is essentially the entire reason he turned bad) bodes well for this franchise's new intended audience all thanks to none other than Kathleen Kennedy. I'll still pay money and watch it though since I've already been indoctrinated into the brand as a kid and there's quite literally no going back now.

>WAAA I CANT STAND THERES A FEMALE IN MY FANTASY MOOOBIEEE

Reminder that based Mark is only here for a paycheck and the rare opportunity to fuck with Kathleen Kennedy and get away with it.

Sup Kathleen

I'm more upset that there's a Twilight-tier protagonist in my fantasy movie. There's no excuse for quality this fucking awful.

stop making assumptions you stupid fuck, it doesn't matter what race is dominate, we're pushing towards a marxist society which has proven time and time to have fallen in FLAMES... read a history book you mentally ill freak

had nothing to do with the p.c./girlpower narrative, far more complex than that

side note, look what trump has become, a basic neocon.

things are changing for the worse, not the better-- key difference here

they're going to have sjw views because that's what media is shoving down their throat, look at new star wars for no better example.

thank god someone put the names on them, I would have never guessed otherwise

It's Avatar
Kylo is literally prince Zuko, even the scar
Kylo Ren is going to have a redemption arc at the end of episode 8, he's going to help Rei and friends defeat Snoke.

Also, Snoke is the titular Last Jedi

Welp this thread is already AIDS

This. It would be cool if it didn't have the fucking names spelled out on it. Normies don't have a fucking clue.

Will Rei still a marysue?

>Snoke is the titular Last Jedi

I'm excited for it. I like the design of those weird sand speeders and the idea the PT Jedi had it all wrong. Good way to include them as canon without having the prime canon example of top-tier force users being a militaristic dogmatic megachurch that kidnaps children and forces them to be celibate and fight as soldiers

Man what I would give to be this dumb again and have overly simplified (almost fantasy like) views on the world.

But no, I have to live in reality where things are not as easy to grasp.

screencap it

explain the tree thing

Apparently the recent announcements confirmed elements of a script leak. Namely

>Rose being an engineer in an estranged Resistance cell on a mining planet.

>There being a mining planet at all and a scene of ships scouring the surface to extract red spice from underground.

It's apparently an old draft since Lando is in it and Billy Dee Williams confirmed he's not back. But it also featured

Rey's parents being villagers who were enslaved by the First Order and left her behind for her own protection. They've been turned into cyberized laborers who don't remember her.

Snoke is an aristocrat from before the Clone Wars who became obsessed with harnessing the Force to achieve immortality and power and although he controls the Dark Side he doesn't consider himself a Sith and believes that the old ways of the Dark Side and the Light are a waste of time.

Leia is injured and spends most of the movie out of commission.

Luke dies and becomes a Force Ghost.

No word if it's real or if they're using any of it. But it's kinda' interesting.

Stronk independent woman don't need no man.

Of course she will be.

Go back to Sup Forums and stay on your shitty containment board.
You should spend a little bit of time in the gym. You'll feel better about yourself.

I wonder if we'll get a threatening and more interesting villain this time. Kylo Ren has already proven himself to be ineffectual and he'll probably defect at some point. The other knights can't be too much better. Captain Phasma is literally nothing. And Snoke is a decrepit old man.

Isn't Benicio Del Toro supposed to be playing a villain in this? Where is he?

man you're dense as fuck, of course it's a very complex situation, but ultimately it can be boiled down to a less productive and civilized society

this has nothing to do with the inclusion of girls or your race, this goes far beyond that and YOU'RE the one looking at the current "tide" as a simplified view and "just ride it out bro, I'm an adult lol!"

you're dumb as fuck

I'm hardly visit pol, that's how blind you are-- you think these statements can only evolve out of a radical memeist board

and once again you've resorted to making assumptions about me, I have no interest in proving to you have sucessful I may or may not be, it's besides the point-- try to tackle my argument like an intelligent person

nah nvm, just keep living in your fantasy world, it'll work out right? it always does hehe ^_^

>they're going to have sjw views because that's what media is shoving down their throat, look at new star wars for no better example.

