Summary of video:
She started curling age 5, somewhat of a prodigy winning 4 national tournaments before 2014 olympics and a clear favorite to go there.
But in the tournament to decide who goes to Sochi she choked in the finals.
She was devastated and even considered quitting curling, but then she ran into Mari Motohashi (the second from vancouver olympics) and Mari suggested she come with her back home to the north and play curing there instead.
She forms a new team, takes lessons on how to be stronger mentally and wins Japans first world championship medal (silver in 2016).
And now she finally qualified for the olympics (at the expense of her old 2014 team even), also Mari Motohashi is with them as alternate.
And here is a video report from the same curling village in the north from 2006.
Yoshida (3rd) and Suzuki (2nd) appears having just placed 3rd in the national middle school curling championship.
