Very.

How primitive Afrikaans is just shows how primitive the people are

idk by her mouth is very mutually intelligible with my penis.

What’re the most notable similarities and differences

it is just grunting and shrieking, they are pretty much the same language

Afrikaans is basically 17th century Dutch mixed with a lot of alcohol consumption

Afrikaans is basically dumbed down Dutch with some foreign words thrown in. Wikipedia has an entire article on it.

It's easier for Dutch people to understand Afrikaans than the other way around.

In Afrikaans everything is singular. Plurals are gone.
Double denials.
Suffixes are gone in Afrikaans.
They removed a lot of words, like most of the articles.

So people who speak Afrikaans will be faced with a lot of new sounds.
While for a Dutch person Afrikaans sounds like very simplified Dutch.

>Double denials.

What's that?

>Plurals are gone
I mean in Afrikaans the verbs lack the plural forms and some of the tenses.

In Afrikaans they use denials a bit like the French ne.. pas.

I will not do that not.

Right on

Afrikaans:
Ek sal nie bang wees nie
I shall not afraid be not

Dutch:
Ik zal niet bang wezen
I shall not afraid be (plural form of be)

Ek wees
Ek sal wees

Ik wees
Ik zal wezen

Things like these complicate things for people who speak Afrikaans, but not the other way around.

Erm, correct Dutch is:

Ik ben (I am / I be)

I cant get no satisfaction

Afrikaans sound pidgin tier

Really ringles your bingles.

Your language sounds uglier than Vietnamese and Vietnamese is very ugly.

Our divine language is not meant for mere human ears.

Nor is it to be spoken by mere mortal mouths.

>uglier than Vietnamese

Absolutely nothing is uglier than tonal languages, delete this post

it sounds good but sounds worse then German granted

afrikaans also has a lot of weird words in it.

the coloured people's afrikaans is closer to dutch than the white people's (for geographical and historical reasons).

an example will be a cape coloured will say
ik is een beechi moe

in dutch it is
ik ben een beetje (bayche) moe

in standard afrikaans it is
ek is een bietjie (beeki) moe

in gauteng afrikans
ek becomes ak

I can can read shit in Dutch and generally get what's going on for the most part, but I'm not quite fluent in Afrikaans

t. Chang

but that was a crossroads

reading should be the same between them though? the difference become more systematic read, than lsitened to.

Dutch actually has a bazillion dialects so you can just pick the sound. We have accents down to the city level.

As I said, I'm not fluent in Afrikaans

I'm anglo, not a boer

I've been told Afrikaans is basically just gutter Dutch

Limburg I understand the best.
Pls gibbe back Gelderland.

Somewhat unrelated but but do anglo South Africans sound like bongs?

They don't, they just have a slightly more neutral accent than the boers.
It's the Zimbabweans that sound like the English

How are glorious Frisians seen? Is West Frisian mutually intelligible?

Frisian is a completely different language. It's closer to English than to Dutch.
Low Saxon is more intelligable

In the mainlands of the Netherlands we have three regional languages, Frisian, Limburgish and Dutch Low Saxon. They are all very much alive. But when someone speaks Dutch your supposed to answer in Dutch.

Although like 85% of the people speaks with an accent people still consider people who speak with an accent dumber.

Frisian is fairly understandable for Dutch people.
Not sure if Frisians can understand other Frisian languages.
Limburgish can turn into complete gibberish.

Doutzen Kroes speaks Frisian.

>Dutch Low Saxon
no one recognises this as a language and it really boils my potatos.

just like how no one ever recognises kleve/dusseldorp as rightful low-frankish (nederlander) clay.

Gibberish Limburgish in full force

Dutch Low Saxon is just normal Low Saxon. I can understand it effortlessly

they WERE there for the btter part of a century

Yeah and Australia still is, but Australians don't have a posh English accent

...

something we have in spanish

no tengo nada
i don't have nothing

Why do I like languages that sound like outlandish gibberish, Dutch and Danish particularly?
They sound so damn comfy

it's weird because ive met black guys from zim and they sound nothing like this, usually just thick african accents with broken up English

listen to ian smith though, his voice sounds distinctly non-english. It's very similar to a saffa accent