The media is trying to shove it down their throats, it's not going well. There's a reason why Ghostbusters 2016 was one of the most hated youtube videos.

>Luke dies and becomes a Force Ghost.

It's likely this is going to happen regardless of any leaks being real, however the only way I'll accept it is if he pulls an Obi wan and just chooses to get killed in order to become a Force ghost.

He's a Lando-ish intergalactic entrepeneur who rolls around in a massive spaceship that looks like a casino and apparently is doing business with the folks at the mining planet Crait. Finn and Rose end up running into him but he pulls a Reverse Lando and actually betrays them to the First Order for real.

Rose ends up getting captured and is apparently relevant or important enough that Rey and Finn team up to rescue her from Snoke's castle.

>nah nvm, just keep living in your fantasy world, it'll work out right? it always does hehe ^_^
It always has for me.
Maybe I'm extremely lucky.
Or maybe I'm the type of person that does things, instead of having things done to me.

Moar, user

There's a very specific part of the population that willingly accepts the brainwashing and I think it's so small that it will eventually work itself out. At least in the US - I can't speak for other Western countries.

The older people are too old their change their ways and this hyper-political correctness is just not cool for younger people these days. It's the establishment and young people want to work against that. So in my opinion you have a very vocal minority of people that are already a minority of the generations alive right now.

Supposedly the coming generation is going to be the most conservative we've had in a while, but we'll have to wait and see on that.

>hmm I wonder if this spoiler is actually worth using spoiler tags or just ironic shitposting
>read first two words
NOPENOPENOPENOPE

Why is marey sue training is she already is capable of defeating a powerful shit lord one day after learing about the force and lightsabers?
Really activates those almonds, doesn't it?

Reminder that you could be shitposting alongside William Shatner right now

ALright cam rip only no ticket for them

now you're trying to take the conversation to a individualist point of interest, what the fuck is wrong with you

>individualist point of interest

>people who don't share my perspective are living in a fantasy world

yeah it's just me huh.

Glad he changed his mind about reddit.

>The protagonist is impervious to criticism because muh vagina

Rey is cool, Lucas originally toyed with the idea of a female lead so it's not like it's anything shocking or new.

This SJW garbage you're all shitting out is a fucking joke, she played her part well in the force awakens as did Finn.

The Last Jedi will be amazing and I can't wait for it to release

She can also do a jedi mind trick with zero training
Why did Luke even have an academy and apprentices in the first place? Using the force is apparently easier to learn than driving a car so there should be thousands of Jedi Masters independently training themselves all over the galaxy

Damn, you got me >:)

discussing the effects that marxism, or P.C., has on the general population
>we're just changing bro! it's just a tide!! be an adult you should see this, stupid Sup Forumsact haha
no it's not, it's textbook Marxism and in every society that ran on marxism beliefs failed horribly
>well just be the best you, you can be! it'll work itself out
you're dumb as fuck

please stick to discussing light sabers with the rest of these sheep

>believes that the old ways of the Dark Side and the Light are a waste of time.
so he's nu-Kreia with a shitty goal. but why does he want to conquer the galaxy if he wants to be immortal? doesn't that increase the risk of him dying by going to war? wouldn't it be safer to just continue running his casino and staying far away from any sort of conflict?

Why is she cool?

All we got are rumors. The most credibles ones so far

>Rey begins training with Luke but he's desillusioned with the Jedis and she questions his methods and yadda yadda yadda.

>Snoke finds out where they are and sends Kylo and the Knights of Ren to kill them. Luke takes out the Knights while Rey fights Kylo and ends up capturing him. Luke wants to kill him, Rey doesn't want to, Kylo tries to turn her against Luke, Rey and Kylo begin getting all close and shit.

>Meanwhile Leia is injured in a First Order attack and Laura Dern's character takes over. The Resistance outpost on Crait is vital and Finn ends up there and hooking up with Rose. They meet Del Toro who sells them out to the First Order. Dern is a shitty leader so Poe essentially stages a coup and rallies the Resistance to help out at Crait.

