I recently introduced myself to TRP. It was revelatory in some ways and now ties into a larger theory I’ve been assembling.
I’ve been incredibly disheartened for the past few years by how selfish and ignorant so many people are when it comes to adapting ideology to their personal lives. We as a whole take tremendous ideas and pervert them into common trash that perpetuates destructive and meaningless argumentation.
Compare:
>MRM A movement that attempts to redress social attitudes or stigmas regarding unnaturally high amounts of male suicide, workplace violence/death, unfair paradigms within abortion and divorce law, education inequality, etc. >A movement of self-actualization for the sole purpose of slathering oneself in slutty pussy.
>Atheism A personal view of disbelief in supernatural entities, often brought about by a desire for intellectual growth or models of free thought. >A personal view of rejecting supernatural entities, often used to further anti-religious sentiment or assert one’s authority.
>Feminism A movement that attempts to redress social, cultural, and economic disparities faced by women. >Tumblr
I’m a humanist. As a Westerner, when I look to my left, I see the road to ideological and cultural suicide. When I look to my right, I see the road to nationalistic totalitarianism. To state that the future appears bleak is an understatement.
I really, really want to discuss this before I begin to fall into the trap of making sweeping generalizations about everything and turn into the very thing I hate.
Juan Torres
soon kek will spread the blood of the blm all over the pavement and Trump will walk into the oval office
Thomas Thomas
I'm not sure that Trump will be elected because our society is too controlled by centralized media.
William Lopez
This isn't b8.
I actually want to get a sense of how other people approach this issue. Pretty much all of my friends IRL and the random people I talk to at bars are either cucked ideologically and literally cannot comprehend other points of view, or they've abdicated any involvement in thinking and politics because it's easier to talk about video games and other media.
Ayden Scott
Maybe consider humanism is a dead end and you need faith.
Christian Cook
Also consider the impact of technology.
I believe the Internet needs to be killed or regulated lile a drug or else it will tear apart society. It already has. Uncle Ted was right.
And I'm Sadly almost realizing that internet anonymity and the chans are inherentlt degrading to serious thought and conversation. Maybe even worse than facebook because of the instant gratification.
Maybe abandoning anonymous internet woild be a good idea.
I know this makes me uncomfortable but I worry it's true and we have been conditioned by Sup Forums to see it from only one side.
Evan Clark
But really me and you and most people ARE common trash.
In the end mass literacy and education was a mistake. We'd be happier as simple peasants.
Being politically insignificant is perhaps the greatest freedom of all. Thanks Enlightenment for taking it away.
Grayson Sanders
Humanism has historically been responsible for some of mankind's greatest achievements.
I would argue that our current predicaments have come from abandoning the theory as a whole, taking away the bits we like.
For example: Liberals - Individuality with no concern for Community Cons - Vice-versa.
Aiden Hughes
I worry that most Industrial ''Progress'' was actually a regression in terms of happiness and fulfillment.
Dominic Reyes
Fuck it's hard to take the Ted Pill
Jaxon Torres
women =/= men
society should treat them accordingly
David Thompson
Yoi also have the confusion in America though where tou have ''leftists'' who claim to be collectivist and ''conservatives'' who are more individualistic
America has fucked up the definitions of politics in some pretty shitty ways.
Evan Fisher
I recently came back to Sup Forums as a means of keeping up with cultural trends I've missed out. I've been lurking here for about a week; the last time I visited this site was in 2009. Some things change, some things stay the same.
So I don't share your particular views about technology, but then again, I'm not inundated in it.
Camden Young
Did old Sup Forums really have lots of serious highbrow discussion?
I came in 2011 and really have my doubts that it was ever not shitty and full of memes and half baked rationalizations. The only change is the population density.
Austin Edwards
In reading your post and rereading mine, I was mistaken; the two big parties just emphasize whatever they want *when it suits them*.
Mason Lewis
I'm interested in maintaining a perfect civilization through soft eugenics, a simulated pastoral economy and life, a class of scientists that maintain the control of infectious diseases, a class of Traditionalists/anthropologists that reverse the chronic diseases of civilization.
Jacob White
No. The only thing that's changed are the memes and the overarching political attitudes. New boards here and there, otherwise the same.
I really wanted this topic to gain traction. But I guess it's too difficult in a board filled with what amounts to bait and self-fulling masturbation thread.
Parker James
Simulated how?
In VR or like domes or some shit
Also do you think you're even genetically pure enough to not be culled in that world?
Id say most channers aren't
Alexander Young
So...
You want a feudal, agrarian Amish-esque society that somehow involves science.
That's helpful.
Camden Collins
I find it funnt whenever people rant about how Sup Forums used to be this or that.
Some people claim it was mostly far right moral conservatives in the past and want to kick out degenerates and anime posters .
while others say the opposite that it was liberal and libertarian and make fun of ''stormfags''
I think people just read their own bias into the board's past
Logan Sullivan
i'm right there with you fwiw, but i don't really have anything to add
Benjamin Kelly
I honestly don't think Sup Forums was even around back in 2009. I certainly don't remember it.
Grayson Brown
Nah i started on Sup Forums and Sup Forums and then /x/ during the 2012 apocalypse happenings then Sup Forums the same year
Michael Torres
When you understand how things are the way they are, you can more easily accept them.
It's not surprising at all that people use ideology for selfish reasons when you consider our existence as products of evolution. Everything you care about can be linked to some instinct or impulse aiding in your ability to reproduce. People do not care about the truth or the greater good. We have to learn this and subordinate our desires to and incorporate our desires within such a framework - and that is a lot to ask for some people.
And I only mean to state the facts. I do not mean to say I am a nihilist or pessimist.
Christopher Rogers
>Maybe consider humanism is a dead end and you need faith. Wishful thinking gets you nowhere desu. We call that fantasy land!
Jace Phillips
>tumblr
Boy I am sure glad you /cuck/s aren't on tumblr
Best hentai/porn community ever
Stay sweaty on 4chins
Thank you ~

