Locke

Can we talk about this great fucking film? The idea of staying inside the car the whole time and telling the story through phonecalls is brilliant and I'd love to see more films like it.

Also, I love that all the posters are just Tom Hardy's face because that's literally the only thing they can show.

Too bad Refn already used the title, or else they could have called it Drive.

This movie, by all measures, should be fucking terrible. But it's genuinely one of the best films of the past few years.

I watched it after seeing reviews and was bored to death.

It's not for babies with no attention span.

t. kid who reached puberty and has first seen a drama that isn't marvel/dc crap

...

I went into it cold not even knowing it was Bane, this was before Baneposting really took off. It was good.

Tom Hardy's such a godlike actor that each of his roles feels like a completely different person. He even makes a point of changing the voice he does.

Mfw I saw this piece of shit

But enough about Lost.

The Japanese title is "On the Highway" for some reason.

That name is much better.

Great film. Manchester by the Sea another good drama

hmmmm....mmmhmm....mootka....powdah....hrmmmmm...

What.

traffic's fine

I don't understand. Why "should" it be terrible?

Fuck Chicago.

I don't know if this is sarcastic or not since I don't know Sup Forums's opinion on Manchester but I really liked that film too.

>He even makes a point of changing the voice he does.

that's not necessarily a good thing when most of his accents, especially in Locke, sound fucking retarded.

It was alright. I almost shed a tear at the end. Almost.

this. He sounded like a fucking retarded elf.

They're hard for plebeians to appreciate, it's true.

It's called Locke because he's locked in his car the whole time. Lol. Get it?

Lol.

Watched it without knowing what it was, took me a while to realize its all going to be in the car. Its certainly well made for what it is, except for his kid it was pretty convincing and tense.

>telling the story through phonecalls is brilliant and I'd love to see more films like it

have you seen buried?

That's a lot of stars.

>I'd love to see more films like it.
But it was only good because of how unique it was.

No but I'm going to now.

Because it's one guy sitting in his car for 90mins phoning randoms

This movie was an absolute waste of time and Hardy's accent was god awful.

But they're not randoms. That's the point. He had some very important business to take care of. He had to do what needed to be done.

Just like your life.

I watched this movie

This, what a terrible film.

It's like people think it's good because it the whole thing was shot in a car. wowee. Shit plot., shit accent.

Just like your life.

My lifes great, unlike your taste. Fucking do one.

Do THIS. *flips the bird*

considering the UK doesn't call them highways - no it isn't

What do we call them?

Motorways. Fuck off

You do realise that highway and motorway are not the same thing?
I hope you don't own a driving licence

solid kino

Greatest practical joke in history.

Man sits in car, talks about concrete.

You do realise there are no highwaymen anymore.

What are you trying to say?

What are YOU trying to say?

If I had friends I would trick them into watching it.
This is probably why I don't have friends.

That highways and motorways are not the same thing.

>That highways and motorways are not the same thing.
What did he mean by this?

Film kept me very engaged until the end I was impressed.

4U

how is this film a thriller? if anything is more like a drama

Thriller is one of those really empty descriptors that people use when they have no idea how to describe something.

>tfw didn't recognize Ruth Wilson's voice but immediately knew the older woman with whom Locke had the one night stand with was Olivia Colman

Literally a two hour advertisement for a new BMW.

Hollywood is not your friend.

The movie leaves a bad taste in your mouth afterwards

>A movie with only Ryan Reynolds in it

Yeah, thanks, but I think I'm good.

Too bad drive was already a book before both of those movies!
Jk jk
But this movie inspired me to make those "just one person" type of films

I'm in no way a particularly masculine guy and don't really like all 'women never understand' crap inb4 numalebut this movie made me feel proud to be a man.

>he doesn't know about Ryan Reynolds' superior acting ability

How so?

DONAL

CONCRETE

Dr. Donal, I'm concrete.