>Rey leaves to join the fight after sensing Finn in distress and takes Kylo along with her, but it's all part of keikaku and he escapes. Finn and Rey end up in Snoke's castle while Poe battles Hux and Phasma and those guys over at Crait.

>Snoke reveals his background, whatever it may be, and ditches Kylo for Rey. Luke shows up and saves her, forcing Snoke to ditch for the day. Rey and Luke are on the same page now, but then butthurt Kylo kidnaps Rey so he can force her to help him start his own Force order with hookers and blackjack. Luke reunites with a recovering Leia to join the fight in order to rescue Rey and target the First Order now they've been dealt a solid blow by the loss of the battle at Crait.

She has the same qualities original Leia did, albeit rougher around the edges, her past is also a lot more mysterious, especially her ability to understand and learn the ways of the force quicker than any other Jedi seen in the series, which alludes to something special about her.

Also, you have to remember the demographic has changed since A New Hope, a female lead isn't anything groundbreaking or new in 2017, if you look past what is between her legs I think she's fantastic as a lead and Finn and Poe compliment her well.

Jesus Christ

That sounds awful

I don't care that she's a woman. But you have to admit, her character wasn't written very well and there's a reason it left a bad taste in the mouth of so many people.

>implying ani is easiest one to tell apart. after which film resolution quality goes into play.

You want pottery?

That's because it's impossible to write a strong female lead with flaws without making the source or association of those flaws directly to her gender, lmao.

>But you have to admit, her character wasn't written very well
Maybe. Sometimes she does present as abrasive and cold to the audience however this may be intentional.
Think of it like the problem puppy someone brings home and is annoying and hard to like, eventually though the puppy learns, comes out of it's shell and becomes very dear to the owner.

terrible analogy I know but I hope you can understand what Im trying to say

So an edgier version of ESB?

>a female lead isn't anything groundbreaking or new in 2017

I think you need to be telling the producers that.

So your reasons for thinking she is cool is we don't know a lot about her and she's like a character we've already seen before. Riveting.

That's a cop out.

Rey already has flaws that aren't related to her gender. She has intense abandonment issues and is looking for the father she never had (Han). That's good! They didn't play it up enough, though.

shut the fuck up faggot

I love Diana Christensen, one of my favorite female characters ever.

youtube.com/watch?v=r6xwbXOiQ4g

it's disappointing though that she will pop out a nigglet and the next Skywalker will be a nappy haired negro

Is there a punished luke edit yet?

Why don't you shut the fuck up?
You're the type of cunt who comes into threads all doom and gloom looking for negatives in anything, even if they aren't there

They hardly played it at all, let alone enough... and generally abandonment issues ARE inherently a female problem.

you and your faggot memes

seconding this

Trailer did nothing for me, it looks exactly like Force Awakens.

Doesn't make any sense for Luke to die in the second film. Nobody died in Empire and his death would be meaningless.

:^)

this is for you bill!

BRRAAPPPPPPPPP!!

If they kill Luke, I will have my people film a beheading of Mickey Mouse.

and you're a cuck who's trying to past the garbage that is these shitty characters as anything else but that, shitty characters that are trying to push a crooked narrative

>Rey doesn't want to
that was quick. you'd think she'd call for his head after killing her mentor in front of her eyes and putting her black bf in a coma. it's not Kylo is relevant to the plot since Rey can just go to Crait by herself. and it seems like he doesn't come back into play until he kidnaps Rey to start his force order with hookers and blackjacks? what?

Why are they feeling the need to turn Luke into Toph from Korra? Who OK'd this? Did they not see how much the fans hated retconning fan favorites into being terrible people off-screen?

which website could this be captured from?

>cuck
good good, let your hate flow through you

p-pls

Is that...

>abandonment issues are an inherently female problem
ebin post, weren't you supposed to be in support of feminisim?

I never heard the part about Luke saving her from Snoke and them being cool again. The original """leak""" I heard made it seem like Rey was now disillusioned with Luke too and Kylo, now disillusioned with both, takes her off thinking they can say fuck you to both of them and do something else.