WHATS THE NAME OF THAT BOOK WHERE ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE FUTURE SOCIETY ARE CONTROLLED BY THE GOVERNMENT AND ITS DRUGS? OH YES> ALL OF TEHM

Brave new world
Adrian Bell
Concise and eloquent. I like it.
>that is a lot to ask for some people This is my biggest problem with civilization in general. How it is that some can be mindful of this while most are not? It doesn't take an exceptional person to perform basic critical thinking tasks.
Or does it? Fuck if I know, I only have comprehension of what is specifically within my own mind.
Ian Diaz
>This is my biggest problem with civilization in general. How it is that some can be mindful of this while most are not?
Well, when explaining human behavior we must look to genetics and environment. I can't say exactly what the answer is, but it must exist somewhere in there (and it is not absurd to think so).
>It doesn't take an exceptional person to perform basic critical thinking tasks.
But I suppose I can offer a hypothesis. It's that people do not have the motivation to do so when considering (consciously or unconsciously) their goals, all of which are more important than the goals of being truthful, mindful, right-minded, etc.
>Or does it? Fuck if I know, I only have comprehension of what is specifically within my own mind.
And yes, I think most people are capable of basic critical thinking, it's just that, again, they have no motivation to.
Owen Brown
You won't fall into that trap, evolution doesn't go backwards You may join one side for the sake of balance by you're not going to lose the bigger perspective once you got it, that's just absurd
Jayden Moore
checked, kek's will is divine
Easton Price
I meant to link OP's post, I hate posting from phone
Easton Collins
It's a nice hypothesis. I want to agree, but I cannot fathom how people who, after gathering some threshold amount of experience, simply do not or cannot begin to connect the dots. Motivation explains it up to a certain point, but I think the larger problem is willful ignorance.
Is it absurd, though? "Ideas are prisons" after all; I can easily imagine myself or anyone else comfortably settling into a cucked, truncated ideology for the sake of convenience.
Justin Fisher
And... I realized I just repeated what you said. Sorry.
Xavier Perez
In psychological evolution, as you progress, your model of reality gets less black and white and more grey, and you're going to look at more perspectives 're going to make less and less judgements and conclusions, or stop making themaltogether At one point you're going to realize there are no absolute truths You are aware that "ideals are prison", this will always sit in the back of your mind and it simply won't let you fail for some ideology. It's only convenience for people who don't have enough awareness and live thier life on autopilot, for those who do have it, it would be as you said, a prison
Gavin Scott
That was painful to read, I'm done with phoneposting, But I hope I got my point across
Oliver Rodriguez

Re: Athiesm
I know of some magickal rituals that Will make you feel and see things as a result without using chems or drugs.
Observable (but perhaps not recordable) results from doing something involving the Supernatural.
So I know for a fact, as in strength of proof, that such things are real.
Direct cause and effect results. But like I said they aren't necessarily recordable.
Michael Young
>I recently introduced myself to TRP.
To what are you referring? The googles do nothing.
Hudson Cook
As some others have stated, they said this lack of critical thinking, to observe a perception that is not their own (or even to become aware of anything but singular percpetion) might come from the consciousness not having the means of wants to look past their own desires, conscious or unconscious. I state, from that, that it probably was because of money. The pursuit and conquest of money perfectly starts and stops our entire drive. They have no need to seek to progress because they progress inherently with money.
Truthfully, I think a relatively moderate hallucinogenic trip would have to be necessary for most individuals to truthfully and consciously think as themselves, at this point in society.
Kevin Smith
That is actually quite comforting, thanks. You did.
TRP = The Red Pill
Jayden Flores
thx
Mason Murphy
Bullshit. Post them.

user, I feel my mind closer and closer to this every day and all I feel is fear. Why am I afraid of freedom?
Colton Clark
Likely because you are experiencing something new and unfamiliar, and your natural instinct towards such phenomena is fear.
Jayden Wood
I guess I always saw the pursuit of money and wealth in and of itself as such an obvious trap that I disregarded it as such a pitfall for others. Thanks for the perspective.
Dylan Myers
The event that sent me in this direction was psychedelic in nature.
Dylan Morgan
Thanks for sharing with Anons. You have helped me.
Alexander Howard
>TRP What the fuck does T. Rowe Price have to do with it?
Caleb Smith
Psychedelics give you glimpse of higher level of awareness but once the trips over your back to normal You need to actually exercise your awareness to raise it naturally, best by meditation and mindfulness t. Someone who never done psychedelics > Probably spiritual enlightenment idk, > No idea > Shitty graphic design
Lucas Lewis
Early education, including parents, do not encourage critical thought.
The human brain starts out with very rudimentary structures, and the way people are raised, even from birth, affects the way they think.
And unfortunately, it is not "okay" to tell your kids theyre wrong. People try to reason with their children as if they already have an adult point of view (You've seen lotso f these videos on youtube.. it's "cute" when the kid just argues "I want my way I want my way") and this irrepairably damages their psyche.
Grayson Walker
I fuck up every post ffs
Camden Phillips
No no. That's not right user.
Women = men
But we're confusing what the equal sign means.
2+2 = 2x2
This doesn't mean that the addition and multiplication operator are equal.
Women and men play equal roles in continuing humanity, and we have forgotten this, because people always, always think the grass is greener on the other side.
Being a "trans woman" is the male equivalence of feminism.. they can't exactly have a uterus now can they? But they can still attempt to experience female social privilege.
