It's good Redditing. Redditors love the turbo manchild lifestyle and think it's really smart. They fear marriage and childbirth, they prefer their nations to be obliterated by mass immigration of nonwhites.
Not at all, le no god man xD

This """"""""""""""show"""""""""""""" is the definition of reddit

I'm gonna go with "no"
except in later episodes love is shown to transcend dimensions and stuff
it's low'key intterstellar

That post is the definition of newfag
yes
What makes it great is how it juxtaposes with Rick's philosophy later. From this to the end of s2 is a total 180. S3e1 flips this though so I'm not really sure how to look at it
He's a modern day philospher, I put him in my quiver along with Dawkins when I have to shoot down some thiests. I am stronger because of my knowledge from this show.
It's ironic you fags
Kind of. Rick is almost trying to convince himself that it's all a waste of time, even though he clearly doesn't believe it (which is why he tries to kill himself when he breaks up with his ex for the second time).
This show is such a strange combination of extremely dark themes, generic drama, and unfunny shock humor. Like the episode I'm talking about, it's basicaly all jokes about Rick's fetishes and then in the last 2 minutes sad indie music plays as he attempts suicide.
He said it's all in my head; I said "so is everything" but he didn't get it.
I like this show because it caters to my intelligence.
Unironically this.
Most shows have an incredibly simple world view. At least this show has some science behind it. It's a sci fi cartoon + comedy
>let's have a show about a grandfather and his grandson going on adventures
>haha let's put in something about how love is just something that makes people want to breed
Quality writing.
le no god science man o.-
is this some post-post-ironic memery?
But enjoyment is the exact same thing and Rick still enjoys himself
Is this?

But I've been married for 10 years and we love each other very much
We lost our virginity to each other too, that probably has something to do with it

Hola reddit
a character being a certain way and thinking certain things doesn't mean that those views are being pushed unto you
are you all so weak willed you are scared of this, rick is often potrayed as a broken and pathetic shell of a man. He's smart but he isn't something to emulate

