>mfw my parents didnt buy a gamecube but they gave a ps2 to my brother
as soon as smartphones came in the world went to shit because then normies could get on the internet
Overall standard in cinema has never been worse than the early 2000s but the franchises of the time were fantastic LOTR Carey's the era.
2000s was probably the worst for everything.
Cinema was of lower standard
Music definitely was overall.
Literature
Fashion
Just about anything which involves an aesthetic was fucked.
This is a reddit meme
Why was it so full of edgy shit?
What about Shrek
name one decade and one five year plan from the 20th century that isn't full of edgy shit
2007 was arguably the most kino filled year in cinema history
>No Country For Old Men
>There Will Be Blood
>The Assassination of Jesse James
>Zodiac
>Eastern Promises
>Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
Because of 9/11 the entire American paradigm shifted from the grunge of the 90s to the self loathing evolution of the genre in the 2000s, with spiky hair, hoop earrings for guys, teenage angst and linking park and Eminem in your cars CD player while your mom listened to now cds.
Agree
Pluto is a planet.
30 Rock is a random choice for the pic, no? I love the show, but it was never a huge hit. I feel like Big Bang Theory would be a "better" pick
Raven?
Bitch up here we call em crows!
huh, even the earlier half was better than the later. It was just progressively worse shit as it went on.
>no original Xbax in the earlier half
was this fucking posted on reddit or something? I keep seeing this shit posted

What do?
wasnt this from the 90's?
No it's from 2000-2006
Obviously the early 00s.

This.
It normalized being "nerdy" and nostalgia which is why we have insufferable reboots and capeshit.
Look at the pile of shit that is Stranger Things and how normies fucking adore it for being some shitty "muh nostalgia" orgy full of shit that nobody actually liked in the 80s.
Did anyone else have Heinz come in to your school one day and hand this stuff out?
...
You're answer will be biased, if you were born in the late 90s youll hold the early 2000s in a higher regard than the late 2000s
Redpill me on Saddam
I'm glad we're moving into an era where the majority of web users are too young to remember the 90s so 00s nostalgia is what's cool now. That le 90s shit was pretty annoying.
and i used the wrong your fantastic
Someone born in the late 90s wouldn't really be cognizant of pop culture until 2006 or so. Don't you mean someone born in the early 90s?
He liked killing people and pretending to have chemical weapons
someone born in the late 90s shouldn't fucking post here they can go fuck themselves
>implying kurds are people
This. The real "core" of your childhood is at ages 11-12. This is why it was always so ridiculous for kids born in the 90s to call themselves 90s kids. Even if you were born in the year 1990 the defining parts of your childhood, when you were old enough to be fully aware of the world around you but young enough to still be a kid, were in the early 00s.
Born in early 90s: early 00s kid
Born in mid 90s: mid 00s kid
Born in late 90s: late 00s/early 10s kid
I know that pisses off the 90-93 crowd, but that's how it is. "b-b-but i played super nintendo and had dial up internet growing up! that's so old and retro, i'm totally not a 00s kid don't associate me with them!"
get over it you fuckin babies
I love when arabs pretend there are different levels of how much they suck. Theyre all equally shit
Absolutely correct.
>I know that pisses off the 90-93 crowd
No, the opposite actually, you're correct. 90 myself.
What pisses me off is people born 1997-onwards saying they're 90s kids.
You may think that but some keep others inline and stop them from flooding the west.
That first era is really just late late 90s. And the second era lasted until about 14.
OP's picture definitely needs some changes. Replace the Discman with an iPod first of all.
Definitely 2001-2006
the late 90's were worse then either. The movies, music and fashion were complete ass. good time for video games though
...
I see nothing inaccurate about that poster.
I say 1997 is when it went to shit. The Skinner is an impostor episode, Hercules, Batman and Robin, The Lost World, Good Will Hunting, Flubber. There was alot of good ones like Titanic and MIB but then by 1998 it was 99% shit.
Nostalgia was big way before that
I have nothing against nostalgia for quality things. But when you like something thats sucks just because you remember it from when you were a kid, it becomes ridiculous. The recent power rangers movie is an example. Power rangers was never good, but people remember it so profit
is this Prince Ketchup?
Poor Saddam. The mart sharters will pay for it.
I was born in 1990 and I never associated my childhood with the 90s. Naturally I remember a lot of the 90s phenomena - the flannel shirts, Enya constantly on the radio, and snes - but when I think of my childhood, it's playing Halo 1 and 2, James Bond Nightfire, and GTA San Andreas, and all that terrible emo music. Objectively speaking it was a terrible decade, but I grew up during it so I will invariably feel nostalgic toward it.
early 2000s is clearly superior being that it is closer to the 90s and further away from today.
91, the 90s influence on me is simply from late 90s video games and cartoons, the early 00s is where most of the stalg' is at.
amerifats, wtf
kept the kurds at bay
kept crazy islam groups as well
trolled the west so hard they didnt read through his bluff that he "had" chemical weapons
1999 was one of the best years for kino ever.
How so? Matrix is massively overrated, wild wild west and phantom menace are terrible
Early 2000s for TV, late 2000s for film.
>The real "core" of your childhood is at ages 11-12
Maybe for autists but that's really not how it works with normal people.
yeah that statements makes little sense. So what, nobody can remember being 7-10? middle school is all that matters?
I think ages 5-10 is your childhood but to each his own
We're 18-20 now gramps. Get with the times, it's 2017
