If we are going to post historical maps and see which is closest to perfection, wouldn't we all agree that the current europe is really the best europe? All etho-states are happy and can be their own nations. The only really bad thing I can think of is Russia's Kaliningradskaya, which should really be given to Poland (or Lithuania?)

Ethnostates are a meme. Central and Eastern Europe prior to the expulsions/deportations/population transfers that happened after WWII was a clusterfuck of ethnicities. There were no clean borders as there are now.
If you like nation states interbellum Europe is basically a substantially improved version of today's map.