>rick not smart enough to realize islam is the biggest poison
Why does it matter if love is "just a chemical reaction" so is hunger. These deconstructions of the human experience doesn't actually change the experience
/r/ing the mickey mouse "hypocrite you are for you trust these chemicals" meme
>im so insecure about my beliefs that i lash out on anything that challenges them
The thing that annoys me about this show the most is that Rick was supposed to be this edgy character with wacko thoughts, yet none of his beliefs and speeches are about something real controversial, just safe stuff like hurr God or hurr love, enough to say he's sort-of edgy but not enough to push anyone's buttons.
Well what the fuck is the point then?
Based on the endless threads about him here I think he successfully pushed some buttons. But i don't get it either. I guess a cartoon character saying "god isn't real" in 2017 is somehow mind-blowing.
They wanted the reddit audience.
tfw oxytocin deficiency and cannot stay with 1 girl for very long
why should you focus on science? who cares, life is just a big chemical reaction happening inside the universe which is just another big chemical reaction hurr hurr
there is no problem with having this viewpoint, its just that noone ever follows it through to its logical conclusion
>you not smart enough to realise that islam is just a derivative of christianity and judaism
A show to reinforce pseudo-superior beliefs in those that believe they're don't want to mate when actually no one wants to mate with them, and they don't focus on science either.
Yea it is, decent.
Problem is then they pull up something like Schwifty
Try finding one you like outside of sexy funtimes.
Leddit accusations have hit such a high point of critical mass the backlash will soon make not liking it will soon be regarded as unacceptable on every board.
The overwhelming majority of Reddit boogieman posts are made by Redditors anyway, it's the only way they could obtain so many screencaps and link to it constantly.
I'm one of the only 10% of Sup Forums that doesn't hypocritically also go there and at worst I'm indifferent to the site.
>will soon make not liking it will soon be regarded as unacceptable on every board
What did I mean by this?
yeah, just like Rick. He is so inspiring
This is actually true though.
Y'know, if the show didn't exist and some random shitposter posted that word-for-word, there would be nothing muh "m'lady *tips*" replies.
But, make it a cartoon and people on Sup Forums drool over it and hail it as great and insightful.
it's sarcasm, which is irony
no need to make it complicated seƱor pseud
>people on Sup Forums drool over it and hail it as great and insightful.
highlight one instance of this occuring
I don't Rick and Morty because I feel like I could write it. Something about its style just reminds me TOO much about my sense of humour and comedic timing (my friends say I'm the funniest person they know). I tend to like shows I wouldn't be able to write because they are too clever, like Malcolm in the Middle, Nathan For You, or Arrested Development. I don't really respect Rick and Morty because I feel like I could write for it, so maybe its a very personal gripe.
Rick's edgiest thought is that familial ties are irrelevant because it flies in the face of what is natural for a human. I hadn't thought of it before because I'd never really thought of a tranversable multiverse, but if it were to exist, then the emotional love you would have for your daughter would be irrelevant because she is replaceable. I think that is the only philosphical thing the show has that is compelling. Especially the notion of Rick and Morty burying themselves, which is reminscient of the remake of Solaris
>arrested development
>clever
yanks, everybody
>DUUUDE I LOVE SCIENCE XD
>WTF ARE YOU ANTI-SCIENCE?
>FOCUS ON SCIENCE FUCK YEAH!!!
>btw what's a table of elements is that a netflix show?
ah yes because I watch eastenders
Either you're British, in which case you watch Eastenders, or you're from a country which doesn't produce anything at all.
Why did Rick pray to God when he was about to die and then laughed in his face when he lived? Isn't he a nihilist?
Is it kill?
it's cynical
but it's also true, unfortunately
This is what happens when laymen stick their heads into philosophy and ethics
It was a hidden April Fools joke. No one knew it was on.
it showed on airdates.tv i seem to remember
dunno where you guys keep up with the schedule
i'm british and I don't watch eastenders
I do like american shows and i think arrested development is alri
but it is not "clever" and I don't know why so many people think it is
>inb4 you just don't get it
No I wouldn't say so.
The thing is about saying things like this in shows, it's not that it's always wrong or always edgy but honestly it's just stuff you should have already considered for yourself as a human being. I get that a lot of people are dumb as shit, but dialogue in shows like this is just so typified and gay.
>i'm british and I don't watch eastenders
>lying to impress Americans on their anonymous image board
No this is what happens when autists get triggered by a cartoon show.
He's talking to a kid with mental development issues, he's not seriously saying this kid should abandon love and focus on science, because the kid is literally incapable of doing anything involving intelligence. It's a joke.
Regardless, a good portion of the audience responded to that positively and considered it wise and true
I don't even hate the show but my point still stands
ok I can see this is the level the discussion is at, so enjoy your evening. Goodbye
Eastenders on in twenty minutes?
Are you implying that you think of things like "Mr. poopybutthole" in your free time? If yes I would have to diagnose you with something very terrible...
This is pretty much a Rorscharch situation in which fedora lords think the character is a badass when he's very clearly a wreck. Rick is a fuck up who completely ruins everyones lives around him and the only times he shows any genuine happiness is when he stops being a edgelord and becomes just a grandpa with his grandkids.
Because telling people that god isn't real is enough to trigger hordes of conservatives. The writers want Rick to speak the truth in a cynical way, not be as edgy as humanly possible.
No, I'm talking about more of the comedic timing of the show, how morty mumbles his lines and stutters, and is always kinda scared, or his mannerisms when he is angry, etc. The style of dialogue is too much up my alley.
>love without a strong faith in Jesus our savior and God our creator above...*
Ftfy
Sure, the character is an egotistical and nihilistic asshole, right? That's regardless of whether he's actually right or wrong.
He's weak-willed and fair weather.
>love without a constructed version of a guy who lived 2000 years ago to justify my views with in my head
>love without an acting imaginary friend who I talk to silently before I do things for encouragement
Being religious is like having a waifu, minus any sex stuff.
You seriously believe that belief in Jebus will make a marriage work that otherwise would have failed?
That's some magical thinkng there buddy
It's about the archetypal, metaphysical truth of religion, not the religion itself
When the first season was aired, it was pretty well received here. Second was about half and half. Only in the last couple months has it been unified hate, mostly due to the growing and vocal fandom in the normiesphere.

This is a problem for me for a lot of things. I flirted with trying to seriously be a comedy writer for a while, but I decided I really kinda sucked. So it's very annoying when jokes or dialogue is really transparent and you just see the writer talking to you instead of a character.
XD SO FUNNY!!!
GET IT??? CAUSE THEY ARE CARTOON CHARACHETERS FOR KIDS SO IT'S WEIRD THAT THEY TALK LIKE THAT!!!! UPVOTED!!!!!!!!!!!!
You realize it's a character talking, right? It's consistent with the character so it's proper writing.
You'd probably realize that if you weren't an autist that can only understand things at the most literal level.
>I think that is the only philosphical thing the show has that is compelling.
I agree. But I'm not sure this is even intentional.
>I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THOSE BIG WORDS!!! GRRRR THAT MAKES ME SO ANGRY!!! user SMART, user SMART!!! I AM SMART!!! I WILL SHOW THEM!!!!
umm are you caveman shaming
He's right.
Of course not, but I am a proud proponent of Caveman Realism
No he isn't
What gives science any merit?
Maybe not, but art is agonizing if you're concerned about artist's intent
Can't tell if trolling or just stupid
Tell him, TARS
Answer my question.
What gives science any merit? Why is it the "good" that we should collectively concern ourselves with?
Your comfy lifestyle.
uh huh that sounds like dithering to me
