Hang out? yes
hate niggers? yes
Shoes indoors?
No
Have their societal norms be heavily influenced by 4 jews?
Yes
>Shoes indoors?
>No
Ok so is this a meme or not? I'm getting conflicting reports. Maybe it varies from state to state?
Wearing shoes inside a home is a social faux pas in my country unless the host has specified its ok for some reason.
I wear shoes in the house all the time. I hate being in just socks or barefoot.
is the one that hates niggers a jew? honorary aryan status granted
Some people are anal about their carpets. That's pretty much it.
...
JERRY, THESE NIGGERS
ARE MAKING ME THIRSTY!
No, Americans do not wear their shoes in other people's houses. The only exceptions are:
1. Repairmen (plumbers, electricians, etc.)
2. Retards
It was always strange to me how they barge inside each other's apartments through thin-as-fuck front doors like it's nothing, but I'm sure scenes wouldn't flow nearly as well otherwise.
Maybe it's normal if you were raised in the jungle
Only Jerry is canonically Jewish. Jerry and Kramer could have been I guess but it was never stated in the show.
>letting your friends know where you live
for what purpose?
Yeah thats another thing. Whats the deal (lol) with these carpet floors in the US? Seems impossible to clean and you'd need to hire someone to do it almost. I've been to America and they had these floors. I spilled wine on it and the host had to go and clean it right away to avoid permanent stains which seems a hassle.
It's not a custom or anything though. Just the polite thing to do so you don't mess up someone's carpeting.
U literally just spray something on it and it goes away
Carpets are nice to walk on and if you got kids or pets or something it helps for them, and some people like the look of them more than tiles.
They are a bigger burden but some people consider it worth the effort.
Thanks for the insight. It was pretty comfy to walk on I guess.
Do Americans really have carpeted floors?
It's also pretty much the cheapest flooring you can get
Yeah. Hardwood flooring is expensive here.
Shoes indoors is fine in America because we have paved roads
this is the funniest post I have ever seen on this board
Words cant express how much I am laffin
Why are Yurops so obsessed with Americans?
Us Aussies would like some attention too!
Never in a carpeted home, otherwise it's up to the host's discretion
That was a running joke in the series and occasionally pointed out by the characters
>be american
>highway explodes on your way home
chicago.suntimes.com
>Walls made out of wood instead of stone because 'stone is expensive'
>Floors made out of linoleum instead of wood because 'wood is expensive'
>Total cost of a house similar to a shack in any civilized country
Thats not true and you know it user. I can see you want some (you)s pretty bad from these last 2 posts so here
In civilized countries plumbers and whatnot always put booties on over their work boots when working inside.
kek
I don't think
are Americans. We wear our shoes indoors by default.
America is a third world country.
that's pretty much all I do
except the having friends over part
In England if you don't have your shoes on in the house you could lose your trainer licence.
Elaine is stated to be non-Jewish (Shiksa) and I'm pretty sure George is stated to be non-Jewish.
circumcise their cocks? afraid so.
...
I feel like that's something almost everyone does with people they are comfortable with and just know it's cool without having to ask. Like I have some friends where I can just walk in their house without knocking and others where it would be weird if I did. Plus in this show I feel like if you have to get buzzed in to get into the apartment complex than that would basically count as the knocking part
Kramer is not jewsish in the show. Remember that episode where kramer organizes a jewish singles night? Eline at one point says "your not jewish".
>Maybe it varies from state to state?
No, now quit getting your information from Sup Forums you gay nigger.
You guys get plenty of attention with your shitposts, or at least you did before the leaves stole your crown.
Same reason so many sitcom kitchens have those swinging doors that no one actually has in real life.
wtf is this
They absolutely wear their shoes indoors. All of them. It's not even a regional thing. That other retard is bamboozling you.
A frogposter
So George is Jewish on his mother's side, and Italian on his father's side (Frank was a Knight of Columbus, a Catholic fraternity). They didn't say anything about him being Jewish in "The Kevorka" and it almost seemed like it was implying he was converting from Catholicism to Latvian Orthodox, not Judaism.
It varies from person to person, some people prefer you remove your shoes obviously, but in general the default in America is to keep your shoes on. There's no custom of removing your shoes here.
GET OUT
>indoors
Ignore this master troll. All Americans sleep in the street. The houses are just for show.
This is the no meme correct answer. We don't have a specific custom. It's just a courtesy thing so you don't get dirt on someone's carpeting.
...
>There's no custom of removing your shoes here.
