just Jan Levinson.

Dr. Fraiser, I'm SG1

can someone post the MS paint of the cast in S1 vs the cast in the last season?

Was there any way they could have stretched out the Goa'uld as the main bad guys? Replicators, Ori and Wraith were trash tbqh.

I didn't really have a problem with the wraith, especially since it was in a separate galaxy, but I can definitely agree on the Ori.

Replicators could have been really good I think if they left it as a sort of plague, but then they made the people replicators which is where it started going bad for me.

I agree with the replicators part, the human replicators were shit tier but it was interesting before that.

Yeah, my main complaint with SG-1 is they perpetually wrote themselves into a corner by constantly raising the stakes. They did jack shit with the Tok'Ra arc, and the Gou'ald System Lords being a bunch of fuedal warlords fighting eachother, was pushed aside for big bad enemies. Anubis was a fag, space legos sucked, and the space mormons sucked too. Ba'al was the best villian of the show, and as far as canon power levels he was a joke.

was being Zat part of your plan?

...

I wish the Stargate was revealed to the public towards the end of the series.

It was in that episode where they were all made impotent by those technologically advanced faggots.

The canceled movies would have done just that.

Yeah I remember that one but I would have liked to see it for real.

Does anyone have any webms from Ba'al's gravity funland?

This guy made me mad as fuck especially when I was a kid, great character tbqh.

>mfw Thor beamed in during Disclosure

>mfw clip show but not a clip show

...

Do you think Trump and IRL Thor are close friends yet?

Atlantis would be the best sci fi series ever with no teyla, no ronen and a better villain than the fucking smurf vampires.

TOP tier.

It would have been better regardless if they finished off the whole storyline properly instead of Atlantis being cancelled.

>its a flashback episode

Well instead of having Ares killed off screen with a Puddle Jumper droning his Ha'tak, they could have introduced him as a System Lord who still had Jaffa followers.
Reveal that his Jaffa know he's not a God, but what they do know is that he's one hell of a fighter and commander. The type that leads from the front, swinging a huge fucking axe. Maby a huge fucking axe that has a staff weapon built in.
His Jaffa follow him, not because they think him a God, but because they think he's fucking awesome!

That could have worked for a bit.

Thats a big stance

This was a major problem. "HEY! A NEW SYSTEM LO- AND HE'S DEAD!"

Hahahahahahahaha How The Fuck Is UNSCHEDULED ACTIVATION Real Hahahaha Nigga Just CLOSE THE IRIS! Nigga UNPLUG THE GATE Haha

Indeed.

But Ronon Dex (and Jason Momoa) was great, and the Wraith were solid antagonists; they had the right balance of being threatening but having believable weaknesses the protagonists could exploit. Todd is also a top-tier baddie-turned-bro. Teyla is hard to defend though.

OWLS?

Teyla was the resident strong female character.
The problem with her is that instead of making her mentally strong like Sam, they decided to be retards and make her physically strong.
That just breaks the immersion, especially when she didn't even have any muscle.
Anyone who isn't a mentally handicapped child knows that men are strong and faster than women.

I hate this episode

Yeah the political red tape and bureaucratic bullshit was efficient at making people pissed

>Was there any way they could have stretched out the Goa'uld as the main bad guys?

Yes, but it would require Goa'uld character and tech development. Replicators were a not really interesting foe because they didn't have a compelling motive. Wraith were OK. Ori could've been better if they didn't make them so retardedly overpowered that it became obvious they'll be defeated through an Deus Ex Machina.

If anything it would have just been more Lucian Alliance like in SG:U

So who else would totally let Nirrti do whatever she wanted?

I don't think that's her problem, she was fairly buff for a woman actually, and it wasn't like she was played up as a super warrior; just that she was a capable leader for her own people. So she was the token "indigenous" character, and had boring as fuck writing.

I'll probably get shit on for this, but Sam Carter is a bad character in the series. Boring as fuck super nerd who always saved the day, was just as good of a fighter as the boys, and after the Jolinar Tok'Ra arc, she even got Gou'ald knowledge base so she overrides Daniel Jackson's anthropologist character half the time. Besides looking adorable as fuck, Carter has nothing good going for her besides her father was great, and the underlying romantic tension between her and O'Neill was and interesting dynamic.

