But since the cold war the power struggle was taking place in proxy wars like Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, because superpowers have nuclear weapons and won't attack each other
So will the nuclear weapon be ever neutralized?
Take for instance the South China Sea - how will this dispute be settled? Will China wait for the USA to implode and simply expect the US to leave like the Soviet army left Eastern Europe?
I don't understand, You mean an American civil war?
Andrew Russell
Or a currency attack if this one is possible
Logan Watson
There won't ever be a full blown open war between super powers, only proxy wars and economic wars. If two super powers go to war, they know they run the risk of things going nuclear very fast.
Ethan James
>Will China wait for the USA to implode?
US has allies everywhere. Its not just China vs USA, its China vs NATO. China is obviously stepping over the line here, but there almost certainly wont be a hot war unless China really just doesnt give a shit. Expect a whole bunch of posturing, China flexing its strength, Trade restrictions/embargos from everyone else, blah blah blah.
Bentley Perez
A fuel blown war is completely unsustainable now. Modern military equipment needs parts and components that are manufactured across the globe and take a great deal of time in privately owned factories to assemble.
You cannot just knock up 10 Spitfires and a Sherman tank every 2 minutes anymore.
Besides, sense of national identity, in the West at least, is nowhere near the levels it was in the previous century. Half the population would probably use it for their own personal gains.
Ryder Collins
Everything is possible although it's not in anyone's intention to start nuking one another. Neutralization of nuclear weapons won't be ever achieved unless more destructive weapon will be invented because fear of massive worldwide destruction keeps us in peace. China and US won't go into the war with one each other. China has really good relations with Russia and risking NATO vs. Asia war would be litterally end of life on this planet
Nathaniel Green
>US has allies everywhere Western Europe is will have serious internal problems, the USA as well, if there's a debt crisis in China the whole world will feel it, so the situation of the "western" world is bretty bad
Julian Lewis
There will be a rematch between Hogan & Savage?
Tyler Nelson
>Neutralization of nuclear weapons won't be ever achieved what about the EMP weapon?
Dominic Cook
It would take less than 6 months of warfare before that kind of production was possible again.
WW2 production also relied on imports, the Brits would have been fucked without American convoys, as would the Sovjets.
Think of how much steel you have in your country, old cars, office buildings, landfills, etc. A wartime economy could utilize these resources and crank out weapons and tanks. Jet fighters are a bit harder, but I seriously think they could make primitive designs that could be supplied from within the nations
Ian Clark
Isn't Syria pretty much a proxy war.
And Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya. They were all just getting undesirables out of the way.
Camden Adams
All the superpowers have a permanent seat and a veto in the UN Security Council. This means that any measure taken against any superpower can be veto'ed by the nation on the receiving end.
Which also means there can never be any true enforcement of the UN ruling concerning the Nansha islands.
Gabriel Perez
Hopefully not. If the US, Russia and China neutralize themselves then this would open the door for new superpowers like the Islamic Republics of Germany and the UK.
Bentley Hernandez
Obama is such a fucking pussy china could sink half our carriers and that nigger would tell us to love them.
Adrian Bailey
There will never be another World War-scale conflict, especially between superpowers like the US and China. For one, the threat of things turning nuclear is too high, which nobody wants, and countries are too economically tied now. If one goes down, the world's economy would collapse.
Jayden Lee
Did you miss the cold war? Basically the US and Russia agreed to not attack each other and just let other countries do it for us. Then that failed, so we just tried to influence them. Then the Communists failed at governance. Then they figured out they had oil.
Jeremiah Robinson
Obama would talk his way out of it. He's a diplomat through and through. And a fucking good one at that. But I still think he's prepared to use force as a plan B. Otherwise your country wouldn't still be where it is.
Angel Lewis
Dear dumb nigger,
It will never "happen" If it did "happen" the Masters slaves would be killed. The Masters tax farms would be destroyed. The Masters property would be destroyed. The Masters means of extracting shekels would cease to exist. The Masters shekels would become worthless.
It will never "happen"
The shekels must be allowed to flow.
Angel Taylor
superpowers only fight when its jew vs goy
usa and ussr were both jew, so they had no reason to fight. nuclear war is a meme, they have absolutely zero problem destroying cities and killing millions and nuclear winter doesnt even real
Chase Cook
But it's you fatties sinking your own stuff and blaming others to start shit.
Kevin Howard
little known secret: Tesla's 'death ray' technology has been updated and optimized to be able to detonate nukes above the ocean.
Yet we are not in knowledge of the implications of the radiation's effect on the ozone. It's not something we want to blindly test, but we have the technological advantage to outlast. I don't think anyone wants to destroy the world, it just doesn't make any damn sense. I would never use a nuke, unless to nuke the enemy's launched nukes.
Jaxon Kelly
>Western europe and the USA have serious internal problems.
So does africa, Russia, South America, North Korea, and Italy
This is what I was asking about - what about the electromagnetic weapon that could easily take down nukes with energy? Wouldn't this be like the ultimate weapon against nukes?
Luis Reed
I'm talking about the public and private debt. What happens when China pops? And it surely will
Alexander Reed
Unless there is a fundamental shift in human nature there will inevitably nuclear war. During the Cuban Missile Crisis the world came inches from nuclear war. It was only with rational leaders on both sides, Kennedy and Khrushchev, that war was averted.
What happens when the next global crisis precipitates, and there aren't level headed leaders? And what about the crisis after that? It is only a matter of time before both a global crisis brings the nuclear powers to the edge of war, and one is insane or stupid enough to strike first.
Anyone who thinks that MAD is an infallible doctrine is either gullible or extremely naive.
