Haha
What? They actually made this? I just figured they'd come to their senses and realise it was a waste of time and money.
Apparently it's a part of DCCU too.
FUCK YES!
>House L
>logo is an S
what did they mean by this?
So this is a show for girls? Like Smallville?
>David Goyer
Boy you probably thought the OC was for girls too.
Hmm? What you say?
smallville is kino but sure
Its not an S
1. Gotta spread that franchise
2. CW reduced most of DC's undeveloped properties into half-assed background parts.
As it's needed to power Superman's sign attack.
>Here, have a Batman show without Batman
>Not enough? Have a Superman show without Superman.
BRAVO, DC
If they can avoid the cw drama and general capeshit themes then it might be good.
>Here, have a Batman show without Batman
It's a pretty good show Desu.
It's horseshit
It's OK. We understand that you hate life itself. Some of us don't.
It looks pretty good and I am mildly hyped for this. Man of Steel's Krypton portrayal was the best part of the movie.
I am worried the leading dude can't pull off good enough acting, but we'll see.
Sure, not liking a sub-par tv show makes you hate life. Good thing i didn't mentioned your waifu, you might've gone ballistic.
You have shit taste. It's not a crime. Just makes you generally a shit person whose opinion no one gives a fuck about.
It matters a whole lot to you apparently, look at you go!
>from the writer of the dark knight
>and the man of steel
Utter fucking trash.
I dont like Man of Steel
ON MY
Dude's wrote a lot of scripts. He's all over the place but I'm tentatively hype for this.
life imitates art
it's probably shit but the set and costume design and sfx look amazing
Even I think this looks dumb
Looks like cheap shit
Also its syfy so guaranteed muck
Two of my favorite shows are on SyFy right now - The Expanse(which is genuinely a great show) and the Magicians(which is solid fap-bait).
I think it looks cheesy and neat.
Odd as shit, and the fact Sup Forums will ironically hate it makes me want to see it more.
>Ian McElhinney as Val-El
Take my money
>that ghostbusters proton pack stock sound effect
>Cameron Cuffee
Any info on this dude? Surely someone has seen Halcyon.
...
How does this guy know what the future would bring right down to kals name and him going to earth?.
>Its sexy teenagers punching people, having sex, and being bad actors
>IN SPAAAAACE!
Is there an award for laziest tacked-on franchise padding?
>Marvelcucks
It's DC that has absolutely no fucking idea what to do with their properties. This show looks like someone high up and said, "Fuck Battlestar Galactica, you know what show we want to emulate? That Caprica spin-off. Pure kino."
I imagine its the ai jor el talking to kal
Oh yeah, DC has a trophy case full of them.
Remember the Birds of Prey tv show?
Or it's predetermined by the Codex.
Gotham is like The Wire of capeshit. Its not as good as The Wire, but it has (or at least in season 2 had) the same season structure as The Wire and tries to tell a story about a city through individual actors in that city.
Kal was a natural birth though not the codex shit.
>it's another teen drama
God fucking damnit.
I dunno, I'm not really that excited.
I always liked the more classic "complacent utopia" take on Krypton.
So.. it's like Gotham but w/ Superman mythos?
Looks good so far.
I doubt they'd bring SuperNeck in here.
inb4 it's a love story between Superman's Grandad and Zod's Grandma as teens
That's true, but they could have just taken the name out of custom. Would be interesting to find out it has an actual meaning.
kek

REEEEEEEEE MAKE MINE MARVEL
>The Expanse(which is genuinely a great show)
Correct
>The Magicians
Absolute prostate cancer. Unfortuntately it looks like this show will be taking cues from the latter.
Ain't it grand? Can't even give anything the benefit of the doubt, just preemptive hate.
>continuing the trend of naming shows after the place they take place in
Fuck off DC
The Expanse is so good I'm amazed it's SyFy.
it's a good name stfu you antifa shit
Its lazy is what it us, you cretin
Sci-fi made nBSG. They have talented people.