Stargate Franchise Female Character Power Rankings:
Vala Mal Doran > Dr. Elizabeth Weir > Dr. Janet Frasier > Dr. Jen Keller > Adria (Ba'al) > Nirrti > Tok'Ra Titty Woman > McKay's Sister > Princess Loli played by Dark Matter girl > Lt. Hooters > Osiris > Adria (not Ba'al) > Dr. from SG1 late seasons > Hathor > Elizabeth Weir Dushku legobot > Sharae > Lt. Medic ScarJo > Sam Carter > Teyla > Asian Politician Dyke > Chloe

I probably missed a few, but whatever.

Or let the Goa'uld find ways to artificially mature symbiotes so they can field them as troops.

>nobodys posted OUT OF MY WAY GOOLD FUCKING SHITS yet

>Lucian Alliance

Shame these guys were never threatening but what can you do with this guy at the helm

I think there was room for improvement, yeah. But we could have learned more about them, and it would have been a manageable foe, unlike the ori where they literally needed a magical box to beat them.

It wasn't her main problem, no, but it certainly made me dislike her immediately.

Sam was one of the many women in my youth that gave me a thing for short hair (Kira, Maggie, Videl etc) so I have a bit of a blindspot for her.
She vastly improved after season one so she seemed to be a good character even if she was only better than she previously was.

Daniel was usually my favourite character from SG1, also, you forgot Lya in your list.

The Ori were from a different galaxy as well. I think they were cooler than the space vampires. One of the reasons I dropped SGA after 1.5-2seasons.
The replicators were great as a plague, but they HAD TO evolve, since that's their main directive, consuming new techs.

>when they turned based lord yu senile

Would you watch a "gritty" remake of Stargate in which SG-1 series was the actual plausible deniability/ leaked concept series? Think Generation Kill meets Stargate so uncertainty, civilians wasted for no good reason, comms failures, recon gathering and hover tanks that fit through the Stargate.

Just kidding, you'd watch anything with Stargate in it

I'm still so pissed they cancelled SGU. they only gave it 2 seasons damnit, it could have turned out really great. They were taking chances with that show which meant it had a lot of potential to be really awful or really amazing. I would have gladly watched to find out. Fucking execs can fuck themselves

I liked these fuckers. Too bad they were nothing but retarded jokes.

But SGU tried to be "gritty" and "dramatic", and it was generally disliked. That sounds stupid as shit. SG1 and SGA were liked because they were fun adventure-of-the-week shows, essentially Hercules or Xena in space. They had times of drama and character tragedy, but in general they were light-hearted and formulaic.

SGU was shit bro, accept it. Carlyle and Lou Diamond Phillips were carrying it on their backs. The main problem with it was it tried so hard to be Battlestar Galactica, and they though that shallow stylistic choices like musical character montages and shitty zoom-cuts were the equivalent of character drama, when it wasn't. It also didn't help that so much of the first season was based around Scott and Chloe's relationship, when they were the two most boring characters and mediocre actors on the show.

I'm more mad that they just cut SGA; I mean sure SGA was looking like it was ready to start the trip to sucktown, but it deserved atleast a closing season to just not getting renewed like it did. While SGU was starting to get interesting in the second season (as more focus on Rush, Telford, and Sgt. Hooch), it still suffered all it's shallow fake-drama flaws, and they atleast were able to write a decent closing story arc drama to end it.

>beam a fat basement dwelling wow addict self insert that for some miraculous reason knows ancient tech onto the ship to help you out

what the fuck were they thinking lmao

I always skip this episode, what were they thinking

>But SGU tried to be "gritty" and "dramatic", and it was generally disliked.

Because it was mostly fake drama. I mean when in the first episode you have a dying man closing some door that can only be closed from inside by a switch instead of flying one of those flying balls to close it, you know you're not up to a good start.

I know it was fake drama, but also serious business drama is not necessarily what people liked about the Stargate series, which was my point (the other part of my post was about how the fake drama in SGU was one of the reasons it sucked and why that user shouldn't feel bad for SGU dying).

Watching through for the first time... what was up with the schizophrenic opening credits during S3? Episode to episode it seemed to randomly switch between the usual credits, the 'Ra mask' credits, and new credits with no rhyme or reason.