Speak for yourself shitskin.
It's not a societal custom. Just a courtesy.
>courtesy
Literally every person I've ever known has taken their shoes off when they first get in the house. This has nothing to do with visitors, we're talking about people living in their own home.
Who /sleepswithshoeson/ here?
Yeah but that doesn't make it a custom. Not in the same way Japanese people remove their shoes for example.
/showerswithshoeson/ reporting
It makes it a societal norm.
White as fuck, born on the east coast and now live on the west coast. I'm speaking a country-wide truth retard.
In NYC hardfloor apartments, you customarily wear shoes in my experience
Not a custom though.
>not sleeping 100% naked
realtalk, I took my boots off once and I got really lightheaded. Never doing that again.
burgers are weird
shoes on inside and they wipe sitting down.
>a slang term for the mental handicapped makes for good insults
This primarily only applies to carpeted homes and not everyone is super strict about it.
Societal norm though.
Actually standing vs sitting is a common debate here. Also, what are you Euros even doing up? Isn't it 3am there?
It depends what we are talking about here. When you or I get home, we almost certainly take our shoes off. However, if I were to visit someone's house be it for dinner, or a party, I would leave my shoes on unless told otherwise.
I feel like in the US, if you go to another person's house and immediately take your shoes off, it comes off as weird. Unless it's a close friend, I don't take my shoes off unless they tell me to or if there is an obvious pile near the door or something.
See . In my experience it's mainly just annoying moms yelling at kids to take their shoes off.
This. I would feel weird immediately talking my shoes off at someone's house unless they say so. And again, you usually experienced this as a kid so it just kind of got ingrained in us.
>I would leave my shoes on unless told otherwise.
I always ask what their etiquette is unless it's very obvious.
>or if there is an obvious pile near the door or something.
Basically this.
the festivus story about searching for a doll on Christmas eve also seems to imply that the Costanza household at one point did observe Christmas
You're speaking for yourself, and only your mongoloid self. Now sweep your fucking floor.
This sounds right
A LOT of context goes into whether I am going to wear shoes inside or not.
If its a good friends house and we plan on staying there for a while, shoes come right off.
If we plan to leave in 30 minutes or so, they stay on.
If its someone you dont know, they stay on unless explicitly told not to, or every other person there has done the same
I used to live in a house with all hardwood and I would wear shoes around the house all day long. I would never do that now that I have carpet.
i want to fuck that elaine mannequin
>If its someone you dont know, they stay on unless explicitly told not to
Why don't you just ask?
This the only correct answer in the thread. Taking your shoes off when visiting, especially if it's someone you're not close with, makes it seem like are too comfortable in a place that isn't your own.
Because thats something you are supposed to figure out on your own through context. Its a weird question that you shouldnt ask, almost putting someone on the spot as if to say "I dont want to take my shoes off".
That's all you got? You're at least 20 years too late to take issue with retard as an insult retard.
>Hispanics
Yes, shoes indoors
>whites
Yes, shoes indoors (and barefoot in the immediate outside vicinity of their house)
>blacks
Yes, shoes indoors
>Asians
No, no shoes indoors
>Because thats something you are supposed to figure out on your own through context. Its a weird question that you shouldnt ask,
What? It's a simple question. There's nothing weird about it.
>basing the entirety of America off of a bunch of neurotic, self-absorbed New York Jews
Foreigners are good goys that know who calls the shots.
This. Adults are expected to have clean enough shoes that they can wear them in a house without making a mess.
>I would leave my shoes on unless told otherwise.
Asking your guests to remove their shoes is considered rude in the US
Better not to be an autist and just pick up on social cues.
In the show the only character who's said to be Jewish is Jerry, but I'd definitely say George was a jew
This
Taking your shoes off at a guests house might be considered rude because feet are associated with bad smells
Yep. When someone tells me to take my shoes off as an adult, I immediately think they're being an OCD clean freak.
only sad sacks who gave up on life wear sweatpants in public
Northern California upper-middle class here. We wear shoes, boots, sandals and clogs indoors.
We have hardwood floors though. People who wear shoes on carpet are bad, bad people.
Has it ever occurred to Americans that their feet smell bad because they wear shoes all the time?
>"hey user, nice place, want me to take my shoes off?"
>this is too difficult for some people
It's ok to have autism, you'll be able to function in the world someday.
...
Larry is and so is Alexander, but George is not.
>Asking your guests to remove their shoes is considered rude in the US
Shitskins should stop speaking for normal people.
