so what is a good cloning software that will also move my OS from the HDD to an SSD. Samsung software constantly goes unresponsive, the ROG asus thing i literally cant find besides some shady Romanian site and it wont even tell me if it clones the OS. and Macrium failed several times

AOMEI Backupper, also do not remove the cover from your drive.

remove cover from drive??

Its not freeware btw but if your resourceful. ive used it 100s of times. choose system clone and optimize for ssd.

its a joke like the pictured hdd, with cover off exposing platters not in a clean room its fucked

is there a free one before i spend the 44$? opr is this one of the best and wont give me any issues?

If you have a spare flash drive download Rufus ISO burner and the Clonezilla ISO. Flash the iso to the drive then boot the computer from the drive. Follow the onscreen prompts. It'll probably take a while.
>yes you poorfag they're free

That's not the way to go. Install new OS and transfer all your data another way. Cloning will just make your OS laggy and corrupt.

even if i use this AOMEI software? i have heard form many that cloning it all over is the best course

sudo dd if=/dev/sdX of=/dev/sdY conv=noerror,sync status=progress

dont, when youre installing os on ssd it will configure for the ssd usage so cloning is bad idea

but i see that the AOMEI software can clone windows to SSD from HDD with no issues, or should i look into it more

please im so desperate

You could ask Sup Forums

unstappable copier

use AOEMI, it's pretty straightforward.

but will it mess up my OS? i see many people on forums say that their computers boot from the HDD and still use it even after migrating to an SSD

yeah, it is said to accelerate the cloning process if the HDD has fresh air access because the particles help speeding up the copying

xcopy c: d: /s

idk what that means, im an amateur with most of this

Cat unironically.. wonder how many of you fagots get it

run linux live from an optical disc or flash and you can clone a drive easily with a single command.

+1

idk what that means.

AOEMI partition manager has a wizard specifically for migrating from HDD to SSD.
as long as you remember to wipe the HDD c: drive it'll boot from the SSD.

you mean wipe the drive as in just delete EVERYTHING off of it into the recycle bin, after i do the entire migration progress?

after the cloning process is complete
restart the PC using boot options
boot from the SSD
then use AOEMI to delete the c: drive
completely wipes the drive
then reformat the drive.
make sure all your personal files are backed up before starting.

okay will buy AOMEI and do this, thank you so much!!