I think it depended on how long the episode was. Around that time I think Showtime dropped it and SciFi picked it up so the commercial scheduling might've been different.

>it's a goa'uld technology makes Jackson leave his friends in a mine episode
>it's a goa'uld technology makes Jackson end up institutionalized episode
>it's a goa'uld technology makes Jackson dream of dismembering his friends episode

>serious business drama

That's not what I'd be going for though, just a more realistic and less idealistic approach to the army stuff, basically soldiers actually acting like soldiers and officers acting like officers.

>the p90s
>"im actually a tokra"
Oh man, forgot how great that image is.

...

He was an interesting character because yeah he was a bad guy but he wasn't a blatant asshole like the rest of the system lords.

fucking kek

rol

>Wait a minute. Jack, you've been seeing parts of the life of a barber in Indiana for seven years and you never mentioned it?
>Yeah. Sure I did. I know I did.
>mfw

SUPREME commander

Why did they switch from mp5's to p90's?

Mr. Wallace why is there pornographic material of Chinese cartoon characters in Destiny's mainframe?

>filmed in canada
>p90 is a french gun
>canada full of frogs

I really liked SGU.

Wish it hadn't got canned.

BASED

When will it be our turn to have Asgard best buddies?

It kills me that we didn't get any more Universe

Especially when you compare it to other shows that went on for a lot longer, and should really have been taken off of life support before season 9

And this

Wait a second this isnt a twink peaks thread

Got your twin peaks right here my man

kino scene

Kek, Window of Opportunity is so easy to spot.

It is both comfy and kino.

Dr Fraser, I'm SG1

The first Jaffa to KREE gets to stay on my team.

In-Universe, it was when Danial was kidnapped by Chaka the Unas. O'Neill suggested that they use needed something with armour piecing capabilities, so they switched to P90s and just stuck.

Behind the Scenes, it was because the P90 looks kinda futuristic.

In-universe because they needed something to penetrate that Jaffa chest-plate better.

The first 5 seasons had the ra mask intro only originally. But they changed it for dvd or something from season 3 onwards but not season 1 and 2 because they were filmed in 16mm not 35mm or something.

1. Deep Space 9
2. SG1
3. TNG
4. Voyager
5. Enterprise
6. Atlantis
.
.
.
9001. Universe
9002. TOS
9003. Star Wars
9004. Whatever I forgot

roll

I was actually pretty mad when they killed Ginn off

Here's a question. If I manage to ever get a gf, is this show good enough to watch with her?

I saw it three times now, but would she be into it? The only reason I'm saying this is because I want her to dress up as some of the characters.

Get her to dress as an Asgard and post results.

A large amount of Stargate fans are/were woman, so I don't see why not.

Then again, apprently most of those female fans were middle aged woman...

because based RDA is a fucking silverfox who is super fuckable and they already watched him in Macgyer?

There's even some side man-punani with daniel jackson

Daniel Jackson should really not wear a muscle shirt

Because the P90 was a hot weapon at the time. In universe it was because the MP5's struggled to penetrate the chest plate (though this is never shown) plus I seem to remember the P90 had a larger magazine than the MP5, was more ergo and a faster fire rate.

Plus it looks cool.

I've never watched all of SG1 from start to finish. I've only seen the odd episode on TV. What's that episode where they get beamed onto a ship and get stuck in a time hole or some shit and one of them has to stay behind and be alone for 60 years or some shit so the others can save them or some shit. That freaked me out.

...

Sounds like Unending, the season 10 finale.

Thanks ma niggah.

I keep telling myself I'll get round to it, but I never do.

We are getting a best buddy asgardian soon

Man needed a way to relax, what better way than to cut peoples hair and talk about your job?

great episode. My favorite is A Matter of Time because I've never seen a Sup Forums show or movie manage to do Time Dilation as well as that. Interstellar fucked it up so bad I had to watch A Matter of Time to get the sick taste out of my brain.

To be honest I remember being tired of the Goa'uld by the time they moved on but then the Ori sucked and I wanted the Goa'uld back.

What they really should have done is kept the Goa'uld as a constant evolving threat but spent more time sprinkling other antagonists/arcs throughout the series.

It's been nearly a decade since I've watched the show so if I rewatched it all I'd probably have a different opinion.

>It's been nearly a decade since I've watched the show
So you haven't watched it since it was canceled?