And we can kiss recovering Leia goodbye, since she's confirmed to not be in IX.

lmao

Fuck no... woman belong in the kitchen. But seriously woman characters can strong and inspiring, but you have to be willing to show the horrors of being a female to make it work-- SJWars is unwilling to do this, along with mainstream media. It cannot go both ways, and it's probably making woman miserable more than empowered... but what do I know.

The reason male leads work better is because they have no shortage of flaws to pick from, as men are more varied in personality and intelligence, woman are... rather basic bitches dare I say.

>implying you've ever met one besides your mother

>And we can kiss recovering Leia goodbye, since she's confirmed to not be in IX.
aw shucks. I wanted to see her in IX completely as CGI kek.

I tip... my fedora to you, dare I say.

Name me one strong female lead, can even be from a novel, who's flaws weren't inherently based on the female psyche.

another goddamn empire clone?

can someone link me the new trailer, youtubes shitty search engine thinks I want to watch trailer breakdowns for reatards or reactions to the trailer

Why even bother if you're just going to classify everything under the sun as a "female" flaw to prove people wrong? There's literally nothing anyone could say to "disprove" you if you're going to say blatantly untrue shit like abandonment is inherently a feminine flaw.

But just to satiate your autism,
>Hermione Granger (book version)
>inb4 not a lead, all 3 of the trio were main characters
>inb4 not a stronk female character fuck off
>flaws:
>collapses under pressure
>smug to a fault
>untrusting of others
>inflexible

>"Celebration"

What marketing retard came up with that? Sounds lame as fuck.

this

I'd hit it.

There's no crooked agenda. Disney just wants Star Wars to appeal to the Hunger Games fans and young adult novel readers and wants Marvel to appeal to males.

It's not that big of a deal. Many of the people complaining on this site about Rey hadn't even spent more than a few hours thinking about Star Wars in like the 3 years before they learned that Episode 7 was going to be made.

Please be real

I just saw Rogue One

It was pure fucking kino, miles ahead of The Force Awaken

library.wcsu.edu/dspace/bitstream/0/527/1/Final Thesis.pdf

The absence or removal of fathers is a great example to understand where abandonment issues stem from, and you will find that boys do not develop this mental disorder when their father leaves, they get other negative traits.

A woman is almost guaranteed to suffer this when a father is absence through their upbringing.

Again, you and the people in your camp like to disregard science that is readily available to you.

Anywho...
>Hermione Granger (book version)
Didn't read the book so I'll have to take your word on that. Why shouldn't I? You've proven you know what you're talking about.

>TFA = female lead
>Rogue One = female lead
>Rebels = multiple female leads
>Battlefront 2 = female lead
>Last Jedi = female lead
>Forces of Destiny = multiple female leads
>Episode IX = female lead

Where were you when millions of Star Wars fanboys were BTFO forever by Queen Kathleen?

YAAAASSS QUEEN SLAY!!

the shill cuck who thought that was a good idea should be fired tbqh

Great, now if you're going to inherently restrict your discussion of abandonment issues to the case where the opposite-sex parent is absent, show me objectively that guys don't get "abandonment" issues when their mom walks out on them. Because otherwise it looks like you're using "abandonment issues" when you really want to say "daddy issues" which are but a subset of the more general case

>Didn't read the book so I'll have to take your word on that.
I don't read anything either and always form my opinions on random hearsay around the internet or wikipedia articles.

>>Rebels = multiple female leads

Rebels has a male lead, with 5 other lesser leads(2 female, 1 male, alien, and droid). Rebels primarily focuses on Ezra and his development as a Jedi.

They have plenty of studies on young men who lost their mothers at a early age, do you know what the conclusion is?

>They are resilient, responsible and independent.

Men do not develop mental issues the same way woman do.

It's almost like we're biologically different, hmm.

>Name me one strong female lead, can even be from a novel
Can even be from a novel that I didn't read at all! Anything! I'll just invent up random points as I go!
