Why do people post "who's still listening in [insert year]" in youtube comments? What do they gain from all the likes they get, aside from social validation? I don't understand the internet anymore, anons.
Why do people post "who's still listening in [insert year]" in youtube comments...
they are just a bunch of turdbrained retards
ignore such comments
They're kids. There's no need to understand.
Most of them look over 13 in their profile pictures. I don't remember being that desperate for attention as a kid, and I'm pretty sure most kids my age weren't either.
Gen Z is filled with low attention spanned special needs retards that aren't socially adapt. They don't know how to act in public, and are in constant need of attention.
We are doomed if these kids are the future.
You may be right. I still have hope though. Follow up question. Why do people spell "white people" as "wh*te people" nowadays?
I've never seen anybody spell white people that way.
If I had my guess, it's some type of way to be politically correct, as you know, it's a fucking crime nowadays to call black people black people, and I guess it's just a way to put white people in on it too.
It's either children or the dumbest people around. You know the kind, have zero personality, zero intelligence, think dad jokes are the epitome of comedy.
Remember, 20 years ago (even 10 years ago) many of the dumbest people couldn't figure the internet out yet. Now that its basic for everyone, these mouthbreathers are on here with everyone else posting thier retard level comments thinking its Nobel prize in literature worthy.
Thanks for the response. I googled it; one theory was that it's a way to avoid search indexes on social media. Another claimed that it's an attempt to associate the term white with obscenities, like sh*t or b*tch.
almost as bad as people who type verbatim quotes from whatever they’re watching.
“Ho ho ho now I have a machine gun”
Yes, fag, we’re all watching the same fucking video
Ok boomers
it's a human instinct, a sense of validation and inclusiveness.
like cats instinct to mark their teritory. ive no idea what i'm talking about and just made this up but im probably right.
Honestly, I figured that it was bots or something doing it. But I can't think of a reason why anyone would want to systematically farm for likes on youtube.
For me it's when half the text/email chain with a big group is all the same vapid bitch that feels the need to resend whatever was just said by someone else: 'liked by Asshole from her iphone'.
Nobody cares that you 'liked' someone saying 'see you later'. Usually this will come hours after the last real message so everyone thinks there is a new message, but it's just a second of your life gone forever.
fuck this is a deep question. i hate those comments to. i just brush it off as retards that can't shut up. i was thinking of going to a bunch of videos on jan 1 2020 and posting "who's still listening in 2021, just trying to a head start" just to fuck with them to show them how derivative and unoriginal they are
i've never once even thought about posting such a comment.
i can't put myself into the headspace of someone who would, it doesn't make sense. i think it's just the dopamine rush they get from the social validation points and attention they get, as if they are apart of something greater.
That doesn't bother me as much. Mainly because I think most of the time people do that to be polite. For example, if a friend of mine sends me a picture that he thinks is funny, I'll typically respond with "hahaha". Same thing.
Thumbs up
>What do they gain from all the likes they get
>What do they gain from the likes
>they gain from the likes
>they gain likes
i also notice a lot of videos of songs often a top rated comment of someone telling some tear jerker story about someone they knew loved the song and then died, so now whenever they hear the song they get "the feels". then you see a bunch of dumbfuck idiots thumbs up the comment and post sympathetic remarks. fucking thumbs down button doesn't do shit on youtube, it's just there for looks but i still give all of them thumbs down.
it's along the lines when they post "First" in the comments; it's like, who cares? are there prizes for doing so?
Worse are the comments from kids on comedy clips where they just repeat a punchline. Or these fucking things:
Nobody:
Jenna: I made a chain mail knight suit for my dog and now he’s trapped in it and has to have it removed surgically
YouTube: bshlblurgurglurg
Who came here from (insert gay movie/game title)?
Ok boomer
So it's that simple? It's all about the social validation? Man that's depressing.