Oh my god.
They felt so desperate they decided to push what looks like their version of Agents of SHIELD or god forbid Daredevil on the freaking SyFy channel?
The same channel that produced this shit? youtube.com
Name. Now.
>david goyer
>syfy
This is exactly what will happen to Earth if we don't resist Drumpf like they resist the villain this movie. Drumpf is going to kill us all.
You motherfuckers are transparent, you know that, right?
Funny, I actually convinced my chickas to watch The Expanse by saying it's on the same level (and network) of The Magicians. 1 girl told me she didn't like it cause space stuff is boring and the other 3 was intrigued
Not him, and I agree, it's not that common, but there is Gotham and Smallville.
That being said, that's probably also the only 2 DC specific places everyone heard of, discounting Metropolis.
Is Krypton's mythology a kino version of Dune's?
>You motherfuckers
People who hate the Syfy channel?
Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of DC's stuff, I even watch Gotham, but you don't produce something on the Syfy channel unless you're either bringing a new IP and are desperate to get published, or you've given up.
These are the people who took 12 Monkeys and turned it into a show about magic.
>dies in episode 1
They also made BSG and the Expanse, so there's that. The only people coming across as desperate are the people who seem set to pray for failure.
And Eureka was comfy as fuck, and Warehouse 13. I miss the hell out of that show.
The art actually looks compelling and i think it could be an espionage(ish) story about Zod's cup d'etat which by definition would be already cooler than Smallville i think...
I would say that while unnecessary it has somewhat picked my curiosity...
>Either bringing a new IP and desperate to get published or given up
The argument was that if a pre-existing IP touches that channel, it goes to complete shit.
I loved Eureka (Until the last season or so) but those are the exceptions to the rule, where someone comes in, has a great idea and they can only get it out on Syfy.
Prove me wrong, but I don't think I ever saw a single pre-existing IP go through Syfy without becoming utter shit, hence 12 Monkeys and Highlander. Though arguably Highlander became shit long before.
From 2:45 to 3:00 it's a perfect synergy of music, visuals and acting. If the show captures 10% of that we should be all right.
>The art actually looks compelling
Because it's based on work that people with actual skill and artistic ability produced. It is however extremely clear that they don't get it (or don't care) and are watering it down like crazy.
A lot of the scenes looked like yet another "dust and cement bunker on alien planet" setting.
And these are primarily shots from what is most likely the pilot.
>i think it could be an espionage(ish) story about Zod's cup d'etat
Why do you think that? It very clearly has nothing to do with characters you already know.
Yeah Zod's Grandma is a teen in this
>Why do you think that? It very clearly has nothing to do with characters you already know.
Because it eventually will go there. To the last days of Krypton. It's kind of a selling point.
Probably the "villain" will be working for Zod all along and shit like that... They always introduce what people already know of a universe in one way or another to hook the audience. Not saying that's a good thing but it's a thing.
Also, even if they are basing the work on deeper works you have to consider they could have just done whatever instead... gone their own direction, made their own "original" take on Krypton.
Even if watered down it shows the intention of at least trying within budget to do something reasonable. It will most likely be shit though... but i think it deserves the benefit of the doubt.
It looks better than Gotham already... at leas aesthetically.
We need to classify the capeshit shows at some point.
You have the >casual< cadre of shows which are basically all of DCEU - Flash, Legends, Arrow, Supergirl. Smallville falls here as well.
Then there are the >trying too hard / taking self too serious< shows like Agents of Shield and Ghotam. I guess Heroes can go here as well. Misfits too.
Also, the >dark and edgy< shows like all of Netflix' roster - Daredevil, JJ, LC, Iron Fist.
I wonder where Krypton will land. I am hoping for dark and edgy, but it will probably be trying too hard tier.
>Because it eventually will go there. To the last days of Krypton.
What precisely are you basing this on?
>misfits
>taking themselves too seriously
Tell me you have downs or something.
